It is amazing people fall for these email scams. This an email conversation between a firend of mine and a hacker pretending to his wife. BTW, his wife was sitting next to him during this exchange. Start at the end.

Accident/Safety Investigation Board (AIB/SIB)

Are you saying the AIB is released? -
Well, last time I was wearing one in broad daylight I was hit by a car, broke my back, and was DNIF for 4 months. Reflective belts KILL.

The Army also has a full lenght photo of you on their version of the SURF. The AF did that a long time ago but decided that ugly people needed to be promoted to. Maybe we should bring that back.

It is something else that ties into it for Maintenance. I have not been able to figure out in my 8 years flying this jet. It is just something that is sent to you when you ask for it, pure fucking magic as far as I can tell. The dash one really does not go into it and I have not had the time to really ask the Boeing guys. Maybe Costa can tell you?> I spend most of my time wondering why half our dash one reads word for word out of the C-141 dash one.

I know, sorry. Just accidentally using non-fighter terminology. Our SFDRs are much easier to download and we found out recently AMC has been doing it for a while now without our knowledge to get data on stabilized approaches. Once again, I can only type so much when I am drunk. I used words like may have, might have, and Gin. Maybe with more evidence some "might have" been able to convince someone... Just saying, yes I have read Darker Shades of Blue and Kern's other book. I know everyone had plenty of evidence but he was Mr. Airshow. If no one wants to talk about this just delete the damn thread. Not trying to say one way is better than the other, I just wanted to see what everyone thought. I am not an expert on every aircraft and may use some non-standard or broad terminology to save time and key strokes.

Just looking for ideas and encouraging discussion. You know, AMC has apparently been looking at our recorders for a few years now.. hence the stabilized approaches FCIF you may have heard about. If you knew where I was right now you would know that I have way more than a sixer.... Peppers! How is the Mercenary Job working out for you?

Easy tugger! When I mentioned the CP and Safety I was talking about the C-17, not the BUFF. I was bringing it up not to say "hey we have no integrity", just saying the ACC Demo teams review their tapes after a show, why don't we. The BUFF crash I was hinting at was Holland's, but everyone knew what he was doing and having data to prove it may not have helped.

Fuck! Finlay out of time out. OK guys, honestly, I did want to start a good discussion and now that Raminman and I have been out for a while it has turned into that. First off, I never mentioned the PAED crash. If fact, the only ones mentioning it are the ones that say we should not talk about it. So, stop mentioning it and no one will talk about it. That was easy. AMC guys: Should we start pulling FDR data in the C-17, similar to what the ACC guys do after airshows and practices, to make sure guys are not making shit up and pushing the limits? Not saying that has caused any crashes, but if the B-52 had recorders we might have prevented at least one on SAC. Just saying the recorders don't lie and if someone gets comfortable with the profile and they start trying to push it, they may not if they know someone (besides the CP and Safety) are watching.

Ok, good info. Yes the Thunderbirds/Blue Angles are highly trained/recruited/scripted professionals. No room for show boating. Of all of the accidents I am aware of with these teams, they were just that, accidents. Never a case of trying to push the limits and do it better than the next guy. Not being in ACC, have there ever been any big mishaps with the individual fighter aircraft demo teams? I was the C-17 Demo pilot at an air show after an aircraft had crashed (fatality) during practice. You are right, changes the entire mood and makes you wonder if it is worth it.

Disclaimer: This is an adult discussion about air show related crashes and what can be done (if anything) to prevent them. It is intended for mature forum members only. So, all of you ROTC, Academy, and 4Chan fucks need to stay out. Since the Barnstorming days, accidents have happened and aviators and spectators have died. How can we help to prevent it? Now I can only speak for AMC, and we have had our fair share of accidents though time. My question is really related to dedicate vs. “available” Demo crews. Now I know ACC in the past has had specific A-10, F-16, ect. Demo pilots. As I understood it this was their job for a time. Am I correct? Now in AMC there are times I have seen dedicated Demo crews that are always the air show crew (guard and reserve mostly) and I have seen the “who’s in town that we can upgrade” (active duty). Is a crew that does the demo profile all the time more susceptible to trying to one up themselves every time they do another show? Are newly upgraded crew less likely to push the limits because they are not familiar with the profile? How does ACC deal with this problem? What do you do when crews try to one up the crew from the last air show? Not talking about specific accidents or making any generalizations on how wings upgrade/schedule their crews. Just discussing possibilities on how future mishaps might be avoided.

Have you been waiting 3 years to reply so the "still no chutes" would be funny?
-
ADDED: Before some academy grad jumps in about "Well, you owe this money, so pay it back", remember, they may have already taken it back and unless they prove they didn't you might really get screwed. If they take it back twice, you will be an old man before you get it back. If the system worked where they could give you money back as quick as they can take it, I would be giving you different advice.
-
Sorry, I was making smartass comments in other threads and missed this one. 1. Tell them you think they already took it back 3 years ago, then make them prove they didn't. 2. 5 years later, if they figure they didn't and you still owe money make sure you make them divide the payments out over 12 months. This happened to me when I joined the AF. I was paid $150 a month my last year in ROTC and was not suppose to be paid since I was not on scholarship. Kept bringing this mistake up to them and I was repeatedly told I was wrong and the money was mine. A year later they asked for their money back and I said they could have it at the same rate they gave it to me. Don't even get me started on the leave they took from me by mistake and I spent 1.33 (repeating) years getting it back.

Almost as funny is the number of people that can't figure out why that is funny. -
No shit.. there is never a cop around when you need one and the day you get mugged is the day you left your gun sitting on the kitchen table.. (not M2 of course)
-
Yes, and you will probably not make O-5 if you turn the slot down... They remember that kind of thing... mostly because they put the fact that you did it on your record. Make sure you want to separate after doing this, because that bridge is almost impossible to rebuild after you burn it.

I flew with Mike Freyholtz in the 15th at Charleston. When I got to McChord I did not get to see him much, I do remember when he left to go to Alaska. Mike was also a great photographer. Some of his pictures are still hanging in the 62 OSS training shop at McChord. RIP Brother

Probably just a canned SMS/G2 comment. The Demo profile requires 4 crew members, there is a possibility the Safety Observer could have been upgrading to that position. The P, CP, and LM had to have been qualified or there would have been more people on board.
-
Yes, I have. If he wasn't standing between me and my Gin I would crack him in the mouth bone. Gin is much more important to me, (to keep the shoe voices in my head quiet) than to deal with his shit. I just learned to get all 3 of my drinks at once and keep my contact with him to a minimum.
