  1. No, it’s a Honorarium.

  8. That shit and cyber-gookie is the future of warfare.
  9. Looks like some new age salad chopper. If it really flys there should be a video out there. YouTube only has a promotional featuring stills with some mellow backgourn tunes. Hell, if it is real they should at least have a video of model in a wind tunnel.
  10. This from Eurekalert.Org, science news release service. Submitted without further comment because I’m just F_ucking speechless. That said, the news release being available in Chinese must have some convoluted meaning. https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2009-12/yu-yrr121809.php
  11. Yeap, I've met him and have heard nothing but good of him. But, what does that have to do with the guard losing man days and missions? When AD is the host to a Guard uint without iron, it makes for a hard row to plow, particulary so with shrinking budget, tasking, etc.
  12. Well, how is it going to work out for Guard units where the HOST is AD, e.g. Fairchild AFB where the 92 ARW (AD) is host to the 142 ARW (ANG)? (What kind of fluster cluck machine has BRAC, TFI and its spawn wrought?)
  13. HellYeah, I am nearly 60 (but not hardly through puberty) and when I can hear an aircraft overhead I go out to watch ...sound of freedon (i.e. military) all the better!
  14. What is this GSU thing? Never mind, you did say AD (not ANG).

I have fallen victim to a whoop-ass case of Springfield SOCOM 16 fever. In scoping out ‘the cure’, I’ve noticed that there are two versions offered: the classic model AA9626 and a “California compliant” model AA9626CA. I don’t live in California and don’t want to inadvertently by a CA compliant model if it is somehow inferior or limited. Does anyone know what the difference is? Is it the gas system, mussel break, sights, magazine, magazine port, safety system, length or WTF?
  17. Check out the caption under the lower right photo.
  18. The very top district is Liberty, but it is in a rural area quite a ways south of Spokane (Spangle area). Mead and Central Valley districts are also at the top of the list. But, don’t disregard Cheney and Medical Lake districts. Both are considerably above average and near Fairchild. Spokane City schools (District 81) is a mixed lot; some terrible, some mediocre, a few above average). Unless you want to gamble, best avoid it. Districts to steer clear of include East Valley and Riverside.
  19. Refer to this , particulary to my post regarding, page__view__findpost__p__214372. The Diamond D Guide's Choice is another across-the-chest holster new to the market. Edited for dumbness.
  20. The question was "What are the rules on being affiliated with the military and running for office?" I was just pointing out that it is common for people who are affiliated with the military to run and hold a federal office. As a point of information, there have been Guard offiecers who have run and held office for the legislature in my state. I see no reason that Guard could not run and hold a federal position. Remember, both guard and reserve are AFRC, the only difference, is that guard has a state role, too.
  21. Haven't you ever heard of Barry Goldwater? Drag out your history book?
  22. I got no experience wearing a holster under a flight suit, but how about an across-the-chest rig? They are somewhat popular with backpackers, hunters, hikers, fishermen, etc. The across-the-chest holster (a.k.a Bandolier style) is fairly comfortable to wear, even while seated and keeps the handgun out of the way and secure, but accessible. Unfortunately, most major manufactures of chest rigs (Galco, DeSantis, Uncle Mikes, etc) cater to big bore and scoped revolves. And, as far as I know, chest holsters are intended to be worn on the outside of clothing. That said, below are a couple of models that may work. El Paso Saddlery and Cabelas carry traditional “tanker” style chest holsters. The Bianchi M13 chest harness is the modern military version. For other chest holster styles exercise Google. Another possible alternative is a Belly (a.k,a Waist) Band holster, as show here, here and here. The Thunderbelt may be another under the monkey suit option.
