  1. down 12.3% in Valdumpster? That sucks.
  2. There are instructions on the AIS sharepoint site. Go to the portal and search for Advanced Instrument School and you'll get to the sharepoint site.
  3. I evened it out for you...
  4. well I came in only when Pro was released (few months ago), and I got it for free (desktop), so I don't have complaints, as I don't currently have any $$ sunk into it.
  5. not true. If you stick to the desktop version only, then it's a one-time fee and free upgrades for life. You only pay a subscription if you want to integrate with iOS devices.
  6. looks like they changed their pricing model on Nov 8th. But, I would not trust the website, go to the App Store and see what it's priced at. From what I can see on Coradine's FB page, it will be a one-time purchase and then free upgrades for life. I got it when it was free (immediately after the new version was released), so I guess I'm lucky.
  7. LogTen is great on the Mac side, Logbook Pro works well on the PC side (you appear to be combining the two). The latest version of LogTen is free for the desktop version, but costs if you want to integrate any iOS devices. I do fine with the stand alone desktop version. Makes it very easy to do any combo of hrs a hiring authority may want in a report.
  8. your HARM record should have all your data. It's what you review annually for your records review. I recreated my flight log from my HARM record, and in the process found many many errors (that I didn't catch during a records review). It ALWAYS pays to maintain your own flight log.
  9. and you can find the link for the 561 JTS on NIPR to get the AFTTP 3-3.HC-130J.
  10. I will say that having our flight docs fly with us at home helps when they have to fly with us downrange for certain patient care situations that exceed what the PJs can legally do.
  11. I was the IO for a Class A where the mechanism of failure was completely mechanical. During the 4 months of the investigation (including several "pauses" for technical analysis), there was never a HF person assigned to the SIB, nor was one ever volunteered. When I sent the draft Tab T to AFSEC to review about a week out from the outbrief to COMACC, I got back "but you need an HFAC in there" and the ACC HFACS chief was hastily summoned to assist. Since this person had not spent the last 4 months on the SIB like the rest of us, it was ridiculous to expect any useful input at that point. There is an HFAC for Acquisition/Design that we ultimately ended up throwing in there to appease the AFSEC QC review. The MOFE process then removed this as a causal factor 90 days later due to lack of evidence to support the claim. I'm so glad we modified our Tab T for that end result. In between convenings of the Class A SIB, I was the SIO of a Class B. The causal findings revolved around a mechanic and a QA supervisor at an overhaul facility failing to ensure a bolt inside a component was properly torqued. The time between the overhaul and the mishap was 4 years, so it's not like I could get any useful info from them; he mechanic no longer worked for the company anyway and I had no way to track him down. AFSEC wanted me to invent HFACS to assign to these two individuals with no shred of evidence (they QC rejected my final message the day my Class A SIB reconvened for the final push to the finish line). Luckily my NAF (convening authority for the Class B) went to bat for me and we were able to get the final supplemental pushed through. AFSEC also told me I had too many acronyms in my one-liner (insert eye roll here). Well if you only give me 40 fucking characters, I have to abbreviate somewhere! I think the QC process at AFSEC is broken. It should occur BEFORE the SIB deconvenes. What's the purpose of having an AFSEC rep (telephonic or in person) if their review and input to the SIB/SIO isn't good enough to pass muster? If every final message needs an HFAC, which is definitely the vibe I have received in the last several years from AFSEC, then the IOs need to be better trained on HFACS, and the convening authorities need to provide an HF consultant to every. single. investigation. The problem right now is that IOs are being forced to simply invent a link to an HFAC when one might not be present, thus skewing the data over time.
  12. or a tail stinger...
  13. flashing blue and red lights? They aren't cops. And you probably need to retake that color vision test...
  14. nowhere. The leather jacket is authorized while flying. I've known folks to actually deploy with and wear it downrange while flying.
  15. there are only a handful of Mikes in the USAF inventory. And we have 21 Limas waiting in AMARG to be converted to Golfs. Only a select few will fly the HH-60U, by invitation only. My guess is everyone will train on the same platform at Kirtland and LMQT will become a little more robust for those minor differences between the Lima and Golf.
  16. they already told you, they deal with the goddamn customers!
  17. this SII is worded such that there might have been a willful disregard which then resulted in something not good happening. Sorry don't have the exact memo to post, it's loaded in PEX and I'm at home with no access outside a mil network.
  18. does anyone know the background story to the 9 AF SII that was just released regarding checklist discipline/not deviating from checklists? I'm assuming there is more to the story...
  19. still have to go through a recount for it to be official. ETA: Len beat me to it.
  20. she's ahead by 133 votes with 200 left to potentially count (conditional provisional ballots requiring the voter to bring ID to the courthouse by 1700 tomorrow). Since the margin is less than 200 votes, there will be a recount.
  21. you could put in an FOIA request to the AF Safety Center for HATR data related to controlled movement area violations.
  22. McBlinky's lead has dwindled to 179 votes, with about 7,000 provisional votes left to process tomorrow in Pima County.
  23. some pretty hilarious inaccuracies in that list, and definitely some missing data there.
  24. that's the FY14 list (aka last year's list). I'm looking for the release of the FY15 list.
  25. her lead has shrunk to less than 400. There are still 27k ballots to be counted (3k in Cochise County and 24k in Pima County). https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/AZ/53314/148279/Web01/en/summary.html
