  1. -----Original Message----- From: ACC/CC Commander Sent: Friday, November 30, 2012 5:13 PM To: A bunch of WG/CCs and other staffers Subject: ACC Uniform Guidance Commanders, As you have all heard by now, CSAF does not intend to reissue the policy mandating the wear of Blues on Mondays. Effective immediately, uniform wear in ACC units will be at the discretion of Wing Commanders. NAFs and other staffs may set uniform policy for their respective headquarters. At Headquarters ACC uniform wear will be commensurate with the expected duty that day. For example, if in the performance of your duties you interact with counterparts who normally wear business suits or business smart you will wear Blues. Otherwise, ABUs or flight suits will be the normal duty uniform. As always, Commanders and supervisors should ensure that our Airmen present a professional image and possess/maintain properly fitting uniforms. If you have any questions on this guidance please contact the ACC Director of Staff at ... Gen Mike Hostage Commander, ACC (edit: remove phone #)
  2. they both look like Skeletor...I sense a common threat here.
  3. It's WELSH people.
  4. my WG/CC (ACC wing) just shot us all an e-mail stating there is no official policy on uniform wear for a particular day of the week, and to wear a uniform commiserate with your duties.
  5. Executive order 9877.
  6. HH-43: the original Pedro! BTW, your sense of scale is waaaaay off. I'm not sure how anyone could confuse an H-21, CH-47, and HH-43. This is an H-21: This is a Chinook (CH-47): edited to add photos
  7. Col Graff has been the Wing King for a little over 24 hours. Talk about a job welcome.
  8. Yup, word is he's ok. The local WX guy just showed a return over the location where the jet went down and threw out his theory about how the jet may have been flying into the wind...
  9. you would think the early votes would have been counted well before now.
  10. there are a bunch of A-10s at AMARG...
  11. It lives! Been renamed CRH (Combat Rescue Helicopter). The FedBiz link lists a timeline of proposals in to Wright-Patt 3 Jan 13, and a tentative award date of 28 Sep 13. https://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123323178
  12. Is that Kitty Baumgartner?
  13. Fall CORONA was a week and a half ago (it's always the week of the home service academy football game).
  14. one data point: my class had 862 graduates. 6 of these were not commissioned, there were 7 foreign cadets, and a total of 7 who cross commissioned to another service (3 USA, 3 USN, 2 USMC). There were 561 pilot slots given out that year at USAFA, which equals 65% of the total class size (67% if you don't count the 20 who didn't enter the USAF).
  15. fixed.
  16. took test 1 cold today, got an 84. Hope I can get at least one more test knocked out before I get forced into 6.0...two tests if I'm lucky.
  17. just caught the first few minutes of the speech, and Gen Welsh just made fun of himself and the uniforms worn during the transition ceremony.
  18. interesting read. A couple queep points [nerdy safety hat]...the SIO went to the trouble of having his final message be in Tab T format, but he still screwed it up. Three things listed in the factors section were concluded to not be factors, so they should have been down in the NFWODs section (since they were worthy of him discussing in multiple paragraphs). And I know Findings and Recommendations are not required for Class E mishaps, but seriously, if you go to that much effort to write your analysis and then not have any recommendations, that's a bit absurd. I can think of at least two recommendations I would make for this event (and having to scroll back up to the narrative to figure out where the causal findings were was annoying). [/nerdy safety hat] I still want to know how the conversation went with the O-10 once they told him they had not, in fact, landed at MacDill.
  19. anyone catch his speech at today's AFA conference?
  20. what new CRM SII? Haven't seen it yet...
  21. first pilot = AC. Any FP time logged is AC time. #4: no, the ones I've known to go to white jets always came back to the community when they were done with that tour (I know of at least 4), or got off active duty.
  22. rucker then kirtland, at least the ones I'm aware of.
  23. if you are an instructor, you can mil comp your way to the CFI
  24. you should go find his USAFA speech from when he was Commandant. He's wearing a flight suit in that one (for vis recce of the right videos).
  25. 13,500. I don't think I went this high in the T-34...it was for some PJ HALO jump currencies. ha.
