Well, there's also the ability to base in countries that are requiring vaccines to cross their borders. I'd call that one a readiness issue.

I don't have a conviction to wear a mask. I'm thrilled the mandates are being dropped. But I also haven't tied my whole personality to the idea that mask mandates are tyranny.

Huh. I took the 9-year 12X bonus in 2018 and everything has paid out like clockwork. $112,500 up front and $12500 every year since (more like $10k after taxes, but I'm not complaining).

We've already pledged to defend Taiwan against Chinese aggression. Although we also gave guarantees to Ukraine...so maybe there will be a bunch of politicians and military officers willing to say Taiwan "invited" the Chinese to invade by "being provocative".

I'd prefer not to lose any, but the effect will be the same once every nuclear country knows that they can blockade us by threatening a nuclear war.

Sweet. Russia can have Ukraine, China can have Taiwan (and hell, Japan if they want it), we should pull our forces out of Korea and let Kim have that...after all, we can't risk a nuclear strike on an American city by antagonizing any nuclear powers. Doesn't seem like that would be great for our ability to project any kind of power, soft or otherwise.

When we hired folks into the IG office, it was usually just a formality for anyone under O-6. It adds some time to the hiring process, but I never saw one denied.

If Iran is watching Ukraine, they have zero interest in negotiating with the US. Why would any country give up their nukes in exchange for US premises of protection. See also: Libya.
