  1. He’s still at Hill! I don’t know how these guys stay so long working with the gov. It’s pretty straight forward - he purposely rotated way early (e.g. ignored the fact that you don’t rotate until rotate speed) and then threw the gear handle 1 sec after weight off wheels. Either because that was his normal habit and it just hadn’t bit him yet or he was shining his ass on a takeoff out of Fallon at grad 1v1 doing a “low transition” as it has been called. RC: He had been taught poorly by his IPs up to that point or he was a young guy doing dumb shit (we’ve all been there in one way or another).
  2. @HuggyU2 The -1 performance data is bad, or ACC’s “gonkulator” TOLD is bad? Assuming something of the latter nature, is ACC literally ignoring the problem when shown T.O. guidance is different than MAJCOM guidance? No skin in the game, but I’m really curious now.
  3. In case anyone wants to know what @Biff_T was up to you while you were banging out wing standup slides… FullSizeRender.MOV
  4. Guard bonus is out (now called EARI instead of AvB…OPR bullet!) Looks the same as last year at a quick glance.
  5. Make mail-in voting illegal in all 50 states and require state-issued ID to vote. That should have happened yesterday and would solve the issue helodude is talking about. However, still doesn’t address the IO campaign the DNC and media/tech are leveraging. Admittedly the RNC would do the same thing if they weren’t so inept and fragmented (and actually had media/tech on their side), so this isn’t a partisan statement, it’s just stating the current situation.
  6. Was the 2020 election “stolen?” No, I don’t think so as there is no evidence of large scale, impactful voter fraud. But was it substantially skewed towards one candidate through a concerted effort at the fed and state level in collusion with media companies and big tech, fuck yeah it was. And that to me is just as big of a problem as “direct” voter fraud.
  7. All about it, but I’m sure they’re not resourced for standard O&Bs to CO, UT, NV, etc. The XC is probably the only realistic opportunity. But I’m not a UPT guy, so just speculating.
  8. Sure, in a perfect world with tons of resources. But really high DA is more a flight planning emphasis than execution. In the end, while speeds are higher and distances are longer, pulling back on the stick at the correct speed and confirming positive rate of climb prior to moving the gear handle are the same actions regardless of DA. Edit: And maybe I’m just old now, but young guys, you are not cool for getting the gear up as low as possible. Don’t be an idiot and shine your ass trying to “max perform” your takeoff.
  9. The guy said Fox3?! Wow, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I’ve worked with some awesome 64 guys, but I also have been surprised at some of the mouth breathers flying them.
  10. Oh he did wrong - rotated at 120 because that’s the arbitrary technique he picked up somewhere, with zero regard for actual rotate speed (in this case 136 on card, 143 actual conditions). He also raised the gear 1 sec after perceived takeoff. Both of those actions are completely wrong and if he ever had an IP tell him either, that guy deserved to have his IP qual taken away. This was more than a simple error on the lineup card. @BashiChuni It’s almost like you should confirm sustained, positive climb rate before raising the gear in any aircraft. Basic pilot shit…that i assume is still taught at UPT these days, or at least I hope so.
  11. I know several dudes who’s wives were living in Korea, but they were claiming BAH back in the states. Nobody went to jail at least, but they got very lucky with good leadership at the time.
  12. Well if we’re counting UAS as shoot downs, guess I’m damn near an ace! (/sarcasm)
  13. The CEO should have been out yesterday, why does he get until 31 Dec!
  14. There are various grants and loan options. IMO, it’s better to get your finances prepped so you can afford to be consistent (2-3x week ideally) vs. “pay cash” as you’re able (i.e. very inconsistent if you don’t have high income). The loan will be worth it. Also the reserves may offer some options, so look into that.
  15. Me the first time taxing at ORD:
  16. Either you misunderstood or they gave you horrible advice. Good on you for asking, it was not a dumb question. As mentioned above, watch out for common “make an extra buck” scams like cinder blocks in a trailer, moving an extra car in a trailer and claiming that as HHG weight, etc. There’s a lot of “tricks” out there that people claim is no big deal, but will actually screw you very badly if caught. Never worth it.
  17. Am I reading this correctly that the plan is put your parent’s electricity bill in your name (or similar) and that’s good enough for BAH? That is 100% fraud and will fuck you.
  18. You may have enlisted into a unit, but you’re not permanently assigned until after you’re back from all your schools. If you are married and your wife is living back in the unit’s town, there’s a case for BAH. If somehow they do permanently assign you the unit, and send you TDY to school, then that would also be valid BAH. Those are the only two valid ways to get BAH while you’re in the training pipeline.
  19. 150 hrs gets you in the right seat?! Yep, never flying those guys.
  20. It would not bring any value add to the SEAD mission, and is much less capable in that role than the F-35. But that’s not a dig on the Raptor, it was never designed for that role. Old jets belong at the 65th as mentioned above…that is one of the best ideas I’ve heard the AF have in the last 10 years, too bad it’s taking them about 10 years too long to implement a good idea.
  21. That’s called an F-35
  22. So how good was the flight attendant “mishap” before the unintentional decent?!
  23. Young guys are in a tough spot, not like there’s a bunch of TXs floating around the guard right now. But, even they can hop on the airline train if they desire, but understandably that’s usually the furthest from your mind as a young fighter pilot. Good luck boys, hope you get to wherever you want to end up.
  24. There’s a balance to what I’m about to say, but a while ago people went through life acknowledging that everyone has shit happen to them, has a hard day/week/month/year, etc. People sucked it up and persevered, because there was no other good option. The weak ones didn’t make it. And that was life. Nowadays, there’s so much push for therapy and talking about feelings, and it’s OK to be sad and confused and blah blah - how about sack up and get on with life. I mean the first thing I said, which is there’s a balance. I’m not anti-mental health and taking care of it. But when I see large majorities of people not being able to handle their fragile emotions, I have to say most of them just need to suck it up and stop being weak little candy asses. But they won’t, because our society and culture enables them to be weak. Leave the mental health work for those who truly need it, and not for every swinging dick who’s simply a pussy because they were never taught an ounce of resiliency.
  25. Hard to say, but probably fairly equal when averaged out (assuming full time guard). Guard maintenance is way better on average, so that probably gives an edge to the guard guys. All subjective feelings, not based on data.
