  1. C-method is still all the rage in ACC. Dunno about the rest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Shut-up Nav.....unless of course you can contribute something to this forum other than your stereotypical pilot hater garbage. Seriously bro, we all have a role to play. But we are not all created equal, and the world isn't fair. Grow up, and just stop. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for the re-cage Liquid. These are dark times for our service/military/country as a whole, so it's easy to lose the big picture. Like the others, I find myself hungry for some great flying, a clearly defined mission, and a no-kidding focus on its execution. While you are undoubtedly right about the BS and admin in past wars, I can say that in my 10 years of service, the garbage has snowballed considerably. I don't think that folks want the combat of years past. They want the focus in the right place. General Welsh is trying for sure, but there is a lot to fix. Flaco makes some great points. I for one still love my job, but you must admit that our beloved service has become somewhat wussified and distracted in recent years. I would imagine our Joint brethren feel much the same about their own services.
  4. Oh brother. Agreed....Cripple fight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Fly for the AF long enough and it doesn't matter much. After a couple thousand hours we are all marketable regardless of HARM buffoonery.
  6. That pretty much captures it...yes. And that pilot will likely be Huggy ;)
  7. So I was referring to a passed over Major vs a Lt Col at 20 yrs, which will in fact cost you that much. I see now that the question was in regards to being shorted one year in grade, thereby making the impact on your three year average much lower. Still significant IMO.
  8. Dude......it affects your retired pay. 50% of the average of your last 3 years of service, for the rest of your life. Retiring one grade lower will cost you half a million dollars in the long run. I'd call that a disadvantage personally.
  9. I see what you're driving at, but ATC gets off Scott free all too often. This pilot was a total goon, but I think the controllers should be held responsible for poor monitoring of the approach.
  10. Good God man! Resounding NO!
  11. Fair enough man. I just don't want you getting hammered for low SA. Doesn't make me a FAIP or a Douche-bag either Danger and Sky King. The kid needs to hear it when he is getting ready to step on his schwantz. If your communities don't do the same for your new guys....well, good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. No offense taken. And yes, I am saying no. It's because I have personally witnessed bros get their ass handed to them over this kind of stupidity. Old and cynical? Maybe, but only because precedent has been set many times over. If the dude wants to fly with a go-pro, he'll do it. Doesn't mean it's a good idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You sound like an entitled little SNAP. Hard to digest or not, these folks are giving you good advice. Secondly, your screen name is presumptuous and needs to be earned. Good luck at UPT. But enjoy a slice of humble pie before you go. It might make the next year of your life a little easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Slick, look at what you've done to this thread. Please just come up for air and let someone else talk for a bit mkay? Thanks.
  15. Him him....
  16. Kuma.....enjoy the 330. Prettiest airliner out there if you ask me. Heck of a lot of wing for a two engine jet!
  17. Absolutely you can make a career out of it. I'm a former T-38 FAIP doing just that. And I am not alone. There are quite a few of us, Huggy included.
  18. Exactly. But not to worry....that's why the interview exists. We see if you can handle the jet, but only if you aren't first sent home for douchebaggery. And yes, Huggy is the man. Wheelz
  19. Which is absolutely retarded.....trust a U-2 bubba. The bros out here at Beale have a pretty good idea what is happening to these guys, and it ain't just hypoxia. Granted, you definitely need a G-suit to fly the Raptor, but operating at those alts without a full pressure suit and a pre breathe is risky business.
  20. Dude....the T-38A is a thing of beauty....and it flies better in many ways. Take it from a guy with a healthy amount of T-38C hours. That said....one UHF radio and a tacan receiver makes it challenging in busy airspace. But this shortcoming also contributes to very little heads down time and lots o looking outside and enjoying the jet. All good man.....we love it. Wheelz
  21. You continue to refer to 9-11 as if a computer is incapable of such horrible acts. Just why do you think cyber command was created? For every innovation in unmanned system operation, there is yet another innovation with the goal of exploiting that technology. The world is an ugly place dude. Like us or not......pilots are gonna be around a while.....and for good reason.
  22. It's not insecurity there fella. It's the fact that for everybody like you......there is someone else who would give an important piece of his/her anatomy to jump in and let you have your desk job. Something to think about. As for me: 1. Better 2. A resounding YES! Wheelz
  23. Surprisingly it weighs very little. And as far as manned vs unmanned....you need only look as far as the current AF budget proposal. We are gonna be around for a bit. Wheelz
  24. That's a great video, nice find dude! That said.....there is a reason the agency abandoned the endeavor. There were only a handful of guys qualified to do it and the risk was more than slightly elevated. Still.....I'd give it a try. :)
