Anyone else notice the playstation/xbox/whatever game controller the guy on the left is using?

I know someone that climbed over the fence, up on that thing, and pissed all over it. back to the topic, When I was forced to live on base and store my HHG, I was told that it was out of my pocket. The reasoning was that I declined to move my stuff (from a 2 bedroom apt) into the single room dorm, therefore it was my problem. Two years later, leaving that base I was told that it was incorrect and when I tried to recoup the 6 months of storage payments I was told that I was SOL and should have figured it out earlier. So, it's painful to see how they won't give you money you deserve, but won't miss a second when it comes to taking it back. Like I said before, at least they sent you a letter and didn't just take it. 2 on why the heck is someone auditing PCS moves from four years ago???

No I agree, decent is the operative word. This is true. I had a great time. Flew airplanes, drank with my classmates, partied in Wichita/OKC/Stillwater. Had a great class sponsor that let us drink beer and build ridiculously huge bonfires on his property. Then there were guys who acted as if Enid was the total ruination of their life.

I see what he is getting at here. If I forget to claim something when I PCS, I can't go back years later and claim it. (so I've been told) Barring any of the usual responses (this is big blue we are dealing with) why should this be any different just because the roles are reversed? FWIW: at least they sent you a letter and didn't just take the money out of your pay.

Do you have a lot of household goods? I had enough stuff to fill a 2 bedroom apt and they forced me to stay on Vance, without my stuff for six months. The kicker was that I had to pay out of my own pocket to store my HHG until the occupancy level got high enough for me to move. Apparently that was all a bunch of BS and I shouldn't have been force to stay in the dorms. That was back in 07/08, but it seemed like things had changed significantly when I left in 09. But with new wing leadership, who knows. Like osulax said, just give them a call and get a feeling for what the current situation there is like. There's actually a lot of places (apts/conodos/houses) around Enid. Other than people trying to actually buy houses, I didn't know anyone that had a hard time finding a place to live off base.

Those people just suck.

ATC tape According to the NTSB, Roush is the one on the radio questioning the clearance. He is out of the hospital, but has permanent vision loss in one eye. He's adamant he'll be back flying again. (props on the attitude!)

Huggy, that wasn't my intent there. Spoo was a bit better in getting to the point I was trying to make: recognizing a bad setup early on and making the timely decision to go around. You guys both know that decision making is sometimes clouded by the attitude of "I can make this work." There's lot's of external and internal pressures that hamper good decision making. I succumbed to it, I got off lucky and am the better for it. I saw the video of the immediate aftermath, boy were they lucky. Roush is a great guy, I met him a couple times back when I was a FBO line dog. Maybe it was the Premier back then, but I coulda sworn he used to have one of the small Citations. PS You two bastards are lucky to be there...again. I haven't been yet, and missed two great chances to fly up with a buddy in a Cub in years past. Hopefully someday.

Yeah those comments are insane. A friend's neighbor is one of these chemtrail nuts. She stopped by when we were hanging out in the backyard drinking and I wanted to punt her in the vag after she went after me 'the pilot' for spreading chemtrails. There's some woman that lives in San Antonio 10 miles off Kelly's extended center line that posts a bunch of videos of C-5s and their "terroristic harassment" of her. There's more than enough lunatics out there to keep me entertained on YouTube.

Go-arounds are free. Cliche? Yes. True? Yes. -rant on Two weeks ago I butchered an easy approach rather bad, right over the threshold. I should have called my own go, but thankfully the other guy did. We went around to a full stop. What really pissed me off (other than my bad flying) was how the controllers were less than accommodating for us going around. It was eye opening on all accounts, but the fact that ATC was not supportive of our decision to go around really irks me. There was no other traffic at the time in the pattern or landing behind us. Seriously, what would mess their day up more: me going around and giving them 10 minutes of extra work, or crashing on their damn airfield? -rant off Roush undoubtedly was under the same 'must land' pressure that we all experience at one point or another and even more so at Oshkosh. You just have to be a big boy and make the correct call.
