  1. See the title of this thread. Basiclally some combination of AD, AFRC and ANG working/flying together.
  2. Those two are pure gold. I think you just made my day!
  3. This is not good news. Now they will literally put a box in your SURF for "Christmas Party Planner" and you will need that, AAD, and SOS-Correspondence to go to the extremely limited in-residence course. Then only those guys wills get promoted to major.
  4. This reminds me of another program that needs to get the axe. While it is a good deal for the guys that get to do it, how much money does PHOENIX REACH waste every year taking current and qualified IPs and sending the back through six months of training to learn how to fly a whole new aircraft? Every unit I've ever been in has been critically manned in IPs, yet continues to take the most experienced guys and sends them somewhere else for the sake of their careers. When it comes down to it, it's really just a really expensive-ass box to check to make it easier for our "leadership" to differentiate between officers at boards.
  5. WIC was the first thing that came to mind for me when I read "advanced" training. I would think that's got to be an expensive school with as much traveling and TDY as those guys do. On a related note, I'm hearing legacy C-130 pilots and navs in the FTU are being told not to make any long term arrangements as there is a good chance they will end up going to MC-12s or RPAs because the AD legacy fleet is getting ready to talk a big cut manning-wise and Yokota, Cheyenne, etc. are already overmanned.
  6. Do you have any evidence to back up this statement? I have never seen a commercial on MSNBC that says they claim to be a biased source that represents only liberal views. They claim to tell the full story just like everybody else. Their hosts are just so hateful and full of vitriol that its readily obvious that they hate anyone that doesn't agree with them (of course so is Sean Hannity). I think it's tough to get a good sample on how well informed MSNBC's viewers are because there are so few of them.
  7. The C-5 can operate from austere locations? Kind of like C-17s can land on dirt runways. Sure, if no one else ever plans on using that runway ever again.
  8. It's a different bucket of money...a big gay bucket.
  9. Noted. Nsplayr does not like crank calls.
  10. Anybody taken the ATP written at an AF education center yet? Is there any harm in showing up and taking it cold since its free? Does your grade show up somewhere the airlines can see it or is it just pass/fail like ACSC, etc?
  11. I say there's no fucking way this happens. The left will have its way and women will be held to a lower standard as has always been the case with this issue. I hope you're right for once, but i just don't see it happening.
  12. You liberals and your feelings. Imagine how I feel every time I walk past a women's locker room and realize I'll never realize my life's dream of getting to change clothes in there. And the Golden Rule applies here , because I also wish women could come in the men's locker room and change clothes
  13. Sounds like these guys had a rough couple days before this flight. Two days off in Rome and almost non-existent flight planning facilities in which to read through the flight plan that somebody else did for them? Instead of punishment they should be submitted for DFCs.
  14. So are saying you're a school select with no AAD? I didn't think that was possible in this day and age.
  15. Seems to me the CIA does quite a bit of shooting.
  16. My post is based off advice that was almost twenty years old when it was given to me 10 years ago, so I took it with a grain of salt. Plus I've always assumed there was some kind of doctor/lawyer rivalry involved in there. I just like to post unsubstantiated claims on the Internet and see if they'll make it in to some kind of chain e-mail and maybe even Snopes someday.
  17. My wife's uncle was an AF lawyer before switching to the Reserves and having a successful civilian career. His advice: refuse to be seen by any active duty doctor with silver leaves or chickens on his shoulders. His very sound reasoning was if the doc could have gotten out and gone to private practice, he would have.
  18. Glad he made it out safe. Also, apparently the Marines are a corporation (corp.) now instead of a corps.
  19. Little Rock belongs in the WTF thread. O-3 with dependents went up $159 or almost 12%! Side note: For O-4s with dependents it went up exactly $69.
  20. Awesome. It took me 8 years to get somewhat competent at using CFPS, now I get to start over. Is JMPS at least more user friendly?
  21. I'm pretty sure privilege only exists in flight safety. When I went through in 2010 they taught us not to offer privilege and only give it if the witness wouldn't talk or if they asked for it. They also said no one would ever fault an FSO for giving privilege, so I would just walk in and have guys sign a statement saying their statement was privileged anyway.
  22. Quarterly FOD Council is by far the most ridiculous thing in the Air Force. Pictures of all the FOD that was found and then awards for finding FOD. Then bragging that it has been 6 years since we had a FOD incident...on a base that only has planes that intentionally land on gravel.
  23. My first time dropping HALO (without a navigator) I was actually instructing it. And as far as I know, there are no written TTPs for how to actually do a jump master directed HALO drop in the J-model. So the first time I had a jump master give me MGRS coordinates and tell me to just turn the green light there, I was calling buds back home on the way to the plane and then making stuff up as I went. I'm lucky I'm not sitting in Leavenworth.
