  1. That was a fun day Steve. Ellie made it easy.....it was inspiring to see someone her age so interested in the jet.
  2. I think it's more impressive that a guy would start posting on this forum, start a rumor of heinous proportions before establishing any credibility, and have the balls/SA to throw spears when called out for it...but thats just me.
  3. Holy cow! I dont even have the words. I'm proud of what we all do............but damn.............how about some real leadership?
  4. Reference previous clown act comments.
  5. Huh?
  6. Turning pages requires time and patience....and the Deuce gives you plenty of both. iPads and kindles work just fine up there.
  7. Classy Craftsman. Dude, it means that you will get two years flying a pretty interesting/important mission and building airmanship/experience before most likely being sent to another ACC Recce assignment, preds included, or......you could apply to the U-2. In any case, have fun flying the MC-12. Wheelz
  8. Yeah....and in the winter it's amazing how warm the suit keeps ya. Evading for three hours in that thing in 20-30 degree temps.....no problem!
  9. Long time coming, but it looks like sanity has finally prevailed. As for the recruiting question....we are ALWAYS looking for good people to fly with us. Fill out an app dude.
  10. If it ain't Boeing.......I ain't going.
  11. Get out of the US military.....go to work for the RAAF........and don't talk about fight club. Valid point, but I'm not sure it would be a show stopper. Sounds like an interesting deal to me.
  12. Ever been to Beale?
  13. Yes, but they all had fixed wing time as well, which is a requirement. Check out the beale.af.mil website and look at the U-2 application link. It's all spelled out there. Wheelz
  14. Sure it does. 5-6 sustained G's plus bad ergonomics, plus keeping a tally on a small jet, plus challenging energy considerations. No, it's not a modern marvel. But when someone trys to re-invent the wheel 50+ years down the road, and G level is their only consideration....sorry, the T-38 is still a darn good IFF trainer.
  15. Then explain the photographs ace. That tail section did NOT come from a 60 or a 47, unless it was very different from the ones we all know and love.
  16. The system is different on every aircraft, but this is unsat for an aircraft with cabin altitudes like they can get to. Fix that shizzle.
  17. Damn it! Totally fell for that. Well played sir.
  18. Partially correct. You may indeed be leaving your MAJCOM. The caveat however is that nothing in the AF is an absolute. We have had pilots leave the program move on to a suprisingly varied number of assignments. The most easy answer is certainly another ACC recce assignment, but that is by no means written in stone. Huggy can definately comment with more detail on this, but don't let this assumption stop you if you are interested in the program. We generally do our best to take care of our own. Wheelz
  19. If you aren't willing to entertain the idea of at least 3 years after training, you probablly need not apply. We have to get our money's worth out of you just like any other MWS. Honestly, we don't really run into this problem very often however. Odds are, you will like the U-2 well enough to stick around a while....assuming we like you enough to hire you.
  20. This one hits pretty close to home. Godspeed gents.
  21. Just....wow.
  22. The T-38 doesn't have "huge" issues with asymetrical thrust either, but it doesn't take much to induce a stall when you are that slow. Doesn't matter if the engines are 6 inches from fuselage centerline or 6 feet. When one is producing more thrust than the other, and especially during transient states, a yaw moment is induced. Bottom line, at the speed and AOA he was flying at, even a small change in yaw could be nasty if you don't catch it early. Wheelz
  23. Ehh....looks to me like the right nozzle is choked down for military or dry thrust. Guessing he lit the blowers to get out of slowflight and only the left nozzle opened giving him an asymmetric push to the right without enought speed for flight control inputs to fix it. Bad day.
  24. Holy Crap! Well done......let's see if he can be beat!
