“Foreign external augmentation of Defense” Pronounce it “Fay-Add” Whoever wants to make LtCol? There’s your OER bullet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dude that’s like being afforded the opportunity to commit Seppuku. The only thing that makes it some sort of, “honorable” is a BS desire by the rest of us to will it that way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I mean there is more than enough reporting sources flat saying advice was given and overruled. They just aren’t stating it near as loudly and with outrage as if somebody else had done it. I mean yes I’m in the military and I’ll carry out orders even when stupid… but damn sure I’m gonna say to my boss this is F’ing dumb and will get people killed in the process of reminding us we could have done it better this other way. Fact is Biden and his staff gambled this wouldn’t happen, and lost. Now they are trying to slip out of that ownership with any chaff and flare they can throw. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I mean… it’s a pretty basic principle of establishing any form of ground security that 2 is 1 and 1 is none. Overlapping fields of fire from mutually supporting positions, stuff like that is a requirement. It was never an either or with Kabul or BAF. The people asking why abandon BAF are doing so because what kind of idiot leaves themselves with only one security position and no mutual support. We could have just as soon operated both, and left both at the same time. That would have actually made sense… which is probably why we didn’t do it. We are actually repeating a mistake learned by the Marines during Lebanon, and again 15 years ago with Restrepo, but like most AARs, it was filed in a filing cabinet we set on fire and buried underground. ItS jUsT a StU..sTu..StUtTeR…. The C’est la Vie attitude over this by some is truly amazing. If Trump was in that seat they’d already be having an impeachment proceeding or screaming for the 25th amendment. Change parties, oh everything is fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Star wearing officers granted specific immunity to the 15 flight lead, specifically so that he could testify against the guy who didn’t have a missile or the ability to launch one at a friendly aircraft. That’s a pretty glaringly visible attempt at protection of the favored sons at the cost of your red headed step child. That incident exposed a whole list or problems across the entire theatre and joint ATO process well beyond the station in that AWACS. The theatre took no efforts to integrate the Army into the ATO, and knew for nearly 2 full years they were in that arena not squawking modes and codes for any number of reasons… I mean make a list… and we did… and fixed a lot of it quietly off scene End of the day though you own that bullet. It’s right there with LtCol Hayles in the Apache or Papov running on the Brits. If the pilot that actually has ordnance on their aircraft goes into an engagement seeking to employ and looking specifically for reasons to allow themselves to do it, it will get around the failure prone mission control elements put in place to protect from fratricide. I wonder what Vegas odds are right now on us getting out of this without losing a C17. I feel like with as much a disaster this has been we are going to see one burning before this is over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Light grey and Raptor guys somewhere… fuming at the idea that Super Hornets might get another air to air kill before they do… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m sure it’s written down somewhere… Anybody wanna guess at the amount of cost and effort expended to build secure compounds in a hurry on Kabul… Vice using the airfield you’ve had for decades with dozens of literal compounds on it. The North ECP was even “proof tested” in December of 19. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They are currently making big PR about the rapid repurposing of facilities at Rammstein to house large groups on cots. I don’t think the first point intermediary’s like Oman/Kuwait/UAE are the intended point to remain for anything long term or large group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Soviets faced an enemy being funded and equipped by a Super Power. They were actually doing very decently at establishing Area security until we started pouring billions in aid and weapons via Pakistan and other illicit avenues. It was “order from underneath a boot,” no doubt, but that’s not an unusual place to be for a Communist country. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You know I’d Trump had been in Maralago during something like this the media wouldn’t have shut up about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When this shit show ends, and we start talking about Awards and Citations, the arm chair reviewers better just shut the F up and forward the DFCs for the people over there right now to do this last heavy lifting. You’re taking a vulnerable cargo aircraft into a chaotic situation at best, parking it in front of ever Afghan who wants to escape and loading pax/refueling while the security perimeter hopefully lasts. This is some Berlin airlift worth shit for our Cargo and heavy Helo brethren and it damn sure needs to be recognized as one of the bright spots in this total F up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

https://gazette.com/military/toxic-fort-carson-battalion-commander-returns-to-job-despite-recommendation-to-fire-her/article_004b4d41-b9bd-5385-91cf-79180581003f.html 2 weeks after her command was returned to her she fired every senior warrant officer in the formation. Turns out she had been given the sworn testimony from the investigation complete with names. She also made O6 and was given a command. Mark my words, she will pin her star, and will be the first female Branch commander of aviation in the Army. The system is truly broken. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Some of us know Olympians. It’s not my fault your social circle is so limited. Maybe expand beyond the D&D and R/furry communities. Expand your horizons a bit. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yeah apparently you missed (along with plenty of other things proven in your post history) the fact that some of us are watching and cheering for Olympians both within and outside the big press groups like women’s gymnastics. Every second of air time in ESPN or major media outlets spent on her right now is somebody that went through god knows what to compete at that level not getting that time. So long as the games are ongoing, there are 612 athletes that deserve attention before we dedicate any time to discussing her. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Damn… just to hammer home this point one more time because this randomly came up in my news feed and points out exactly what I’m talking about. It’s like they invested so much, we can’t not point a spotlight at her. Yeah it’s unfair to make her a media mule for the machine, and yes she absolutely deserves to make the choice for herself on what and how she wants to live. This is still ridiculous though that she not competing is still receiving all this attention and limelight. If you’re number 3 or 4 on the gymnastics team or in any other Team USA position, how can you not be outraged that your moment is being hijacked for this. Table her situation and conversation for after the games. This is the time to celebrate champions, and they deserve their time and exposure on the podium. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Except we are celebrating it… Go look at social media people are taking this as an excuse to expose all the times they handed in their chit at whatever challenge the encountered to be applauded by others in this self licking ice cream cone. You wanna quit something fine, good for you, now move the F along. This isn’t about whether it’s right to quit, it’s about a mob of idiots so used to easy self satisfaction in the form of like/upvote/whatever that not only is quitting good, we need to reevaluate why we as a society place so much emphases on success. This is the “everybody gets a trophy” coach still takes you out for ice cream after you lose but on a whole new level. You don’t want to stand on the podium fine, step down and clap for those that do. While the media sphere spends effort and Oxygen in Simone there is a whole team of people earning medals and still putting down that are not being talked about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

While I’m sure a lot of that article is written intentionally to be provocative for the purpose of sharing and therefor add revenue… His points on the “cult of the Loser” and its toxic effect on society and culture are spot on. What next, we gonna have a book deal and movie for the guy that rang the bell 3 days into Hell Week at BUDS? Nothing worth having comes easy. We put champions on a podium for a reason, to stand above those and be awed by those who lack the skill drive and determination to be greater than the herd. That’s not something to be ashamed of, and the people suddenly pushing that narrative were probably picked last at Dodgeball and now feel like thanks to the magic of the Internet they can make that because society is toxic and not because they were the fattest slowest kid in 4th grade no matter how much gram gram told them they were special.
