What's wrong with the Air Force? We pass over officers with impeccable combat records and no PT failures in the flying community, but put people like this into SQ/CC jobs in the MXG. I can't imagine how she will credibly counsel any airmen who fails a PT test under her command.

PRFs, not OPRs. Each of those strats is likely from a single OPR.

Once you get on the HPO train, it's tough to get derailed. The sooner you get on that HPO train, the better.

My PRF is right up there. One CGO strat, tons of instructor/evaluator strats, lots of combat and instructor time, and some major/FGO strats in the last three years... Not promoted. I wish your friend luck. Maybe breaking the LAF into multiple categories will help.

Looks like you have a lot more rank strats than I do. I was also told 50/50 chance. And despite being in a wing staff job, my SURF shows me going SQ to GP back to SQ, because my job is coded as API-0. As a result, I'm occupying a spot in a flying squadron manning doc, even though I'm working in the IG office.

I'll believe it when they start putting them in cockpits instead of shipping containers.

That is almost exactly what I am saying. I can't speak for AF wide, but Dyess has not sent a single WSO to a staff job without going to school first for several years.

Well, they keep removing people from the VML. The ONLY people we've sent to staff in the last three years were people who went to school first. I can't remember the last time someone left Dyess for staff without going to Maxwell first.

We have a winner. Also, small sample size... Like six guys. But one was a guy with a DP IPZ who got passed over.

Had lunch with the deputy OG today... Turns out Dyess has not promoted a WSO in the last four years. Fun times.

Flt/CC yes, ADO no. I think that's probably part of the problem as well...I went from shop chief to flight commander at my ops squadron, then the FTU made me a flight commander followed by shop chief, then I went to OGV. So that probably didn't do me any favors either.

Two MSMs. Top two OPRs are the strongest ones, where I got the FGO/Maj strats.

Ours was a mandatory half up front. And I don't have $60k laying around to buy my way out of active duty. Plus, in all honesty, I like my job, I like my jet, I like my coworkers. Sure, Big Blue took a dump on my career. But that doesn't mean I want to leave my current situation. I especially don't want to go ART and lose one weekend a month while still working during the week.

Took the devil's money back when everyone and their brother was telling me I'd definitely get promoted. Committed to 2027. After that I plan to retire fully, not look for a Guard or Reserve job. Talent Marketplace now, the losing commander gets some comments that we can't see. Hasn't been applicable to me in the last four VMLs, because I was removed. "Too critical to lose you from the FTU".
