  1. Or the moral could be don't give up your assigned seat to some bitch who thinks it's his.
  2. Wasting your money, those lock "keys" are a dime a dozen. Just draws attention to your bag as containing possible values.
  3. It is simply amazing to see the level of detail they can contribute the crash to most of the time. When I think of a crash after take off I'm not picturing too much intact pieces of the aircraft left. To be able to have enough of the aileron linkage left to determine that it broke from fatigue is amazing. Would love to go to the Crash Investigation course sometime.
  4. Yes I did mean annually :) Thanks for the replies.
  5. Figured I'd throw this out there since nobody I know can answer it. Why are the UK banks offer such high interest rates with very few restrictions. My friends account has a 1000 gbp minimum but gathers 8-9% monthly with no fee and the only restriction is that if you make any withdraws for that month you accrue 0 interest for that month. Best stateside rate I can find is 3.2% with ING. Can someone help me out here.
  6. Read in the stars and stripes that it is no longer required to get the credit card in order to become a member.
  7. I'll be there Saturday. Staying over Friday
  8. Wife and I were never told or even knew to get an official passport. Had to get a VISA when we got here and they put it right in her tourist PP with no issues. Just because it worked for us doesn't mean fortune will smile upon you as well :)
  9. Survey SAYS..............................FACE!!!!!!
  10. The jacked up gun was the cause for the wheels up landing.
  11. Don't care who you are, that right thar is funny.
  12. It was in a local paper here. Basically he requested that the base do something and they didn't. He then started making these email claims. The claims were investigated and not found to be damaging or worth any further effort. He didn't like their answer so then started releasing emails he claimed to have received. Base still didn't do what he wanted so now it continues. I believe he had some damage done to some of his property or something of the like and is now on a mission to discredit the USAF in the area. I'm confused as to how someone would actually email this address on accident and how it would even end up there? If someone sends to joe.blow@mildenhal.com, why would the message get through to his site? I'm uneducated on this Al Gore stuff.
  13. I'm calling bullshit on this. There is much more to this story than steve posted. He has a running fued going with the 100th. Has anyone ever seen "destroy by any means to prevent capture" in any sort of email? Give me a break.
  14. There are Excursions, Tacomas, Tahoes, Expeditions, and all the other big American vehicles all over this base now. I'm assuming most live on base but there is an Expedition across the street from my house off base. It all depends on where you plan on living and the condition of the roads on your way to work. If you can't get rid of your current vehicles at a good price, bring them but buy a vehicle off the lemon lot when you get here to travel around in. Like M2 said, I have driven on some pretty crazy roads in my british honda accord and can't imagine trying to squeeze some big American gas hogs on them, but, if you know where those roads are they are easily avoidable.
  15. USAA insures with no increase that I have noticed at least. I drive a 06 jetta over here and I have no problems with it. Just takes a bit more effort to make sure the coast is clear at a roundabout.
  16. You're more than likely going to go on the civi rotator piece of junk out of Seattle or they will just send you commercial. If you are going on the rotator make sure you tell everyone and their Mom that you have pets. There are very few slots allotted for animals on each flight and they fill up fast. TMO should be able to brief you on everything. If you have any more questions, just ask. I just came from Kadena and left with my animals.
  17. Navy cruiser missile is going to have a go at her.
  18. Normal leave paperwork will get 3 family members past security with you.
  19. should have mentioned that I am a tech sgt. Basically what I'm looking for is someone who knows someone that is actually doing it right now so I can get current info like you said. thanks.
  20. Anyone know somebody who has done this? I'm really leaning towards trying to get one of these slots when i'm done with my tour here in England. Wife will have to get citizenship but that's just a trip to the states and back. I'll also be in for a long bit of training (up to 1 year depending on language). The job really sounds interesting and definitely very few do it. Anybody have any info. I have already emailed the Europe Defense Attache program dude and he has gotten back to me but it was pretty much a canned answer to some of my questions.
  21. Had an Army fella get a DUI at Tori Station while I was at Kadena. They had his story on the front page of all the base papers that week. It goes as follows. Individual is getting sloshed at home prior to going out to gate 2. Individual wants to know if he is still legal to drive so he calls the Tori Station gate and asks for them to send someone out to do a breathalyzer. They tell him no, thats not our job and if he had anything to drink, not to drive. He doesn't settle for that, he drives to the gate and parks a half block away. Walks up to the gate and asks for a Breathalyzer. They say no and ask if he was the guy who called in earlier. He says yes. They ask how he got here. He replies with "I drove idiot, my car is right down the street". They give his a test and place him under arrest after he blew a .11. Limit on Oki at the time was .05. Doom on him.
