  1. I can't tell if this is the last twenty or the next twenty.
  2. Interesting, because it seemed to be the standard in the BONE community for a while. I've seen both OG and WG execs wearing the WIC patch.
  3. Don't forget that we forced a bunch of officers and enlisted out less than 5 years ago, and the younger dudes who watched that happen don't have a lot of faith the AF won't do it again.
  4. Hell, at least those LTs are learning something.
  5. Checks. Our FTU just sent our last DO to school. He was a major from the '06 year group.
  6. Easy to crank out. Tougher to do the stupid bullet checker in Excel, then edit, then re-edit, then edit the bullet-checker to match the edits to the PRF...
  7. Yeah, my community's functional basically told us that all the assignments were decided on by the OG/CCs at Dyess and Ellsworth. The TM was literally an afterthought for the assignment process, at least for BONE folks.
  8. I agree. We need immigration reform, and bad. We should be striving to make it faster, easier, and cheaper for people who want to come here legally. Make the barriers to legal entry low enough, and the only people who will try to come here illegally will be the criminals...which makes it easier to police the borders.
  9. There are limits on WMDs in space. Nothing says you can't put a shotgun on a satellite.
  10. It's our own fault. When they first started studying the whole retention problem, everyone in the trenches said "it's not about the money". End result? No real increases to the bonuses, because we've already told CSAF "it's not about the money".
  11. Hard to say. Wings told the last group to write them as well.
  12. SIB has concluded. Pretty interesting stuff. Consult your local safety officer if you're interested.
  13. That's what I'm thinking. Do we really gain anything by creating a Space Force vs potentially standing up a Space Command similar to SOCOM that brings in the Army and Navy assets?
  14. Man, Fire, Ready, Aim! doesn't even do it justice. If they were aiming after firing, I'd expect the next shot to be on target. It's more like: fire, fire, fire, make a huge show out of adjusting the sights, fire, fire, complain about the target, fire, fire, complain about the equipment, and fire again.
  15. Checks. I personally have hundreds of hours using the Sniper pod in a B-1 to scan Highway 1 for "hot spots and cold spots" because they might be IEDs. Burning 20K pounds of fuel an hour to do a task that an MQ-1 or MQ-9 was better equipped to do burning 20 pounds an hour. But the CAOC had to make an attempt to cover every JTAR that came in, so we planted a multi-million dollar strategic bomber over an area where we never released a weapon in two deployments to act as an ISR asset. Great use of resources.
  16. I have a hard time believing that the Air Force wouldn't offer continuation to rated guys in the midst of a pilot manning crisis... But then, they've done dumber things.
  17. Did your functional say anything about deploying for 45 days continuously putting you at the bottom of the 365 list for five years? That's what we're hearing from our side now.
  18. I think no one has been willing to up-channel, through any means, the idea that we're not getting paid enough.
  19. Do this, and you'll find pilots doing some creative things to get out. Like failing 4 PT tests in a row.
  20. No fighter guys left to do it. B-1s are sending zero people to white jets this VML as well.
  21. That's our own fault for consistently saying "it's not about the money" for the last couple years.
  22. At least the seat worked.
  23. Sounds about right. That's the kind of thinking that got us into this mess in the first place.
  24. The axe is still there. Probably because MX doesn't have to inspect it.
  25. I definitely enjoyed Ellsworth more than Dyess... So maybe?
