What's wrong with the Air Force?
What could go wrong…thank god I’ll be retired before such abomination comes to fruition

That’ll change once they realize how much fatass America is tanking their revenue. What a stupid idea.

Reapplying To Former Unit
No judgement, we all have to make hard decisions that we didn’t expect to face. Personally I recommend you revaluate the reason you’re seeking to leave your current unit. If it’s because you regret not going T-38s and want another shot, you’re making a mistake (you will burn the shit out of bridges while also not getting into a fighter squadron). If it’s for other life/work reasons, then I recommend you look for an alternate unit that flies the same/similar aircraft. Talk to your current sq/cc about whatever issues are going on, and continue to produce for the unit until the day you leave for whatever is next.

Reapplying To Former Unit
So you decided on your own to turn down 38s/a guard fighter slot and go T-1s? That’s not a spear, as there are completely legitimate reasons for why someone may do that. But, if that’s the story in a nutshell, then I imagine you have a nearly zero % chance of flying fighters for any unit. I’m all for “you miss every shot you don’t take,” but don’t have false hope and burn a bunch of energy (or bridges) on this pipe dream.

No shit. He made the bad decision (drugs plus knowing he was mentally struggling, and still took a JS). He needs to get a substantial sentence…he deserves it, and there needs to be a precedent set.

Russian Ukraine shenanigans
Politicians are such pieces of shit. The best fix is remove 100% of them, enact term limits, then start over. Everyone does 8 max and done. One can dream…

Shield Arms makes a integrated folding stock lower, and they do 15% off for mil. That’s the next one I’m getting.- Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
Meanwhile in the guard you can get $50k for 3 years…and not be on AD. The AD gave up on retention a long time ago. The bonus sways zero people to stay in; 100% of takers were going to stay in anyways and the money was just icing on the cake. Change my mind.- P-8 Poseidon slides off Runway
That is a lot of VA Ave time!- Finding A New Unit
Don’t have a break in service. If you’re moving immediately, then at least maintain TR status, even though that’ll include travel for you. Work with your current CC to only come every other month and combine RUTAs to make up a full work week, etc. The easiest transition is obviously to a same-aircraft unit, but you certainly could find another unit who will TX you. Worst case, you can find a points-only job in the new location to avoid break in service, but probably undesirable to stop flying, even if temporarily.- Guard assignments
@Props The couple ways I’ve seen it work is through VLPAD and switching to another state’s ANG that has individual billets posted at FTU units. I’m not sure if any state ANG has UPT billets, but precedent is set for AETC/ANG relationship. You could always reach out to MS/OK/TX JFHQs (or squadron bros in those states) to see if any UPT billets exist.- What's wrong with the Air Force?
And “health” is misspelled on the sign behind “her.” This is AI or a shitty photoshop job. And Gen Dumbass bought hook, line and sinker.- What's wrong with the Air Force?
The definition of “alt right” is actually, “anything that isn’t in line with progressive ideology.” Same can be said for the opposite side. What if we just defined things for what they are, and only attached the “extremist” label on things that truly are an extreme departure from the majority. Hint, organizations like Turning Point are not extreme.- P-8 Poseidon slides off Runway
I always said I’d fly anything, but it only takes a couple JS rides to know I will avoid that Boeing shit like the plague!- P-8 Poseidon slides off Runway
2026 airline interview: “We see you had a mishap in the Navy, can you tell us about that” ”well you see, I have long maintained a personal policy of never go around, because that’s what pussies do!”- Starship baby
“But why armed Biff?” - Elon ”Because I fucking want them, that’s why!” - Biff ”Well I’m convinced, here’s a no limit CC, go buy what you need” - Elon- Guard assignments
We have guard guys all over the place, still with their home unit, but doing X: IPs at FTU, staff in DC/Europe, going to school, working in Science and Tech land, operational test, etc. There are quite a lot of opportunities for dudes to branch out if they want to take a break from the “standard grind” at their home unit.- Starship baby
side hustle retirement gig: Flying Space X MiGs…I’m in!- AC-130J 105 Removal?
@ClearedHot I’m not as worried about the equipment as I am about the CAS knowledge/culture. But of course you need an MDS or two to keep those alive. If we needed to, we could strap rocket pods, whatever EO/IR sensor pod we wanted, bring tons of bombs to the fight, put some “CAS enhancing” capabilities in the software, etc. in an F-35. It’d be pretty damn good at it…but even in that hypothetical, where’s the CAS knowledge and personal capability of all the pilots who don’t even know how to spell CAS at that point? To me, that continued culture is what we critically need, more so than insert-old-MDS flying to 2050. As an example, shifting CAS to a primary on some ARC F-16 DOC statements could do the trick…it’s not the “perfect MDS,” but it would maintain CAS-focused pilots.- AC-130J 105 Removal?
You haven’t been tracking all the pieces, but your statement makes more sense now.- AC-130J 105 Removal?
They are backfilled by more capable assets, what are you talking about?- AC-130J 105 Removal?
Yep! I mean even as the secondary I’d laugh…tertiary at best. - Gun Talk
