  1. I wonder why Boeing didn't think of that sooner!
  2. The P-8 was canceled? Well, someone better tell Boeing and Pax River. They are still building the thing and Pax is still slow rolling the testing. My point about T&E is especially towards the P-8. Here is a 737 Airframe, the most widely produced aircraft in existence and the Navy plans to take 3 years testing the damn thing. They also want Boeing to figure out how to De-Ice the tail in flight (without an increase in weight) because Turbo-Prop guys do not understand how larger jet aircraft work. BTW The Boeing P-8 Poseidon (formerly the Multimission Maritime Aircraft or MMA) is rplacement for the P-3. It is intended to conduct anti-submarine warfare, shipping interdiction, and to engage in an electronic intelligence (ELINT) role. This will involve carrying torpedoes, depth charges, Harpoon anti-shipping missiles, and other weapons. It will also be able to drop and monitor sonobuoys. It is designed to operate in conjunction with the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance unmanned aerial vehicle. The P-8 is to be built by Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems division from the 737-800.
  3. Yes, the F-35 will be delayed because the Test and Evaluation system in all of DOD is underfunded and poorly led. The only system that looked like it was going to get up and running quick and cheap was the 767 tanker.. and that was deemed to be illegal and unfair to the broken current acquisition process. Oh, and before anyone tries to defend the T&E process tell me how the V-22, P-8, Super Cobra, Huey Upgrade, ect are going.
  4. Ah, come on! Don't get your panties in a bunch. We are making light of how this situation, that had nothing to with him, will turn into a "Obama is the greates Presient ever" media circus.
  5. The title of the article should have benn "Please Don't Fire Us!"
  6. Well, you haven't met my dog. Oh, and I can think of a few humans that are <dogs. Navy Seal hero's dog gets gunned down, Glenn Beck breaks story of Marcus Luttrell
  7. Yea, PM peolpe for advice. That way we can all learn from it!
  8. I heard he walked on the water over to the life boat and kicked the hatch open.
  9. Wow, this is a tough one. Not enough information to really answer it honestly. Male? Female? Hot? Not? One of my Labs can't swim, but he is blind.
  10. Not sure how "Old Ironsides" will hold up to RPGs. But I like the way you think. Oh, and the Navy does "A", it was posted earlier I think. The take a destroyer and turn on certain lights to make it look like a commercial ship. When the get close enough to figure out there mistake, it is game over. C would work with a combo Chuck Norris Delta Force hostage rescue, missile strike, and MEF landing on the beach.
  11. Definitely get you foot in the door, it can't hurt. Well, it can, but trying to get rehired 3 years from now might hurt too. Does the Guard want you to do 2 yrs active after finishing UPT like the Reserves? If so I would just tell them up front and see if they will hold the job for you. They may not like the idea have being down 1 engineer for several years.
  12. Well to quote our distinguished Secretary of State.. I have a better idea! What about using a centuries-old response for a centuries-old problem? Oh, because it is messy and Democrats are afraid to get dirty.
  13. CLASSIC thread almost sliped to page 2 again!
  14. Well, did you give her a ride? Oh, and why do you have a picture of the SS Edmund Fizgerald as you avatar?
  15. Sorry, it was just a joke aimed at those agruing over 181..182...or 184.
  16. First one was a dealer demo... didn't count.
  17. Not safe to fly??? We don't even know what happened. Just because an aircraft crashes does not mean it is unsafe. If that were the case the AF only has a handful of "safe" airplanes.
  18. They may have and the reg just has not reflected that yet.
  19. OK, Start by inverting the last fraction and multiplying: 3x² - 27 .. 8x² ....... 6 ----------- * -------- * ---------- .... 4 ...... 9 - 3x . x² + 3x Now you can do some factoring and canceling: 3(x² - 9) .. 8x² ...... 6 ----------- * -------- * ---------- .... 4 ..... 3(3 - x) . x(x + 3) You can cancel the 4 with the 8, remove the 3's and the x's. (x² - 9) .... 2x ........ 6 ----------- * -------- * ---------- .... 1 ...... (3 - x) . (x + 3) Now x²-9 is a difference of squares which can be rewritten as (x - 3)(x + 3): (x-3)(x+3) .... 2x ........ 6 -------------- * -------- * ---------- ....... 1 ...... (3 - x) . (x + 3) Cancel the x+3: (x - 3) .. 2x .... 6 ------- * -------- * --- ...1 ... (3 - x) .. 1 Now notice if you factor out a -1, you have 3-x which will cancel: -1 .. 2x .. 6 --- * ---- * --- .1 ... 1 ... 1 Multiply across and you get: -12x 217 is the number following 216 and preceding 218. 217 is also a Centered Hexagonal Number.
  20. Easy! Invert the third fraction then multiply straight across like this (3x^2-27)(8x^2) 6 ------------------------------------- 4(9-3x) (x^2+3x) but first we can factor and cross cancel (3(x-3)(x+3)(8x^2) 6 --------------------------------------... -12(x-3) x (x+3) after we cross cancel we get =-12x
  21. YES I DO!
  22. Tough question. The difference in PIP tests or pseudo-isochromatic plates are the number of plates, PIP1 is 15 I think, 14 test and 1 example. Not fimiliar with II and III but I imagine they test a different level of color vision it you fail one of the othere. The F-2 plate (Farnswoth or Tritan Plate) is just another test they use. If you fail one hopefully you pass the other. Fail all of them, they call you color blind.
  23. No, the employer is not obligated, but they may consider it.
