The fact this dude was also quoted in a different article as saying 3 crew members ejected and were fine now leads me to take anything from his mouth with skepticism, unfortunately.

Of the 5 helo guys I am aware of who went to TPS in recent times, two are in RW test, and one is in CV-22s. Not sure about the other two, I lost track of them.

One of several queepy things I once got QC rejected on was that my one-liner had too many acronyms. Well, assholes, if you limit how many characters I can use in a one-liner, then yes, it's going to have a lot of acronyms and abbreviations.

I worked an F-22 SIB recently that took 4 months to complete. The evidence gathering took 3 months and 3 weeks. It's amazing how much things can change given one new piece of evidence...we deconvened for two months to let the smart folks do some testing. I'm not too worried about it. There's also an 85% QC rejection rate (per AFSEC) for final messages right now, so the MAJCOM may have spotted a few things that needed fixing, to try to not get the big FU from AFSEC a week after final message release and the SIB having already been deconvened at that point. Enormous PITA once you've gone back to your normal job to get sucked back in to fix queepy shit.

umm, what? Anyone who has received their annual privilege briefing and has a need to know (read: all aircrew definitely have a need to know on this one) can read the SIB final message. Other services will need to go through their Safety Center to request a copy. For the general public, you will need to wait for the AIB.

Can't speak to Asiana, but ANA planes all had a camera in the nose well that displayed on a big screen when the gear were down. So you got to watch taxi, takeoff, and landing. Also, you pick up visual references on the side if you fly that aircraft/runway often, so I can believe it

If you submit for leave on leaveweb, then the "start and end in the local area" requirement applies. AND you'll be double-charged for leave when you file your voucher. As long as coord has occurred with home station, with the expectation that the DTS voucher will reflect the leave days, then that should be sufficient for any LoDD.
