Interesting. We just had an 11B, 2005 year group, told that no UPT ADSCs were being waived by AFPC, but they'd still be vulnerable for the RIF. I'll tell him to re-attack and see if he gets a different answer from a different person at AFPC.
Despite what the overage matrix would have you believe. Until they figure out that we still need to cut people.
I'm guessing this is about to go A LOT like it did last time...deny a bunch of people, then RIF them (or others in their AFSC and year group) because "we didn't get enough volunteers".
We've run into this a few time arranging squadron events. Like most bars, you can't bring outside booze into the club. However, they can't force you to have an event at the club either...feel free to book another venue.
Two years in advance, still ahead of a few peers. Not enough to matter.
Now you guys have every reason to really drag out that MBA, though...every quarter you can use "xx classes towards master's" as your "personal growth" bullet for an award.
Funny...AF Times always finds that one officer willing to talk without permission.
Master's and PME?
We do have quite an overage of 11Ms. At least, according to the RIF matrix.
I'm guessing it will be just about as effective as the climate surveys. No matter the results, it will be reported that our leaders are doing a great job and morale remains high.
If there's one thing Wal-Mart does better than any company on the planet, it's logistics. It's possible that Miss Ballentine is the perfect person to un-fuck Air Force logistics.
I'm sure I've said it before, but I think it bears repeating...maybe you and your buddies at AFPC should ask yourselves why you have to pay and extra $125K in bonuses to keep people in a job that 90% of Americans would pay to do?
Bingo. It isn't that hard to decide what is and is not professional. Airframe specific patches, squadron patches, sports teams, colleges...those all seem like they fall firmly on the proper side of the "health and welfare" border.
The AF has realized how many flyers are chomping at the bit to submit VSP/TERA paperwork...they had to do something to improve morale in the midst of their "pilot shortage".
Once again, we're so short on people we can't afford to let you go voluntarily, but we're so over on people that we will throw out others in your year group and AFSC that want to stay. Brilliant.
So, it's a good thing for a group of people that want to get out that they will continue to stay in a job they are desperately trying to leave? And it's a good thing for the people facing RIF now have to worry that more people will be RIFed to make up for the fact that less people will get out voluntarily.
Yeah, sounds like great news.
