Any rumors floating around about a time when we should expect to hear something? -

Yup. Both my squadron and wing commander signed off on mine within 2hrs of submitting it and it was referred to the BPO by the end of the day. -
Glad to have him home, but it's a slippery slope.

It's crazy to hear how long some people wait for their requests to make it to AFPC. All three of mine made it through my squadron commander and wing commander within two hours of me putting my request in. -

Who else also applied for the FY15 VSP? Post your year group and AFSC stats here. 2007 11R -
FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
FLY6584 replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
Never received an e-mail, but when I check my "previous application" under "self service actions" it said the following: "The Air Force Personnel Center has approved the maximum allowable voluntary applications for your AFSC/grade/year group/RDTM code or specific weapon system, or your AFSC/grade/year group has been removed from eligibility for this year's programs due to adjustments to manpower requirements. Based on this action, your application has been returned. As a result, you and other Airmen in your AFSC/grade/year group are no longer eligible for any FY14 voluntary or involuntary force management programs." So does that mean we are eligible for the FY15 programs such as the VSP/RIF? You would think a phone call to the TFSC would answer this question, but no surprise they haven't a clue. It figures AFPC would release more confusing information like this right before the FY15 VSP is supposed to open. Does anyone proofread shit at AFPC before sending it out?!?!?!?! -

^^^^ Typical AFPC bullshit. In one sentence they say all approved Airmen will be notified by COB Monday, 19 May and then they go on to say approval notices will go out no later than Thursday, 22 May. So which one is it f@ckheads? Does anyone proofread shit there before releasing it? If you are sick of us calling and asking to be connected to your department. which will never happen anyways, then publish some guidance that actually makes some f@cking sense. I hope the pure hatred I have for AFPC comes out clear in my posts. If it doesn't please let me know and I will try to use more explicit language to convey the disgust I have for that organization. -

Btw does anyone else who is waiting to hear feel like a prisoner who is watching all of his buddies get approved for parole and you're happy for them, but pissed off you're still stuck in this prison? -

For those of us that the jury is still out on let us know if you hear approval today... i.e. the notification/email came today... so that we know whether to keep hope. -

Are you kidding me? Do these clowns not realize that the reason we put in for the VSP is because we want out of this shit hole? -

For the guys that have been approved were you one of the ones that were not initially rejected back in February or did you have to re-apply once the waiver authority came down? -

I will be doing the same. It's actually a lot easier than you think to write your congressman. I hope more of us do the same. Maybe if enough Congressman making congressional inquiries to the Pentagon about this buffonery someone will be held accountable. -

I read somewhere that if you are denied for the VSP, but then RIF'd anyways you still receive the 1.25 because you had originally applied for the VSP. -

The best deal would be to get denied for the VSP and then RIF'd anyways because you would still get the same 1.25 VSP payment, but you would also get transition benefits like 6 months of Tricare, base priviledges for 2 years, and a few more months on AD to save money and log hours. -

I just got off the phone with the TFSC and was told the VSP folks have gone home for the day and she re-stated that Mid-May doesn't mean 15 May and that the Squadron Commanders who heard otherwise are full of a shit. What a joke. Can't say I really expected anything else from them. -

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if all pilot year groups close out prior to the 2015 RIF. The pilots that are worried about the RIF are nuts because there are plenty of guys that are willing to get out voluntarily. In my opinion no pilot needs to be worried about being forced out if you actually want to still be apart of this sorry excuse for an organization. -

Those numbers are pre-VSP numbers. Nobody with a remaining ADSC has been selected for VSP aside from a couple rare cases. Expect those numbers to change if and when they ever make their final decisions on those of us that put in for the VSP. -
Who gives a shit. It's a guaranteed way of getting laid that night. I'm not saying one should rely on a uniform or profession to get a girl in bed, but if asked to wear it by the bride and groom then go for it... and if it just so happens to help get one or more bridesmaids in your bed that night then good on ya as far as I'm concerned.

I'm doing mine at CPT down in Miami. Had a buddy go through who had nothing, but good things to say about it. Classes of 4 people... two teams of two so that should be nice also. I only have about 14 days of leave so that's not really an issue for me. I have never hesitated to take a vacation when I needed it and I most certainly needed it a lot while on AD. Yeah my partner that I'm going through training with got approved for that under rule 15, but he's a LtCol staff guy right now so his Commander wasn't worried about a bunch of guys in a flying squadron putting in for it if he approved it for him. The rule can be interpreted both ways. I can see how a Commander would approve it and I could see how a Commander wouldn't approve it. I'm waiting to see what happens with the VSP before I ask my Commander. Worse comes to worse I'll just use my leave which will suck, but it'll be nice to have that box checked. -

Really? So we get 20 days of job hunting if approved for VSP? I'm scheduled for a 737-Type rating/ATP course in June. Would love to use PTDY instead of taking Leave.
