  1. THAT is simply amazing. ETA: too bad the stories don't convert as well...
  2. wet
  3. we should send Dennis Rodman to find out what's going on.
  4. if you are a combat veteran, you get free VA health care for 5 years. Go talk to your Veterans Assistance office.
  5. Also, the thread title is misleading, they were TDY from Warner Robins, not stationed at Kadena. https://www.macon.com/2014/10/06/3347532_three-air-force-airman-washed.html?sp=/99/148/198/197/&rh=1 A Toast...
  6. Have you compared AFFES prices to the Apple . com govt store? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. if you buy a MBA or rMBP 2013, you absolutely need to max out the RAM, as you won't be able to do that later. The reason the Macs are more expensive is that they last longer! Doing the math, you would ultimately spend the same amount on Windows machines over the longer period of time that your Mac remains in good working order. Maxing out the RAM "future-proofs" your laptop. I have a mid 2013 rMBP (13") with 16 GB RAM and the 512 GB SSD. May sound like overkill right now, but I plan to hold onto this laptop for a loooong time. Apple also offers a govt discount, and that's how I bought my laptop.
  8. yes, it's posted on the AFFSA/AIS sharepoint site. ETA: the link is right above your post.
  9. sorry, you need to submit a new ticket through the ESD.
  10. go weld a hitch to your bumper. Get a roof rack and a big Thule thing. Rent a uhaul truck and tow your car. make multiple trips. mail your shit. convoy with your friends/parents. borrow someone's truck. hope you get a bit more imagination at UPT.
  11. travel status. You get 1 day per 400 mi (TDY) or 350 mi (PCS). Outside of that, you will be charged leave.
  12. Back when we shared the pattern with the T-6s and T-38s, we just went down to VLD for CEPIs.
  13. and there's still someone coded as an MH-53 pilot even though those were all retired 5 years ago...
  14. were you asking because of this: https://www.10news.com/news/man-says-helicopters-flew-close-to-his-ocean-beach-home-08192014
  15. https://access.afpc.af.mil/vbinDMZ/broker.exe?_program=DEMOGPUB.static_reports.sas&_service=pZ1pub1&_debug=0 Scroll to the bottom to the [RETENTION] section and select MDSACPSUMMARY. It seems that only Hueys and F-35s are happy pilots these days and have a take rate that exceeds the non-take rate. Everyone else is hovering around a 20-30% take rate. And the FY15 numbers aren't better.
  16. while in the pattern yesterday: TWR: "The ceiling is at thirteen thousand feet, and since it's below fifteen thousand, the square pattern is closed." Me: "?"
  17. I'm guessing they got confused because the Test Wing is at Eglin. The 88 TES is at Nellis, however. Also, there are no longer any HC-130N/P aircraft at DM (haven't been for a while now). And no, AMARG doesn't count.
  18. the GO couldn't figure out how to use self-help? Or have his aide do it for him?
  19. all hail the Glorious Commandant
  20. Syracuse also offers a Scrum course through their vet initiative.

I just shopped around last week and found that I would save upwards of $500 switching home/auto to Geico. One unknown is how much of a "bundle" discount Geico gives. Anyone have gouge there? Also, how responsive is Geico/Liberty Mutual to claims against the homeowners insurance? If you've had a claim, have you seen your rates rise after that?
  22. no, closest it came was back in the 07-08 timeframe, but got shut off at the 11th hour. Ops and MX haven't been together in at least 11 years.
  23. oooh airshows, thanks for reminding me. Had to design and get a demo approved a few years back. Also, with a 4-year degree you only need 4500 hours...
  24. so I got accepted for the next quarter (starting in Oct) for the Project Management track. I'm curious what sorts of things can be used as a legitimate "project" to meet the hour requirement for the PMP certification. Does safety program management at the squadron/Wing level count? What about creating and managing a flying hour program? How about managing a 30 year plan for an HOA? What about being on a SIB, is that considered a "project"? ETA: the PMP handbook was less than helpful, ditto the application, for what constitutes a "project".
