  1. To jump on that bandwagon, TOML provides scholarships for the children of Rescue personnel killed in combat/training.
  2. I got word that 2 PJs and one CCT were among those killed. Here's a toast... TSgt John Brown and his family are in my thoughts and prayers tonight.
  3. Page 52 of this thread, a month ago.
  4. it's already in that thread. About 4 weeks ago... edit: added link...

  9. maybe they think the sage green boots are all that!
  10. right outside the Eubank gate it's not bad, just know that the Eubank gate has specific hrs that it's open (06-18 or something like that), weekdays only. The only 24 hr gates are the Truman and Wyoming gates.

  12. A year later, and the crew of PEDRO 66 weighs heavy in our hearts. For those at DM, there will be a memorial dedication tomorrow, 9 Jun, at 0900L in front of the 48 RQS. For those at Nellis, there will be a memorial tomorrow, 9 Jun, and 0900L in front of the 66 RQS. To Capt David Wizniewski, Staff Sgt. Michael P. Flores, 1Lt Joel Gentz, SSgt David Smith, and SrA Benjamin White, a toast: "These Things We Do...That Others May Live." Thoughts and prayers to the copilot, Tony Simone, and the gunner, Christopher Aguilera as they continue to recover from their injuries.
  13. FP = First Pilot in my community. Basically when we allow mission copilots (who are also FPs) to take the A-code for non-tactical missions, like ferry flights or cross countries.
  14. FO is short for NFO (he's a Navy Flight Officer, aka WSO)
  15. my favorite quote:
  16. This is a great telling of the story from Rescue's point of view, and reads much better than I'm sure the citation will. https://www.bagram.afcent.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123254042
  17. seriously, he bears a striking resemblance to Hitler...
  18. Why did you break out Falconview from PFPS? Falconview + CFPS = PFPS
  19. hmm... AF Finance @ Manas and Army Finance at KAF both sang the same song about not being allowed to adjust expiration dates. I guess it's hit or miss who is actually informed about and enforces this guidance.
  20. If you call the number on the back, Treasury will transfer the remaining balance back to your linked bank account. New rule as of Aug 10 is that expiration dates cannot be adjusted, so you will need to get a new card each time you deploy, or convince the young finance troop to give you an extended expiration date if you are a frequent deployer. I was able to set my expiration date at 37 months, to cover the 4-5 deployments I will most likely do between now and my next PCS, but that was with a lot of sweet talking...
  21. you can get the paperwork to fill out at home, but it will have to be turned in downrange. Also, the Bazaar at Bagram takes EagleCash. Most of the Haji stores on the Boardwalk at KAF also take EagleCash. I'm a big fan...
  22. well, he's actually wearing a multi-cam outer garment in that picture (which is a year old). We fly doors off in combat, and Jan at KAF is a bit nippy... See the back of his collar - tan.
  23. they exist already. Dri-Fire. Some in our community already have them, just waiting on the omni-omni to go forth and be camo'd.
  24. so will the USAF have to invent Dirigible Wings?
  25. Donk is kick ass.
