  1. That sounds right, but it is not what he said. Or he was quoted poorly by the media..... That could never happen. The trick is make to PME PME, regardless of method of completion.
  2. He didn't really make a lot of sense. What if you don't get to go? A 6-9 week SOS course is one thing, year long IDE/SDE is another.
  3. Hookers: 44% Booze: 52% Investment in Hookers and Booze 3% Misc: 1%
  4. 1. Took me 46 hours and 23 minutes last time because we had to go the long way and crossed the IDL. 2. Not if they are on different days 3. Depends... are you in the desert? A few years ago they invented this thing called a carry-on bag. It is a small bag you actually carry on the airplane with you (weird, I know). Well, in this bag you can put clothes; those clothes can then later be used to change into while you wait for your checked baggage. It also comes in handy if you crash or divert. ADDED: I also put food, smokes, and road beers in the carry-on.
  5. Guess nobody ever told you that military run training programs are not FAA certified. The new ATP rules say the training provider must either be an airline operating under Part 135 or 121 or a certified training provider operating under Part 141 or 142. My point is our military training should count and the way the new rules are writen it does not. Sputnik said it with more words. Well, you need to worry if they do not change this rule... unless you have 20K laying around. The rules apply to the writen as well as the practical.
  6. I would guess same as last year.
  7. Yes, but will they count Military training and sim time as suficient to meet the requirements stated in the new rules.
  8. Are you saying we have to do both now?
  9. I meant a mil comp for the training they want you to get before taking the practical. They like the money they get from the practical to much to let that go. The new rules just seem exponentially ridiculous for mil guys.
  10. Also what about the America West and US Airways pilots? How would you like have 16 years of senority US Air and find out a guy on probation at AW is about to jump ahead of you? Yeah, Air Force sucks and the Airlines rule! BTW that still has not been settled and now they have the AA list to deal with. US Airways pilots' seniority disputes may muddle merger
  11. When you look at what they are trying to do I am not sure this applies to Mil guys. Yes, there is currently no Mil exemtion, but I think there will be. This was aimed at the off the street hires that knew dick about flying airplanes. The classes they say you need after 1 Aug are ones we have already taken, we have the sim time and more importantly the flight time. I would still get it now if you can, but I do not think it is the end of the world for Mil guys.
  12. Has anyone figured out a way to make a lot of money real fast, with little effort, and no risk? If so, can you post it here?
  13. Yes, you are missing something. The fact that this happened before and it was not crippling. They just refilled the pool with non-vols.... problem solved.
  14. Then how the hell did you find this board?
  15. Or FL420
  16. It does, I have no idea what he was taliing about. The longest leg I ever flew in the C-21 was 7.5 hours with Costa (BTW Costa, Where you at?). That was from Hickam to Travis with the ferry tank in back. Oh, and we did not have simple legs in the Pacific , if you have not flown C-21s in the Pacifc, you should not talk about flying C-21s in the Pacific.
  17. Life in the C-21 is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you are gonna get.
  18. Yes, go on...
  19. Maybe if they were looking for a MANPADS they would have a better chance.
  20. Unless you are going to the C-17 as a CC or Do you have a 0% chance at Altus. However, you only need to go to Altus is you exceed 39 Months unqualified. He said guys asked to extend their staff tour and were denied. If their extension was denied, they most likely will not exceed 39 months and can do a local requal. ADDED: Before some smart ass makes a comment, I am talking about old and busted FGOs that have meet all their gates.
  21. Hey guys, I just heard some stuff in an important meeting that directly impacts all of your futures. However, I am not allowed to tell you anything about it. Sorry.
  22. Nope: We are both wrong... kind of.. actually we are both right. You Commander signs it. Does not specify Wg/Gp/Sq. I was the Chief of flight safety so the WG/CC was my Commander and he signed it.
  23. Your Wg/CC has to sign it..
  24. Wait, how are they preparing the flank steak again?
