  1. They are overmanned. Lots of retirements, but the line for people wanting in is longer than the one going out.
  2. Put in the school info, high school to masters. Did not put any jobs before military. No supporting docs. Somewhere in the instructions it says not to upload anything except in rare circumstances.
  3. Ok, now I see it, was looking at it before on my phone. No, you check Chapter 30 MGIB. You are saying as of this date I elect to stop Chapter 30 and go with 33. The no other benefits would be checked if you never bought into MGIB. Man they make this complicated.
  4. Not seeing "not eligible for any other benefits".... But to check post 911 and continue.
  5. Ok, then you are in my boat! Do switch to post 911, it will pay 100%. M GI Bill only pays 60%. So it will give you warning saying you are switching to post 911 and you can go back. Keep filling out form. If you already know the Part141 ATP COurse you are attending put it in. I didn't and left it blank. Once you submit in a few weeks your letter shows up.
  6. I just did this, however I was under Montomergy GI Bill and selected to switch to post 911. It does say onece you switch over you can never go back. So, are you under the M GI Bill? If so keep going and they will send you your eligibility letter.
  7. Not sure how many of you remember this crash back in June of 2012. Looks like the thread it was posted in got deleted. NTSB released the probable cause last November. I think you can chalk this up to human error. https://www.ntsb.gov/_layouts/ntsb.aviation/brief.aspx?ev_id=20120607X54234&key=1&queryId=70e7c65d-f910-41cc-bd2f-a6f34cf4b074&pgno=4&pgsize=50
  8. Well, it will be free for me... I do not need to use the remaining amount for anything and I just checked the web site and it turns out like with most things you can't take it with you when you die. Wife has plenty of degrees and a GI Bill of her own. Kids are still in the Foster System and we have not adopted them yet. Don't feel like signing a 4 year commitment when I have 20 months left. Also, State Foster kids usually have no issues getting scholarships, which is how I personally think people should pay for school anyway. If you can't find someone (not family) to pay for you, you probably don't need to go. Just my .02 dollars. Working on getting a class date with K&S Aviation is Seattle. Only slightly negative comment I heard about them was a Navy guy that said he had some trouble getting reimbursed form the VA. He did admit it was several years ago and he was the first person to go through on their VA funded program. Only good comments since then.
  9. Calm down there cowboy! There have been and are operations that trade cash for ATP. They were always referred to as "Mil Friendly", that is why I stated that. Your version of "Mil Friendly" is 90 of the flight schools in existence. You can tell really quick if the instructors at a flight school have some chip on their shoulder for mil guys... If they do, don't go. At the end of the day, no schools wants their students to be failing check rides. So, they will not send you to your check unless you are ready to pass.
  10. I talked to an individual thar did the ATP Practical at Galvin. It was described as an awesome experience. Now "mil friendly" depends, I see mil friendly as... we know what you do, now let's min run this and rubber stamp it... Not saying that's what it is, but it is how I see it. The Galvin course is more expensive but you get outstanding instruction and prep. Individual had no issues passing check ride. Remember, instructors want a perfect record of successful checks. I ran the numbers and while this course cost 3k you save if local with no hotel, rental, or travel..
  11. Thanks for the info, yes multiple people have said never let it expire.
  12. All written tests with the exception of the Ground Instructor tests correct? AGI and IGI. For those in the Seattle area looking for Single Engine Instructor add on, I spoke with Rainer Flight Service in Renton and Galvin (Landmark) at Boeing Field, they said it was pretty easy. I know some have mentioned the SE ATP, but they recommend doing the commercial single engine check. Reasoning was the Instructor add on check is the exact same thing flown from the right seat.
  13. Finished my MCI and received my MEI and CFII I just ordered the IGI (Instrument Ground Instructor) test prep from Sheppard Air. I did see FOI (Fundamentals of Instruction)... is that the test you start with if going for CFI from scratch? I assume you do not need it if you did the MCI.
  14. But they will install the aluminum one without taking into account the future requirements. This will require a retrofit that will cost triple the airframe cost. However, this isn't a bad thing because it creates expensive problems which in turn requires expensive labor to solve. It is how job creation works.
  15. And that is the old escape pod. The new one as a flat screen TV and Bluetooth.
  16. Yes, the 4 of them are very stressed. Also do not forget the 4 at Andrrews on the VC-25.
  17. No, IRS has cut manning and says they will delay processing refunds. If that is the case you have a good chance of them not noticing taxes were not taken out and you should be good to go. Just don't say anything about it on the Internet or they may figure of out later.
  18. No, buy gold and oil wells. That is what the advertisements on FOX News Radio say. Also, buy a dry cleaning business.
  19. The O'Reilly Factor
  20. Well, the current administration would classify this as "workplace violence" since it happened at a place where people work. Also, since it happened on the other side of the world, the media outlets can't make much money off sensational reporting. Glad they killed the guy, heard he was an Iranian Baptist Jihadist Witness of Latter Day Saints.
  21. I thought you had to keep records for 7 years.
  22. Ok, so the fact that E-6 base pay was $2277 in 2000 and by 2020 O-4 base pay might be $8000 is good! Not sure I am following you.
