Joke is on you. There's no real Southern BBQ in Montgomery.

Well, there were two guys on the ground and they weren't shot down. But much thanks to your TRAP brothers. Awesome work from the Marines and great to have them nearby.

My CC emailed out the list of bills for this past one. I never saw an updated .doc for the Spring VML, just a simple list in email form.

That's why we have Comm Wings now. Maybe we should just make EVERYONE wear a flightsuit. Wouldn't that be awesome? -
Isn't Alaska part of the United States of America?

Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
schokie replied to Swizzle's topic in Squadron Bar
What is the source of your data? According to TSP.gov the I fund earned 24.1% over the past 12 months, the S fund had 31.08%, C fund 19.35%, F fund -1.43%, and G fun 1.67%. I'm currently 40% in C and 60% in S. I moved into those about 6 months ago out of the L2040. However, I'm still at 18.76% according to TSP's Personal Investment Perfomance calculator which subtracts out monthly deposits and only reflects investment earnings. I could have done better by going 100% S, but I wanted more exposure to large cap stocks vs mid cap to minimize some volitility and risk.- 1,190 replies

I didn't think the Korean movie was THAT bad.

The Strike Eagle has a cockpit but we still use the term cabin pressure.

PM me your email address and I'll send you a legit pub/food/beer review of the East Anglia area. It's not like yelp, but it will have all the info you need.

Dupe, What do you think about Flight Test Engineer? I'm slightly ignorant on the topic, but from what I've heard it sounds like it might match up nicely with Luke_C's interests and concerns. How much flying do they actually get to do?

I love Ranger IPA. I'm not claiming it as the best I've ever had, but it solid all around.

Wrong. There are only 8 AMRAAMs in that picture. That is why you're not being taken seriously. Among other reasons of course. Tonka, God bless you. What an amazing post.

M2 doesn't even need a boat right now. https://www.cnn.com/2013/05/25/us/texas-san-antonio-flooding/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 I'm sorry to hear about the loss of his most recent firearm purchases during the Great Flood of 2013. However, I do hope that he and his family have stayed safe (and dry).

I"ve been getting that as well on my ipad for the past day or so. It only seems to happen periodically. If I wait about 30 mins everything seems ok for at least the next few minutes. I would have reported it sooner, but I get that error everytime I try to post in this thread.

But what would you do in an emergency if the SOF wasn't there to ask you if you ran the checklist and what your plan is? Maybe we should get FE's to sit SOF. I have sat SOF countless times and there have only been a handful of instances where I genuinely feel that my being there and interjecting into the situation saved the day. Not that I'm a shitty SOF, just that most aircrew are actually competent and able to handle an EP on their own. The rest of the time I'm just a glorified note taker for the OG. Oh, and the alternate's changed. You didn't get the word? Sorry about that.

They are correct that your commander can order you to move back on base. He doesn't need an AFI or JFTR to do that. But if he hasn't issued guidance and it's just the random receptionist at Lodging that's giving you issues, then ignore them and stay off base. Remember that Lodging doesn't pay your travel voucher, Finance does. I wouldn't worry about getting the Non-A rewritten. If you read the JFTR you'll see that you only need proof that there were no rooms available on base for Day 0 when you asked for a reservation. If that's not good enough, then just write your own MFR as mentioned above.

Great news. I start a 179 at the CAOC next week and am actually looking forward to the quality of life there.

That's what I'm hoping will happen. Being stationed overseas has made it tough to make the purchases I'd like. I might have to start sending cash my dad's way so he can stock up for me. If nothing else I need to buy more 10/22 mags. I'm afraid they'll be collateral damage in the high cap mag war.

Saw that happen here as well. Great dude, respected leader, WIC grad, but he failed his test and was fired the next day. Happened about a year and a half ago.

I have a 5 gal brew pot that I've been happy with for several years. However, I'm just a simple extract brewer. At some point I'd like to move to all grain brewing, which means I'll need a bigger pot. The smaller pot suits me just fine now, but if I had started over again, and knowing I was going to stay with the hobby, I would have gotten the bigger pot to begin with. You shouldn't be brewing your own beer to save money. That's the excuse I offer to the wife, but in reality it's like any other hobby. If you like beer, you might as well invest in the proper equipment from the beginning.

I've seen flyer to flyer marriages where they weren't allowed in the same formation, much less the same aircraft. However, those several cases have been where both of them were AD. I have also seen a C-130 AC fly his family (wife included) in the aircraft he was PIC for to an airshow. I didn't ask what AMC/A3V thought of it. All of those cases were in USAFE FWIW. It seems to be a distinct difference between being on the flight orders or just being a pax. There also seems to be a large difference between MAJCCOMs. That would explain the varied answers in this thread.

What press are you using? I currently use a single stage RCBS press which works just fine for 308 in my bolt action rifle, but I'd like to step up my game for my pistol cartridges. I'm reloading them with the single stage press, but it's starting to become a bit of a pain in the ass. Well, it WAS until I PCSd to the UK, but I'd like to have something lined up when I move back to the Land of the Free.

That right there is job satisfaction that no civilian job can match.

Never mind. Forget I said anything about being an EWO. I have no idea what he's talking about.
