Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
Butters replied to Swizzle's topic in Squadron Bar
There is no penalty. Selling within a year is taxed at short term capital gains rate and over a year is long term. If you do not know the difference I would stop buying shares of XYZ on your e-trade account and go talk to a proffsional. ( not Dave Ramsey)- 1,190 replies

Sorry dude, your best bet is to hire a Thai tranny hooker to get one of these guys drunk, then they will tell you everything you want to know. If you are lucky they may even tell you about the airline hiring boom that is just around the corner.

Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP

Wait are you counting your matching contribution as part of the total calculation of your ROI? If so, I take back all the bad things I said about DR. He is a smart mother fucker. Convince people to give you money and in return convince them they are making money!- 1,190 replies

Too late... drunk pilots tend to forget the wording in the non-disclosure agreements they sign.

Really? Are you sure? No shit, I was referring (poorly) to the first link and the fact you were nice enough to point out that you would not invest money in a company in Chapter 11. Once again... no shit.
-
We do this shit all the time. Only in reverse. Meaning when your boss does PCA or PCS and you don't want to do a 120 day OPR they play the switching raters game to make make sure your OPR does not come due until your annual. I thought everyone knew this. When my PRF was due for Lt Col IPZ they changed my rater so another OPR would go in right before the accounting date, about 5 months early.
-
No, the escape pod on Air Force One is a 707.
-
What pointless shit? I thought the 135 was a 707 like the E-3?
-
and their union!
-
That sucks man. Your squadron should have taken better care of you and written your OPR earlier (only need 120 day supervision). I know that does not help now, but if someone else has their board coming up, they may want to think about that.
-
You do know they are in Bankruptcy right now, don't you? When a companies stock symbol changes from AMR to AAMRQ, probably not a good idea to buy that stock. You would get more out of stuffing $100 bills into a blender. Most people don't need to see pictures of unbolted seats to figure that one out.
-
Well, yea. It's after 9 so I do not see a problem. Honestly, seems like a dick move to pick on some guys that were not taken care of buy the system. These guys are right out of pilot training. Right, wrong, or indifferent I am sure the last thing on their mind showing up to a squadron is "when can I get my first OPR done". Oh, and you had to go there with the Tebow thing!
-
Well, if anyone reading this is on casual status, you might want to look into getting an OPR. Wonder how long it will be before the AF figures out the mistake. Yea, with any kind of BIT you could easily miss this board. I do not see how they can stop promoting pilots. So, how did the others make it? OPRs done after 120 days of supervision, or is everyone in the same boat and you just get arbitrarily screwed by where they draw the line?
-
No dude, trying to figure out how this happened, he already said it was a typo. So, you lighten up. So, I guess the Air Force does no plan on promoting pilots. Like BitteEinBit said, are the boards to stupid to figure this out. Also, are the squadron to stupid to figure out they need to figure out a way to get these guys an OPR before the board? ThreeHoler's squadron figured it out.
-
yea, I did the same thing. 6 Months casual no OPR. 1 yr UPT no OPR. C-21 training is very quick so I showed up to Yokota, still a 2lt with no OPR. Pinned on 1LT within a few months and got my first OPR as a 1LT, then another one before I pinned on Capt. Are the Capt boards meeting over a year out? If that is the case then a lot of pilots got screwed and is a WTF!
-
So you pinned on 1Lt in a year? That is a little fast don't you think.
-
Can you describe the timeline that you made go over 3 years in the AF without getting an OPR? Yea, I never had an OPR as a 2LT but had 2 as a 1LT.
-
Yes, apparently there are some individuals that refuse to use credit cards and hate getting free cash from them. Furthermore, they hate getting free upgrades from the airlines, that translates into free food and drinks. Basically, they are socially inept retards that we have to deal with from day to day.

When I was in Korea I had stuff show up 9 weeks after ordering. Usually it showed the next day after I called the company with an inquiry. This is why some companies will not ship to APO, because it can take a very long time if your timing is bad. This is why you should pay with a credit card. If you don't get the stuff after 12 weeks dispute the charge with your credit card company. If you are a Dave Ramsey guy and paid cash, let that be a lesson to you.

Easy, physics! For every Air Force regulation there is an equal and opposite guard waiver. Everyone knows that.

Nevada man dies with $200 in bank, $7M in gold hidden inside home This is how those Dave Ramsey guys who won't use credit cards and live like they're a TSgt when they're a Major usually turn out. Yea, and he never paid any credit card interest either. Good for him!- 1,190 replies

That is because most of you fighter pilot buffoons have no idea what an AMLO is. We are nothing like ALOs, we still get to fly. So, I get to reset my TOS, deploy when I want to, for as long I want, fly when I want, and stay home on Fridays. Why would anyone want to do that.
