  1. It's an interesting gambit. I'd love to see the part of the bible where God instructs people not to wear a mask.
  2. So Trump is too dangerous for Twitter, but a literal terrorist organization is good to go?
  3. Yes, but I'd like a bit more information from FB when they do. "Our fact-checkers said so" isn't good enough. Or just slap the label on it but let it stay up.
  4. Eh, they'll crash them without any help from us.
  5. I have to believe that if a general said that to SECDEF, the second half of this article would be about their replacement.
  6. Ah, yes, the argument from anecdote. I don't know anyone who's been killed in a car accident. That's why I don't wear my seatbelt. It's just a lie pushed by the NHTSA to control our lives. Probably in bed with Big Fabric to make the seatbelts. We actually have more traffic fatalities a year now than before seatbelts were mandatory.
  7. Not "visits". Hospitalizations. As in, admitted to a bed. The delta variant seems to kill less people, but it also seems to discriminate less in who gets severe symptoms.
  8. You might be working from old data, there, Flea. https://www.healthline.com/health-news/young-people-make-up-biggest-group-of-newly-hospitalized-covid-19-patients "But they aren't dying"...maybe, but a soldier, sailor, airman, or Marine in the hospital is one that can't deploy...
  9. Yeah, I guess we'll see what legal wrangling comes out of it. I have a feeling that people will experience disciplinary action for refusing, and the lawsuits they file will stretch out for years while those holdouts are separated from the service. However, my intent in posting that story is to highlight that the military is not alone in the mandates, and that even civilians are gonna have some consequences for vaccine denials.
  10. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/dont-expect-unemployment-benefits-if-you-dont-comply-with-your-employers-vaccine-requirement-11628287814 If your employer mandates vaccines and you don't get one... they can fire you and you'll probably be ineligible for unemployment.
  11. Looks like the Pentagon set a date for mandatory vaccines: Sept 15 or upon full FDA approval, whichever happens first. https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2021-08-09/pentagon-to-require-covid-vaccine-for-all-troops-by-sept-15
  12. Fair enough. There's no way to take someone who thinks Alex Jones is a credible journalist seriously. Then the cringe 4Chan memes...
  13. Never been on staff. Did it make you so skeptical you absolutely refuse to follow any MAJCOM guidance? I should have just stayed out of this thread. I'll just comfort myself knowing all of you still in are gonna be forced to get a vaccine, and it looks like a lot of airlines are trending that way as well. Can't wait to see how many people are willing to sacrifice their principles for their wallets.
  14. Sounds exhausting. Never being able to go to a grocery store, building your own car because you don't trust government safety standards, making your own fuel because you don't trust the EPA...
  15. Ah...so, when the FDA approves it, you still won't take it? Anywhere else you have an utter mistrust of government? Do you disregard FAA regulations because you don't trust the federal government to oversee aviation? Do you "do your own research" on all the food items you buy, or do your trust the FDAs food inspection process?
  16. What the hell does that have to do with Covid? @Guardian, remind me again about undermining points using cheap talking points...
  17. Settle down, Alex, or we'll have to call the nurse to give you another sedative. You're like my grandpa trying to use internet slang.
  18. Wow...telling me my "underhanded digs" make my points less valid, followed by insulting my masculinity. Talk about undermining your own points, asshole.
  19. Sorry, I thought the sarcasm would have been obvious when I followed up with people getting measles in 2019...but it wouldn't be the first time I overestimated the intelligence of people in this thread.
  20. Yeah, all sanitation, not vaccines. That's why we never see outbreaks of other disease among the unvaccinated... https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/29/us-measles-cases-climb-to-704-as-the-disease-spreads-among-unvaccinated-people.html
  21. Nah, the college enforces that for me. It also forced every faculty member and student to get vaccinated.
  22. How did we eradicate polio? Was it by letting people wring their hands about potential side effects, or by mandating vaccines for every man, woman, and child? You want to be on the side of liberty, then great. Just realize choices have consequences. I'm 100% for keeping people out of certain jobs, restricting ability to travel to hot spots, mandating quarantine periods for travelers, etc based on vaccine status. Just like we currently do for a whole host of other vaccines. We've got a whole lot of case law on the side of restrictions for unvaccinated people.
  23. Got that from the Alex Jones news center?
  24. Do you feel the same about all public health measures? Or is it just the covid vaccines? Edit to add: looks like that Russian propaganda is more effective than we thought. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/anti-vax-movement-russian-trolls-fueled-anti-vaccination-debate-in-us-by-spreading-misinformation-twitter-study/
  25. It's not about political narrative. It's about ending the pandemic. I don't understand how you can look at all the data available and conclude that the anti-vaxx argument is the logical one.
