  1. Barber's slim lead grows to 500+, her camp files for a restraining order to keep certain ballots from being counted.
  2. Thought you'd know better!
  3. Maybe this will keep them from stealing iPads and blaming their wives....
  4. Always the dig at the MC-12 roll. Hacker, apparently you cannot say the MC-12 has 'capes'. OPSEC and all. Shit I just said 'capes'. There, did it again. Crap.
  5. Not the least bit. ^this
  6. I may be wrong, buy I still get the impression that the whole "AF wants to transfer MC-12s to the ANG" stems from the response of Texas politicians when faced with losing their TXANG herks. "we'll take the MC-12s AND the C-130Js from Ramstein". Then everyone [insert ANG units about to lose airframes] jumped on that bandwagon. Being pretty far down the chain of 'need to know' it seems that all the talk I see out there is from politicians. Politicians wanted to give all the MC-12s to the Army. Politicians want MC-12s for their states that have no flying mission anymore. Ect ect.
  7. That's my point. Against those kinda numbers and they still got that thing to your front step each year I was there. Silly BQs.
  8. I think it is Born over-reacting, while Lengyel has a better perspective on it. You know he's an Aggie right? I've heard he's a good dude, Old Army kinda guy. Speaking of great traditions....Flight of the Pumkin! Such a good time to watch all you silly BQs struggle to deal with one outfit. I don't remember any pizza parties at OTS back in 06/07. I do remember all three squadrons incessently pranking one another. I also remember killing years of 'tradition' when they made us chip a metric ton of paint off the Hoya rock. As far as gay dancing in the Big Red Bed, I certainly didn't witness that kinda shit while standing in the back of the room so I wouldn't get caught sleeping a second time.
  9. Old man flew helos (HH-52/HH-3/HH-65/HH-60J) and herks (old AF hand-me-downs) for 20+ years. My kid brother and I didn't know any better....both of us went AF. He's a 'fighting falcon pilot' and I'm starting my third aircraft in 3 years. Guess I can't make up my mind. Powered lift time. Two of my cousins also serve(d): one was an ANG life support guy for a bit, the other is currently an EOD tech with a bunch of deployments. edit for cousins
  10. Wow. Kinda damming on the Gulfstream team. Also noticed there was no section on crash survivability. Most NTSB reports I've read have one.
  11. That'll be rather useful for those enemy bunkers made out of plywood. (I didn't have sound, so maybe they said something about the test site?)
  12. At ~130,000ft or 24.6 miles, he'd be able to see approximately 430 miles. The closest body of water to Roswell is the Sea of Cortez, slightly over 500 miles. So no....no water. Maths.
  13. Screen grab from the Viper West Demo up in Sacramento:
  14. I don't think it matters much, you don't see much more than someone's nugget and shoulders when they are in the water.
  15. Terrible waste of money. On the same note, why do we have to change the company that makes flight suits every 6-9 days? (or so it seems) Watch out for the recent batch made by Carter Industries. The stitching falls out after one wash. Two brand new bags, both are falling apart at the seams. Litterally! I have several from two years ago made by Equa Industries. Still going rock solid.
  16. Video from folks driving down the highway shows the crossover...no contact between jets. Rather close impact to them as well. https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ee1_1348112130
  17. I had an AE crew recently loading large pelican cases that felt like they were full of lead. I asked what they had inside...."pubs". In a jet where space is an extreme premium, that shit has got to go. I carry my paper pubs per to stay legal, but use an iPad in the cockpit because it's practical, fast, and safe (kicked off AP in cruise more than once with my pub kit). But just like anything else in the AF, this change requires money, time, and some poor sap to run the program in your SQ. I don't see it happening anytime soon...or quickly for that matter.
  18. It was Glenn Smith on the team. Godspeed. HopperFlight Team Page
  19. Bring the truck. The pro's (too many to list) outweigh the cons (small roads, parking). I only know one person that has ever reached their fuel ration, and they were basically driving laps around Germany. Plus... The German train/subway/bus system is legit. We use it all the time. Why worry about drinking and driving when I can take the train and pre/post-game on the train? Genau.
  20. FIFY
  21. back on subject....
  22. CO ANG F-16 did attempted to at Lamar Colorado couple years back after his engine shit the bed. Punched when the jet went off the runway. fvck no!
