  1. Probably the recruiters assistance program.
  2. Him Him
  3. For those of you who are interested in supporting Bass' defense fund you can donate at any Bank of America. Just ask for the Chris Todaro Defense Fund. Please keep the Todaro's in your thoughts and prayers.

  5. Agree he deserved to get a little roughed up... As for big blue standing tall, highly doubt it.
  6. I personally know both "Bass" and Andrea and this news comes as a huge shock. Andrea does get a lot of unwanted attention when she is out in public because of her job on the news and although I was not there, I'm sure Bass was simply trying to prevent a major douche from messing with his wife. And from what the article says, this guy had been messing with other women that night. It is def not in Bass' nature to instigate a fight or to act without being provoked. This guy didn't deserve to be seriously injured, but the women he was touching didn't deserve the treatment he gave them either and we should be thankful that there are people out there willing to keep this type of behavior from happening.
  7. We just had a spouse taxi day for the Ops and AMU spouses last week. I admit that I was def skeptical about whether or not the spouses would enjoy it; but most of the spouses enjoyed the ride (sts) and were able to learn a good bit about what their spouse does and how his/her job contributes to mission completion.
  8. A butterbar is a single turd, a gold oak leaf is a pile of shit
  9. Depends on the size of your commissioning class... like any DG award the top 10% receive it so if you have roughly 15 or more people commissioning there will likely be another DG. clear as mud?
  10. Favorites: Yuengling Sam Adams (Regular and Oktoberfest) Iron City The only beer I don't like is a warm one... unless I didn't pay for it
  11. If you end up flying fighters, you might be relieved that you are left handed - you won't have to take your hand off the stick (sts) to write things down.
  12. Not saying this particular accident will draw attention to the argument, just that it might take high profile accidents like this one to convince congress. And that is a sad thought.
  13. Classic.... Sad thing is it will probably take more accidents like this before congress and the public realize the AF is in desperate need of new iron across the board.
  14. I'm glad that we can do what we need to do in VMPF... less irritation and time spent dealing with shoeclerks. That is until VMPF crashes or you come back from a TDY to find your account disabled.
  15. I'm almost positive there isn't an official new service dress uniform.... probably just a GO "field testing" it aka he spilled coffee all over his real service dress and used a spare.
  16. If you do buy mess dress in ROTC make sure you buy it a size or two larger than you need... you'll def put on some weight before you're willing to buy a replacement.
  17. piss poor if you ask me... they could have done a lot better with this
  18. I've never really had problems with infants on flights. They usually will cry a little bit here and there but nothing too major. It is the toddlers/pre-teens that annoy me because they don't shut up and like to kick seats. Flying back to CLT tomorrow... here's to a tolerable flight
  19. I hate the garbage that comes out of people's mouth in the gate area after any sort of announcment from the gate agents: Gate Agent #1: "We are going to have to switch crews due to the fogged in conditions at CLT that this crew can't fly into." Joe Schmuckatelli: "You mean these pilots aren't qualified? They just said these pilots aren't qualified to fly the plane!" OSULAX: "Sir, all pilots have WX Cat's that restrict the type of WX they can fly into" Joe Schmuckatelli: "No she said he wasn't qualified" OSULAX: "Have a great flight!" or Gate Agent #2: "Announcing departure time change #2 for Flight 69 to DTW, departure time is now 1215. Sally Rottencrotch: "Great more delays" OSULAX: "Ma'am, that is actually a good thing, they just moved up the departure time by 20 min." Sally Rottencrotch: "Ohhhhhhhhhhh"
  20. By far the most annoying thing to me is people who try to get huge suitcases to fit in the overhead bin. They then complain that it is "carry on size". If the airlines really cracked down on people with carry on luggage that is too big, it would definitely make boarding and exiting the a/c much easier and might even create more on time flights.
  21. Charlotte has a very nice USO. Ton's of food, lazy boys, and usually a handful of vets volunteering there that are eager to talk to you about anything and everything. No sleeping rooms but 30+ recliners and a handful of couches. Disagree about MSP..... for a major hub I expected a nicer facility. I had to spend the night there last winter due to the weather and the place was cramped as can be. Even though I had to sleep on the floor I admit it was better than sleeping at a gate with tons of strangers just walking by.
  22. Not really seeing the correlation there.... but to answer your question it depends. If you are in a flying squadron or anywhere in the OG you will probably wear a flight suit. If you get royally screwed and end up outside the OG you will probably be in BDU's... but that will be the least of your worries
  23. ^ Those long flights are about to get even longer!
  24. 2 on what Brabus said... hopefully no PAS' are that big of POS' One thing I regret from ROTC is that nobody, including myself ever asked the cadre exactly how things worked for assignments and the like. Everyone (read: all cadets) seemed sure that they knew how things worked \but nobody got the info straight from the source. If you really want to know how it works... ask. There are some things that your cadre probably won't answer but you'll never know until you ask.
  25. Momann... I don't think you're going to find many Bioenvironmental Engineers on here.
