  1. Congrats! Look forward to reading your recap.
  2. I'd say at least two, since they're hiring for both the 142nd and 173rd. Back to the 190FS, what makes you say they'll have results by the end of next week?
  3. I did. But I wouldn't expect to hear anything until April -- isn't that when the board meets?
  4. The 148th FW is hiring, but I had no idea (it wasn't advertised anywhere). If any of you have packages ready to go, you might want to find a way to get them there by Sunday (March 2nd). Info here: https://www.148fw.ang.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-140226-065.pdf I'm kicking myself for not knowing about this.
  5. That's quite the collection they have over there. Here are a few that I liked: link with full-size download: https://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/fsac/item/fsa1992001142/PP/ link with full-size download: https://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/fsac/item/fsa1992001602/PP/ link with full-size download: https://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/fsac/item/fsa1992001172/PP/ link with full-size download: https://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/fsac/item/fsa1992001542/PP/
  6. Saw this over on reddit and thought it should be shared here as well link: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7c/FSAC.1a35291_Assembling_B-25_bombers_at_North_American_Aviation%2C_Kansas_City.jpg
  7. Nope. They held a board last year though, so I would be a little surprised if they held one this year as well. I couldn't find a point of contact on their website, so I sent an e-mail to their uptboard address. Whether that address is even monitored is anyone's guess.
  8. Not knowing much about the clock-map-ground technique (besides knowing what it implies), how did you convince your IP that you had a map in your lap? Just hit the right landmarks, hope for the best?
  9. Ha. I'll give them a call tomorrow.
  10. Anyone know if the 144th is holding a UPT board this year?
  11. Has anyone read Dead Men Fying? I was thinking of picking it up: https://www.amazon.com/Dead-Men-Flying-Americas-Battlefield/dp/1936488353/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1392366130&sr=8-1&keywords=dead+men+flying
  12. Thanks for that. Then that suggests there's no official word out on F-35s, or any other airframe, going to the 190th for the moment.
  13. Do you have a link to a press-release that confirms this? I wasn't able to find anything with my google-fu.
  14. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what's the future of the 190th FS with all this talk going on about divesting the A-10 fleet completely?
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKEqYfMVc5A Well, if that 767 can take off from that airstrip, I'm sure this 737 will have no problem. Apparently there was a small plane stuck on the runway of the airport they were suppose to land at, so they diverted to this much smaller one.
  16. From what I understand, you don't really have a direct view of the ground below you when landing, and have to rely on various cues or help from below. How was this addressed with carrier landings?
  17. "Also I'm looking for more info on these flights, such as pilots that flew the flights, interesting stories and tail numbers of the aircraft that flew the flights......please email John"
  18. Pics or it didn't happen. I really would love to see that. Were you able to see the shuttle arcing into the inky blackness once it passed 70,000?
  19. Actually, I just couldn't find anywhere else to post this: And another Any of you been lucky enough to fly one of these missions?
  20. I have no religious affiliation and could really care less whether this was there or not -- just so long as if someone wanted to put up a giant menorah was also allowed to do so.
  21. This one looks good, I'm going to check it out.
  22. I thought maybe a bump of this to the top could move some of the AC-130 discussion going on in the Track Selects thread to a more appropriate place... Edit: Also an update to future studs aspiring to be a gunship driver: Since the T-44 track is no longer an option, Gunships will drop to the T-1 and T-38 classes.
  23. NSFW: https://i.imgur.com/KNFvX8Q.gif
  24. Anyone want to speculate on what brought the two aircraft together? Was it the jumpers out the door changing the flight characteristics, or was it simply someone not paying attention?
  25. In the meantime, what's the next best alternative to find guard postings?
