  1. Bingo. I have very little problem with the living conditions. I take issue with people who go out of their way to deliberately make deployments more difficult for no discernable purpose.
  2. This is my plan. Especially when I'm in PT gear...prove that you outrank me. Do you really want to spend the time comparing ID cards with every person you walk by?
  3. Yet another news story that puts my time at the Deid into perspective...we bitch about 3 beers a day, these guys haven't had one in over six months. Personally, I'd rather the USAF start up a "Donations for aircraft parts" program.
  4. About a year ago, we sent one of our yougn ACs to Predators...fast-forward, and he's working the same area as one of our planes. As they realize they recognize his voice, one of the WSOs tells him that he recently got engaged (here in the desert, but that's another story). The Pred pilot replied: "Copy, you're coming in broken and stupid". Keep in mind, this is all occurring on the JTAC's working freq...
  5. Sounds like cybercommand has actually found a real job...how hard do you suppose it would be to set up pirate radio and TV stations to broadcast into NK? It wouldn't even have to be propaganda...you could probably just broadcast SK TV, with all the commercials of things you COULD buy, if you were a member of the decadent west. Also, I wonder how hard it would be for our hackers to circumvent NKs firewalls and allow the populace there access to the internet at large?
  6. We'd better hope so...otherwise the NK army will plan their assault on the finance office for a Monday...like anyone would be there to defend it anyway, whatever uniform they're wearing.
  7. You are correct sir. It was Bill clinton who dodged the draft, opting to smoke pot in Canada, who started the "military service isn't a requirement to be president" sentiment when he ran against WWII heroes in back-to-back elections (Bush Sr. and Dole). Shame on me.
  8. Maybe Bush was just saying "No, I didn't volunteer to be active-duty Army, I went into the TX ANG instead". I will say it's interesting how the story about military service changed from 2000, when the democratic candidate (Gore) had none at all, to 2004, when the democratic candidate had actually been in-country during Vietnam (Kerry).
  9. There's a reason JTACs and PJs don't wear USAF uniforms...because the USAF refuses to make a combat uniform with any utility. We already have a uniform well suited for the office environment...Blues.
  10. I, for one, can't believe...well, I can believe it, but I'm baffled by the process that decided we would design a utility uniform WITH NO UTILITY! Really, we're going to design a camo pattern that isn't ACTUALLY designed to camoflague anything? Only in the USAF. No wonder we're the laughingstock of the other services.
  11. This would have been good news to have, oh, say...5 years ago. I doubt it'll be anything more than fodder for a Hannitty rant at this point. Although it may be one more nail in the coffin of CBS News.
  12. Me. I can say 100% that I would not greet the para-rescue team with my M9 waving around.
  13. JTACs and PJs?
  14. Flew with him, and he seemed like a good guy. But it IS his signature on the reflective belt/PT/crocs/Ramadan memos.
  15. Really? No one's mentioned Angel Boris: (This is just about the tamest photo I could find...google the chick's name to find other...shall we way, more interesting photos). Or Angie Everhart, who was on the cover of Playboy a while back?
  16. Tears of the Sun. Bruce Willis in command of s special ops team, fighting off every freaking African with a gun.
  17. Then lets use it against the enemy instead of friendly forces.
  18. Exactly. I was refering to the Deid memo, paragraph 4, where it talks about not eating, drinking, smoking, or cursing in front of the TCNs during daylight hours. Thankfully, another memo soon followed stating that chow halls would still be open, and you were fine to drink water all day long.
  19. Agreed...I mean, 2.
  20. Just got a new email regarding the Ramadan policy...we're still cleared hot to eat at the DFACs and drink water at all hours of the day. At least SOMEONE'S paying attention up there.
  21. Ah, it's too bad political correctness has virtually eliminated that kind of training.
  22. Memphis Belle
  23. 3
  24. No, no, no. While other religions may have a day set aside for them, or very short-term accomadations, or even letters explaining the religious observance to the rest of us...This is the first time I've been forced by a policy letter to participate in a religious celebration for a religion I'm not a part of. If we issued a policy letter than said no one in the USAF could eat meat on Fridays during Lent, the leadership would be roasted for not separating church and state. But because Islam is the vogue, "oppressed" religion right now, it's fine to force everyone else to follow their beliefs. Next up, burkhas for all the chickas in the squadron.
  25. The IOU sheet is MONEY. We've got an excel spreadsheet with the whole squadron on it, and a bunch of empty containers...you just put a check in a container for every .50 you owe. Every two weeks or so, the Snacko tallies your tickmarks and prints a new sheet with a dollar amount next to your name...and fresh empty containers. We've even got a color code...$0-10, you're green, $10-20, yellow, $20+, red.
