  1. Part 2 is out https://cigeography.blogspot.fr/2015/08/the-united-states-air-force-organized_5.html?m=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. does the word "immediately" absolve the pilot of performing a standard rate turn?
  3. it's part 1 of 6...so more to come
  4. specifics. Did he start sobbing? Run screaming out of the room? Stage a sit-in protest, what?
  5. kinda like how the Navy just forked over millions to Microsoft for the privilege of continuing to use WinXP...
  6. Dan, what's your 30 yr VA refi rate right now?

    VA Claims

    https://www.benefits.va.gov/COMPENSATION/resources_comp01.asp I got a 60% rating, so that's over $12k a year tax free I see.

    VA Claims

I guess I got lucky. Used the DAV folks on base as well, but didn't file my claim until 3 months after my DOS (several reasons - didn't want to inadvertently force a DNIF, and wasn't sure of post-separation job plans) . It was filed as a fully-developed claim (this is also important). FIVE WEEKS after the fully-developed claim was submitted I went in for the exam. Three weeks after that I got my rating and my first payment, including back pay back to my DOS. EIGHT WEEKS from filing to seeing $$. Southern AZ (Tucson) VA rocks, btw. I've heard anecdotal stories of multi-year waits in other locales, and so the VA you choose to do the filing at is VERY important. If you don't mind a trip or two to Tucson, I'd highly recommend filing your claim there.
  9. the HH-60 is supposed to be getting it "soon" - it's being tested at the CTF right now (so I'm told). It's only ADS-B Out, so won't help us, but will help others see us. The IRC Hot Topic about it says everyone in the NAS has to have ADS-B Out by 1 Jan 2020.
  10. I've had friends do that and get Options 1 and 3. They didn't experience any 365s due to already high optempo in our community. I think for Option 2 to work, you'd have to petition SECAF. A friend who was separating due to ADCS expiration (paperwork already in and approved) was able to make this happen (getting a DOS earlier than ADSC) with SECAF approval b/c of follow-on job opportunity.
  11. I hope you got out and throat punched that pilot.
  12. interesting quote from that article “He stated that on sharp final another airplane either crossed his path or entered through the taxiway on the runway,” said Cerecke. “Made him make some maneuver to prevent collision with the other airplane and ended up putting the plane into a stall.”
  13. "sorry that article is no longer available" ETA: is the the article you were trying to link? https://www.live5news.com/story/29578829/ntsb-releases-preliminary-report-on-collision-of-cessna-and-f-16 ETA 2: well, that article is certainly an interesting read, to say the least. The ATC transcript especially.
  14. sorry about the post spam! They were throwing a database error every time I tried to post, and then a quick refresh didn't show I'd posted anything, so I tried a couple other forums. Didn't see them posted until several hours later and there wasn't anything I could do about it at that point due to the continued database error. Feel free to delete. BTW, do you check the BODN FB page? Never get the warm fuzzy submitting feedback on the parent page to notify you of the issue. I assumed you got that tho.
  15. When you're going 300 KIAS 15-20 nm vectors is probably the norm.... For me, short vectors FTW and if it's much outside of 8 nm, I'm pinging ATC because they just added 5 minutes of flight time to my flight.
  16. The F-35 thread is the only one I can open without getting a database error. I've tried several threads here and in the other forums with no luck. Also tried logging out and logging back in, again with no luck. Except this thread. Are others having problems? I just tried to post a reply in the F-35 thread with no luck, so trying to create a new thread and see what happens.

  18. rog. EvilEagle is on the AOPA forums and the convo seems to be pretty civil here: https://forums.aopa.org/showthread.php?t=95873 ETA: that AOPA members page on FB says this: "Aviation enthusiasts from all over the world, whether or not they are AOPA members.*** Please Note *** This group is neither affiliated with nor managed by AOPA." and it's a closed group, of which I'm not a part.
  19. please provide link - I just looked on their page and didn't see anything, so maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

  21. The TFR is centered right on a Victor airway, as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. They've been there 4 years and have only received their jets in the last 6 months. Article I read said two of them had just finished FLUG and were 18-24 months away from IPUG.
  24. The CSL got my days pushed to the 30th. Because ADLS will definitely come back up on time, right? Yes, I knew of ADLS down week getting pushed right. Not sure why the CS didn't have any idea ADLS was down, tho.
  25. there is at least one inaccuracy on that list.
