  1. I was planning on renting the Mess Dress. Quick questions: How much does it cost to rent? At what part during AMS can you go over and get it all settled? (measured, pick up) Did most people rent or purchase their own?
  2. Hello, Quick question. I'm a non prior officer candidate that had some trouble doing the piss test at MEPS and just recently at the latest UA. I pretty much had to wait around for three hours each time and had a very hard time with it and managed to do it last minute prior to getting sent home. I don't want this to be a regular thing in a 20 year career with the anxiety and I recently got information on AFI44-120 Attachment 13 which allows you to get a waiver with proper documentation. My question is I saw my local physician who wrote up the paperwork and I submitted it to our base flight doctor. He seemed confused as he had never seen the waiver or form before and didn't know how it worked. Well, it states that it is only good for the current UA and one is needed for every one in the future. I got it noted in my military medical file... I will be going to training for 2+ years at various bases throughout the country, is my medical file accessible to all the bases and will I need to apply for a waiver each time I get a random? Will a base commander deny my request, and if so, what happens if I am unable to provide a sample? (note: I have been told I will not be denied waiver at my base) Is there anything else I can provide or do to help this issue become not an issue in the future? I don't want to be worrying about my career due to paruresis. Thanks for the help!!! Also, I have tried different techniques of trying to cope with it, including pissing in front of friends, etc... it has not helped as to solve the issue.
  3. Thanks very much for the response... Did you bring a sleeping bag to sleep in so you didn't need to make the bed each day?
  4. Just got my AMS dates, will be in the 05-02 class which is Oct 28th to Dec 19th. Couple questions for guys who have been through: What is a typical weekend like? Do you PT, have access to gym, study, class hours? Being a non-prior, What types of things can I do to prepare before I go that will make things easier? What are some of the "better" leadership jobs to volunteer for and what are some of the ones I should avoid if possible? How is the food? Thanks guys for the feedback!!
  5. Hey Droppin_Loads Can you give us a low down on the what is added to the new 8 week pipeline and what your overall experience was for AMS? Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated!
  6. What do the weekends typically look like during the different phases? Are you allowed to leave during Phase 1, and if so, does anyone really go out? Are you allowed to use the gym at anytime during the weekends? Mostly studying? Thank you!!
  7. Anyone gone through the pipeline recently? Any changes being made to the timeline? Or is it still pretty accurate with: IFS - 2 months RIQ/RFC - 4months FTU - 4months
  8. Hey guys, Quick overview. Non-prior service, I was selected for a RPA pilot slot with the Air National Guard and just turned in my SF-86. I was born in the United Kingdom and became naturalized in 2008. I have a current UK passport which I have not used since I became a US citizen, and it expires this year. I need to acquire a Top Secret security clearance and have some questions/concerns for you guys. I just turned 28 and need to be in training before I turn 30. I have read that most people that have dual citizenship that apply for secret/TS clearances have been denied right away for their interim and often have up to a two year waiting period to get full clearance. Does AMS require a full clearance completed before I attend or just an interim? If my interim is denied, Can I still get AMS dates before my full security clearance is done or do you only get dates when the security clearance is complete? I might be overreacting, but I read up on dual citizenship and security clearances last night, and it seems they are giving out denials for most people with dual citizenship that are not willing to renounce their previous citizenship. I have no problems renouncing my UK citizenship, but do you think I'm going to have enough time to get cleared before I turn 30? Any help would be much appreciated. I have reached out to several individuals, but have not heard back yet. I'd like to move as fast as possible with clearance, but I want to know now if it very unlikely that I will be cleared or make it in time, so I can rethink the situation. Thanks guys.
  9. Just got selected for the 9's for the ANG... anyone have an updated timeline for the 18X pipeline? I'm hearing anywhere between 6-14 months. Thanks!
  10. Is IFS currently required for pilots with a PPL for the 18X pipeline?
  11. Could someone please tell me if you have a PPL... do you still have to go through IFS? I keep hearing conflicting information... this would be for the 18X pipeline. Thanks guys!
  12. Thanks for your help guys.
  13. Hello, I was wondering what the requirement was for AF RPA Pilots and the depth perception test. Is it the same standards as any other pilot position? Reason I asked is I had a hard time on the circle depth perception test at prescreening and wanted to know if it's waiverable or if a different test is adminstered at Wright. I have done other depth perception tests online and have done just fine on all of them. Thanks!
