the entire avionics package, to include Q-29 FLIR, SADL, MATT, radios, TACAN, INS/GPS/DOPPLER + CDU (Nav system), EFQI, remove ESSS and HF, install refueling probe and internal aux tanks (and their associated plumbing), defensive systems (EGMS, RWR, MWS), rescue hoist (we don't mount ours to the ESSS)... Do your Limas have full-up 701Ds including the beefed up XMSN? Wide chord blades? Those are further differences that would have to be accounted for or de-modded. Even if these Limas were given to one unit so that only that unit had to deal with the differences ops- and mx-wise (assuming no de-mod), in the long run it would be hard, as all the units share aircraft to even out the UTE rates. We've borrowed A/C from the Guard/Reserve in the near-recent past at home and downrange and I don't see that ending anytime soon. Realistically what I see happening is a complete gut down to the 308 beam and then a rebuild as a carbon copy of a G.

but it's a different setup that the rest of the probes in our community, and now there would be issues with MX dissimilarity...

https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2012/03/air-force-budget-cuts-stall-plan-replace-helo-030412/#.T1SqB_1jCw0.facebook last two paragraphs...the company that manufactured our refueling probe went out of business and at least at my base we're short a probe now (we mitigate that by removing the probe of the bird going into phase and slapping it on the bird coming out of phase); how do they expect to turn a Lima into a Golf and have compatible components? I can see this being a MX nightmare...

U-2 Dragonlady info
Huggy, tried to PM you but it didn't work...The slides yesterday had a big red block next to the U-2, according to the Air Ops and Static Display POCs they said it was a no-go...no idea where that is coming from. I'll come drink with you guys any time!

why'd the U-2 cancel out of the DM Open House? Weak.

1st female Air Force combat vet in run for congress
He's my squadron's Honorary CC right now (has been for the last 18 months at least)...he's the head coach for the U of A Rugby team, on the board of the DM 50, and the announcer for the U of A football team, among other things. Needless to say well known around Tucson.

seriously? I've always saluted back when one has been given to me at the gate, regardless of what I'm wearing. It's a sign of respect. I've even returned the salutes of civilian gate guards who rendered them to me.

Shoulder issues
I dislocated my elbow in Apr. I still go to physical therapy twice a week and I'm on a profile, but this does not preclude me from flying. I'm still able to perform my duties just fine in flight an egress the aircraft. Go talk to them and get the ball rolling with PT. Hopefully PT will preclude surgery.

Off-station refueling, including in-flight
EMCON 2 is our standard, only b/c we don't pre-brief an altimeter setting. If not for that one tidbit of info passed, we'd be EMCON 3.

Off-station refueling, including in-flight
when the tanker remembers to ask, we will provide them our tails (HC/MC/KC-130). Not sure what form they document the HAAR on, but our FE just writes it in on the refueling log on the back of the 781H (or whichever 781 it is where MX signs the ER). With HAAR, there doesn't seem to be a way to really have a precise quantity. I've had the tanker set their system to cut off after 500 lbs, and it doesn't, or it does, when we show an onload of less than 500 lbs. So we typically write what we saw for onload, and that's about it. I'm sure many times the offload number noted by the tanker doesn't exactly match... I once HAAR'd where all the fuel was venting straight out of the pod into the atmosphere next to our aircraft instead of flowing through the hose to our probe. Their offload definitely didn't match our onload on that one.

here's one for you...our group shirt just kicked back an EPR because the rater marked "clearly exceeds standards" on the military bearing section, because he (the shirt) saw two previous PT failures in this guy's fitness history. Oh BTW, this guy achieved an Excellent on his most recent PT test (in the rating period) after working his ass off. Fuck you shirt, it's not for you to decide, it's for his rater.

Little Rock info
you can stay wherever you want without a non-A, and you'll get the on-base rate x 30 each month (30 replaced by actual number of days in the month you are there).

I posted this in another thread, but it's definitely more appropriate here...- WTF? (**NSFW**)
