Same. I don't know what the hell I'm going to do with 30 days this year. Not like I can go anywhere. I'd settle for being able to sell back my 30 days this year. A one-time exception to let people actually cash out their leave NOT in conjunction with separation from the service.
-
Perhaps. It's unfortunate because I personally worked with other black female chiefs who would be doing a far better job than Chief Bass.

Only went there for lunch when I was in the area... Too far of a hike from Whiting, and if you're going to make the drive in a Friday night as an LT, might as well go elsewhere in town. Sounds like I missed out. Maybe next assignment... Man, did you miss out. That club was packed on Friday nights, from old WWII and Vietnam pilots to the current crop of instructors to students at all phases of training. It was a wild time.

Because Trump said they were terrorists, so Biden has to say they are not.

While I certainly agree that there are historic reasons for these problems...how long can you blame those historic reasons? How much separation from those events do you need before you need to take some responsibility for improving your own lot in life? Is anyone TODAY, in 2021, being prevented from renting an apartment, buying a house, getting a job, etc based solely on race? And if so...what do we do about it? We already have a plethora of government agencies that work to eliminate this kind of racism in hiring, housing, health care, banking, education...Is the solution MORE government programs? And what kind of government programs will be successful where our current programs have failed?
-
Oh, well that's more reasonable. Any bets on if it will be more effective than other down days we've had for SAPR, suicide, or racial inequality?
-
No big deal, because those NY teachers aren't in class anyway and are fighting tooth and nail not to go back.
-
Racist? OK.
-
It's because he tells people they are responsible for fixing their own lives, and that no one else is going to do it for them.

I guess I'll hold my opinion until I see the execution. 60 down days...what does that mean? No flying, no deployments, no training? Are we going to actually do a re-scrub of the background investigations looking for extremists, or are we going to sit in a sharing circle talking about why extremism is bad? What's going to count as extremism? Is anyone who has ever called AOC dumb or mocked Biden's inability to put a sentence together on the chopping block? Or are we going to actually look at people's connections to extremist groups? Are we looking for extreme leftists (like that West Point kid who wrote "Communism Wins" inside his wheel cap) or only QAnon supporters? I fully support the idea of rooting extremists out of the ranks. But I have a lot of fears about how this will actually be implemented.

OK...so you don't have any enlisted folks that work for you? You don't have any in the squadron? Sorry you had a bad interaction with the dude, but there is absolutely no question he improved the lives of enlisted members enormously during his tenure.

Strongly disagree. But if that's your take...who was the last good CMSAF?
-
Bingo. And you can always find a community that will agree with your level of crazy, no matter what it is. In times past, a moon landing denier or chemtrail advocate would be told by the only people they interact with that those ideas are crazy. But now that we have the ability to talk to anyone, anywhere, the isolated crazy from town A can talk to the isolated crazies from towns B and C and reinforce their beliefs that "tons of people believe this, it's not that crazy".

You realize that you don't have to interview 330 million Americans to get a statistical model, right?
-
While I don't fully disagree...didn't the same system produce Chief Wright? Why was one so great and another so terrible?
-
30 days. Plus I have 83 from the "special accrual" we got for Covid.
-
Certainly get that take. On the flip side, I have ~60 cadets looking at me as a role model. So if I can influence them to also get the vaccine when offered, I want to do whatever I can. Plus... The sooner most of us are vaccinated, the sooner bars start opening and concerts resume. And I can actually go somewhere with my use or lose leave.
-
Now you're making me worry about getting one. AFROTC instructors got into the group right after medical personnel... But I don't need someone posting my picture claiming I'm jumping the line because my MTF is three hours away.
-
Only for anyone who didn't watch a single clip of him during the campaign. This is nothing new. Like, not even a little bit.

Funny that a guy who bitched so much about applying violence that he brought a lawsuit is now upset that we are taking care of our airmen.
-
It's the guy kicked from here. The one who fought the government over doing his job as a drone pilot. Man never met a lawsuit he didn't like.

Work smarter, not harder.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/pentagon-pauses-plan-offer-covid-vaccine-guant-namo-bay-prisoners-n1256282 So apparently there was a plan to vaccinate detainees before American senior citizens. At least it's been "paused".

Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
pawnman replied to Swizzle's topic in Squadron Bar
How many of you would go to the office every day if you thought someone in the building had attempted to murder you? She's trading talking points for progress. Can't let the leftist base know that you're willing to work with Ted Cruz.- 1,190 replies

But that's just it. GameStop is poised to dramatically change their business model. The inciting incident was Ryan Cohen buying a ~12% share and taking over the board. This is a guy who has extensive experience in building an online store. And he's appointed Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime to the board of directors. Do I think that makes GameStop worth $300+ a share? Probably not. But it was likely worth a lot more than Melvin Capital was driving towards.- 1,190 replies
