Going out on a limb here...aren't enlisted tests all graded to a percentile, then they draw the line for the cuts? And if we can't afford to lose these airmen, why are we kicking them out? Clearly the part of AFPC responsible for managing the force has a different perspective than the executive director.

The problem is, if Israel strikes Iran, we're likely to be targets in Iran's retaliation.
-
Yup. Land on the right spot, and you get a job. Of course, in that scenario you may need to invest more than 4 hours.
-
Iran might be the only thing that prevents a bunch of us from getting RIFed. Once we are finally out of Afghanistan, the drawdowns of the last few years will look like a cakewalk.

https://www.duffelblog.com/2012/08/nbc-cancels-series-entire-cast-of-stars-earn-stripes-killed-in-afghanistan/ Hollywood's latest attempt at mimicking combat fails horribly. (Yes, this is a parody article, not an actual news article).

Well, that's one way to solve the SS solvency problem.
-
That's what I'm saying. The reg where they pulled this one from used to direct not just standing, but standing at attention.
-
I'm a little disappointed that it no longer explicitly states that the junior member will stand at attention when addressing a senior officer.
-
So we're getting "one personnel specialist and one administrative/knowledge operations manager". I suppose I shouldn't hold my breath for a finance specialist, since that seems to be the larger issue for most folks than MPF...but may "administrative operations manager" will cover that sort of thing.

It doesn't have to be global. Local riots will still shut down streets and grocery stores.
-
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Good luck getting PA to sign-off on that one, though.
-
You can't use the uniform to promote any outside cause, whether it's cancer research, a politician, or a church. Unless it's been cleared through PA, wearing the uniform to some kind of promotional event (say, manning your church's booth at festival or fair) creates the impression that your church is being sponsored by the USAF. You, as an individual member, have a responsibility not to portray yourself as an official representative of the Air Force supporting any cause that hasn't been cleared through PA.
-
You can wear it to church. You can't wear it to at an event to promote your church out on the town.
-
No. You can be retired.

No real difference. In the B-1, the FTU (formal training unit) is where we conduct IQC (initial qualification course), sometimes called IQT (initial qualification training). RAG is "replacement air group" and is largely a navy term. RTU is replacement training unit, same as FTU. Schoolhouse, again, is an unofficial slang term for any of these units.

If either mom were truly innocent, they'd be mad instead of depressed at Nancy's words. I don't have all the facts in the Duckett case, but the mom who got drunk and killed her three-week-old baby? She got what she deserved.

Gender, nothing. But this: may not happen on this forum.

https://gawker.com/5924963/mom-who-accidentally-smothered-baby-gets-shamed-by-nancy-grace-sets-self-on-fire After Nancy Grace shames this woman on national TV, she set herself on fire (the woman who was shamed, not Nancy Grace...that would get it's own thread).

Agreed. I liked that they didn't speed through the origin story to jump right into the action. They took the time to build Peter Parker as a character, they showed him practicing with his powers and gizmos, and they did an excellent job developing an actual relationship between him and his aunt & uncle. I also liked that this one was pretty explicit in how Spiderman was moving through the city, something many versions gloss over.

Well, HOSS beat me to it. I would like to add, I have never understood why religion affords so much more protection than other reasons. For example, if a Native American tribe says that they want to use peyote or marijuana for a religious ceremony, then they will generally be protected. If I want to use marijuana for medical purposes, under federal law I am subject to prosecution. If an Amish community keeps their kids out of school and doesn't allow them access to modern medical procedures due to religion, they are generally in the clear. If my kid were to get sick, and I just did nothing, I can be dragged into court for child endangerment. Basically, I feel like you can believe whatever you want on your own time, in your own house, and in your own church. But don't force those beliefs on me, either by injecting them into the courts, the elections, or the schools. Just think of every time there's a Fox News article where they complain that Islam is taking over America...that's pretty much how I feel about Christianity all the time.

Some rights are absolutely more sacrosanct than others.

https://www.duffelblog.com/2012/07/new-dod-policy-to-assign-rank-to-military-spouses/ The DoD considers assigning ranks to spouses in order to mediate conflict. (yes, it's a joke).

Great. Then get it done for medical reasons, not religious ones. Hell, if the benefits are so great, let's mandate circumcision along with MMR shots. I don't agree at all that we should be cutting into infants' bodies to satisfy some mythological command from several thousand years ago. I'm really pretty happy with the decision for a few reasons, not the least of which is that it slams the door firmly shut on female circumcision, still practiced by many sects of the Muslim community. No part of this ruling said that infants can't be circumcised, or that a rabbi/mullah can't be present. It said it will only be done for medical reasons. Since you listed a whole bunch of medical reasons, I would guess there are probably a bunch of doctors willing to sign the "medical necessity" paperwork. 100% serious. I love any ruling that takes rights away from various religious groups. Mostly because those religious groups are usually busy trying to take rights from other people.
-
I was thrilled to see this ruling. Anytime the state overturns a purely religious reason for doing something, especially what amounts to minor surgery, I'm all for it.
