  1. It's a stupid question...you know the right answer.
  2. That's completely false. Maybe someone told you it helps in some guard units to be a member going for a UPT board, but that's where the "help" ends. System knowledge has zero to do with getting into UPT.
  3. Mostly, but the point is, if I need to pull out an apch plate, I don't want something the size of an IPAD on my leg...the reason I bring up a kindle is because it's about the same size as a VOL XX and is lighter than an IPAD. An IPAD is WAY overkill for the fighter world, but I can see the utility in a community who does a lot of flying in "random" parts of the world and needs more than the occasional apch plate.
  4. Too big and bulky for practical fighter use. I could see something more along the lines of a kindle size...would be nice to just throw something like that in the map case for the 1/200 flights I actually use FLIP (the real benefit would be the ease of FLIP update).
  5. Related topic...anyone ever seen a special order for an Omega Speedmaster?
  6. I read it as a 100% pitbull. He's not, so you're fine...unless he is aggressive and therefore someone could claim he falls under the "individual dogs that demonstrate..." sentence. Just say he's a boxer if anyone asks and don't make a big deal out of it...I think you'll be fine. And just remember, you may not always have a choice of whether you can live off base or not. Secondly, what a fucking stupid policy...I know tons of people with every type of breed in that list and the dogs are great and not aggressive at all. It's jackass owners who have forced bad rep on these breeds.
  7. Yep, because J-10s, J-11Bs, and all their toys are no big deal for our aging fighters and our non-existent F-35 super-awesome-too-big-to-fail fleet. And worst of all, they probably all use LOX instead of OBOGS...we're fucked.
  8. Tried it out two days ago in the jet...works awesome! The sound quality is pretty damn good and the on/off toggle switch is far easier to use then the ipod's touch screen when you just want a quick mute to talk on the radio. Completely worth the $50...especially for those long, boring sorties.
  9. No shit. Such a waste.
  10. No shit. We've got the tailkits and the numbers planned, mother may I? No? OK, we'll just lock them out...every fucking time. What a bunch of horse shit.
  11. I'm with Ram...guess we're in the minority. Thank God.
  12. No it's not...that's what about 90% of dudes did when I was at ASBC and everyone did fine. You just really suck if you can't pass those test, plain and simple.
  13. Based on knowledge of M2's gun collection, I'd say CH wins for overall accuracy. And I'm totally following M2's lead when I get out.
  14. Well played Ram, well played.
  15. WTFO! A LT doesn't need an LOC to fix the snackbar, a simple ball crushing from a bro will fix that problem. What a d-bag sq/cc.
  16. You're a completely retarded chick who failed EVERY measured event, but on her way to a silo, so I guess no one gave a shit.
  17. It'll probably be a repeat of back in the day when the AF had pretty much thrown the A-10 to the side and said we don't need it...until the Army said they'd take it...whoa now! Then Desert Storm came around and minds were completely changed. So, seems to me we may be making a repeat mistake from our history...weird, that never happens.
  18. I think you're probably wrong. Why...because TONS of dudes have EE/Comp Sci/whatever degrees and fly. Your major never has mattered, GPA matters. The only caveat is if you potentially signed some binding contract stating you agree to be a ____ AFSC in the AF upon commissioning. Perhaps your CC ranking was not as high as you thought. When it comes down to it, everyone gets an OM score and there's a cutoff. There are no points or negative points based on what your major is. Sorry it didn't work out for you, but I think there's more behind this than you think or know about.
  19. I don't think it'll be that big of a deal, considering my current TTP is an earbud in one ear and my only mute option hitting the pause button on my touch (which can be a PITA). Can't wait to try the patch cable out.
  20. True, but you should see it when you're batting clean up. It's the first time in my life I was glad to be in MOPP 4.
  21. Perfect, I'll be flying another pond hop in a few weeks. Does the music mute/vol decrease during TX/RX or is it just on you to flip the on/off switch or pause the music when necessary?

    TBAS

Then tell your generation to stop being such a bunch of pussies. Seriously, it's just a little test, what the hell is everyone so paranoid about? At the point you're a freshman/sophomore in college taking this thing, you either have hand-eye coordination and memory skills or you don't. No amount of doing lame stuff is going to make any measurable amount of difference. But whatever, it's up to you if you'd rather spend your free time in college juggling or playing computer games than going to parties or doing other interactive activities.

    TBAS

No shit...whatever happened to the days when prepping for the TBAS meant cutting yourself off at 10 beers the night before? Flash cards, computer games and juggling...WTFO.
  24. It doesn't make sense because you don't understand it, which is exactly why you should ask questions. Any IP not willing to take questions is a horrible IP, so yes, ask away, but realize there's a right way to ask a question and a wrong way. Additionally, don't be the guy who could easily find the answer in writing, but is too lazy to read the -1, 2-XXv3, etc. If you read something and don't understand it (including why it's done that way) then ask, but put some effort into finding and figuring it out yourself first.
  25. Didn't know Rainman got into the ISR gig. Guess you gotta get your flying fix one way or another.
