Here are a couple of my favorites. JASSM launch out over the WSMR AR on the same sortie Formation out over the Great Lakes. We were in Chicago for the Airshow. I liked the lighting and the ship in the background.

I think if we are going after the Iranian Nukes, cost is no object. Its the opposite approach from BQZips mom, or at least thats what I heard from HOSS. Dollar menu at McDonalds is the BeNo line.

I see two possible answers. 1. 2. Drop a MOP, make a 360, drop a second MOP. Now your crater should be much deeper. The other option would be to put a B-61 in on the second pass, and claim it was a secondary explosion inside the target.

I think they TOTALLY get it (Suicides)
SuperWSO replied to Napoleon_Tanerite's topic in General Discussion
That has always bothered me. Other threads have mentioned when the Air Force sets the goal of zero (suicides, accidents, misplaced nuclear weapons, etc) This leads to the ugly question, how many suicides are OK? Zero isn't achievable unless we all start getting prozac at the base BK with our Whopper, but no one in leadership will ever say, we tried but just couldn't reach that guy/gal. We had three suicides at Pensacola while I was going through VT-10/VT-86. The training kicked into high CYA gear after the third - it seemed like someone told the leadership they were not going any further if it happened again, so the Air Wing had death by powerpoint, suicide prevention cards, and a bunch of other stuff designed to show that leadership was "doing something." t -
Won't claim authorship - I got it in e-mail today. Just thought it was worth sharing. Now where can I get a case of M-67s?

Career field managers are rolling the dice that the people across the hall wont cut their guys. If they do, its not that big a deal to the career field manager. It sucks if you're the guy who can't leave until the ax falls. Typical AFPC not talking in house. Six months ago, I had simultaneous deployment and PCS orders. I had to call AFPC and ask what the priority was. They decided to prioritize the PCS, right before they decided not to continue me. There is no master plan.

If you aren't burned out on the military, don't overlook the Guard and Reserves. Talk to your local recruiters. They will start out trying to match you to a Navigator job, but try to expand the search. I'm looking at opportunities in Intel and Cyber. Many organizations would appreciate your operational background and be willing to retrain you into a new AFSC. You can work a couple more years in a stable job, retain your current pay and benefits and have a better shot at future advancement.

There isn't an airline for Navigators, but you may find that there is a pretty good market for 12Bs depending on what you have done in your career. I graduated college with an engineering degree and never did anything with it, but that also helps when prospective employers are looking at your resume. It shows you've mastered difficult subjects before and that you should be able to learn some new tricks. A big factor in your decision may be where you want to live. If location is a major factor, your choices get a little narrower. If you are willing to move, you have a lot more options. The other big factor in my recent experience has been contacts - who you know and your reputation. Try to highlight things you've done outside the day to day routine. Old OPRs are a good place to start, but you will need to translate it into civilian. PM me if you have any specific questions. Good luck.

Saddle up for Syria? Or Op Deny Christmas '13
SuperWSO replied to brickhistory's topic in General Discussion
Disclaimer - I didn't watch the video. I don't want to lose 8 minutes of my life to that raging d-bag. BUT, is he talking about O-plans? Saying we have a plan to invade is kind of a given. I think it is established fact that between WWI and WWII, the Navy had plans for how to take on the British. Staffs create O-plans. We probably have plans for a lot of countries, that may or may not be in the axis of evil. -
From todays AFA update... Maybe someone is listening. We're finally cutting into the military band structure.

The worlds first YouTube SII. That was awesome! Now where do I sign to get credit for this training.

I call bullshit on the whole article. Are you sure this didn't come from the Onion? Oh wait, it is from a news site. Sure hope Tiny wasn't a junior.

Maybe landing in Iran happens when you lack flight discipline.

Don't know, but I bet it involves reflective belts.

Anyone looked at the Boneyard on Google Maps lately?
SuperWSO replied to ClearedHot's topic in Squadron Bar
For starters, you should change the topic since that is definitely NOT the Boneyard when you zoom out. Its laid out to look like a target, like any other bombing range. Why do you ask? -
Quick solution. "Hey India, Pakistan just called you fat. I think the said your mom was a slut too. Are you going to put up with that? They've been giving Kashmir the eye all night." After they get done, Afghanistan won't need electricity, they will be able to read at night using the glow from the east. Shovel the big pieces back into the crater and go back to worrying about Iran.

Normally, you pay for anything further than your home of record, but I believe that involuntary separation entitles you to a move to your home of choice. The move is good for up to a year after your separation is complete. As Matmac stated, it all depends on the code on your orders.

I will caveat that I do not have any insider info on the F-35, BUT you say they can't integrate rockets? The Libyan rebels integrated rockets with a toyota hi-lux. My dad was shooting rockets from an O-1 Bird dog in Vietnam. If you can hang a pod on the pylon and get an electrical connection to the pod, I think integration is complete. Cosmic super weapons may need more effort, but if it is just getting seek eagle certification that the weapon won't come back around and shoot the launch platform, that is another issue.

When you have that much testosterone, he probably shaved at breakfast.

Quibbling. The question was when has an AV-8 ever been used in a combat role that required STOVL. I provided a historical example. I'm not sure what makes it a "bad" example. Then you go on to wish that the British had retained a carrier that was more capable. I'll be sure to check with you when the USAF is wishing they had a tanker sooner/ bomber earlier / more F-22s. The British (govt, not military) failed to learn that you can't always predict when you will need that little used capability like a carrier, and its a path the US military is being led down now. My two cents.
-
Read up on the UK Falklands campaign. AV-8s flew off of container ships. STOVL allows the Marines to fly out of much smaller airstrips than a conventional fighter can use. In the last several wars the US has fought, we have had access to significant stretches of concrete in countries that were willing to host us. That might not always be the case. F-22 can carry AIM-9X. Let me distill your argument - we should continue to add capabilities to existing systems because it is impossible to add capabilities to systems that are still in design/production. YGBSM? People continue to say that drones should be the only thing we buy/build. Drones will either rely on a link back to friendly territory that can be jammed, or preprogrammed with a set target list. How many years has it been since USAF assets have taken off with a "planned" target? I can't see the X-45 doing CAS any time in the next 20 years.

You realize that you are setting Steve up for the Monty Python line that American beer is a lot like making love in a canoe. Masshole, Are you old enough to know about Monty Python?
-
That is a first. I don't think I've ever heard an AF dude use the words Army and all the good deals in the same sentence. a 365 is about 3 months short of their usual trip (until recently).
-
Pictures required. Tell them you are conducting research into customers service across the AF.

Could we have Dos Gringos do a revised version of the creed and put it to music? How many guys know all the words to "Two's Blind"? Probably more than know the Airmans Creed.
