So one virus caused death and paralysis...so we rushed a vaccine. And now we have a virus that causes death and long-term heart problems...but there's no parallels at all? It makes less sense that being completely anti-vaxx because all the side-effects you're worried about are already side-effects from the MMR, flu, polio, or TB vaccines. Which, if you're in the military, you already took. But you're wringing your hands over a vaccine that's been distributed to over a billion people worldwide with side-effect rates far lower than the rates of major issues from covid, yes, even for healthy young studs in the military. Is your complaint just the EUA? So as soon as it gets fully approved (likely in the next few months), you'll suddenly be on-board?

Medical experts can't say with 100% certainty that any treatment, ever will not have long-term side-effects. You could develop side-effects from taking Tylenol. But the probability is extremely low. How long do you want this vaccine studied before you'll take it? 5 years? 10 years? 30 years? How long did we study the anthrax vaccine before that was administered? What were the long-term studies on the polio vaccine in 1955? Can you imagine if parents back then had the same reaction to "no long-term studies" as you're spouting right now?

I don't know what else to call people who are anti-vaccine. It makes even less sense to support all vaccines except this one...

Same as the reason I think the government can mandate DUI laws, require airbags in vehicles, require drivers to wear seatbelts... the primary job of a government is to protect its citizens.

Yeah...only about 40,000 people die in car accidents a year. That's why I never wear a seatbelt... the odds I'll die in a car crash are so low, why risk seatbelt injuries?

But they are protecting themselves. They have a lower mortality rate than elderly, but not zero. And the mortality rate from covid among the younger crowd is WAY higher than the mortality rate of the vaccines.

Depends. Is this person not getting the vaccine still wearing a mask, socially distancing, avoiding large crowds of people...? Or is this person loudly proclaiming that everything should be open, you can't ask about their vaccination status, refusing to wear a mask even in places where there's a 100% mask policy, and eagerly booking tickets for the next big event? Because from what I've seen, the people who aren't getting vaccinated also scoff every other countermeasure taken against the pandemic. If you've gotten advice from your doctor that you shouldn't get the vaccine, I don't fault you. If you're taking marching orders from some political operative that told you Biden and Fauci are out to get you...no, I don't respect that decision.

So, there's no good answer for you, because you can always claim it's not enough for your risk category. Convenient. What's Boeing or Lockheed's liability when you have a catastrophic failure in the aircraft the Air Force pays you to fly?
