Commanders are dropping like flies this year

Hey man, the bandwagon is going the other way right now -
“If it appears that any aircraft in your vul is about to complete a ‘sky penis’ immediately call ‘knock it off’.”

I’m a Xennial? Finally an identity! -
Those P-38 shots were next level

Are you talking about the zero/thin clients? I’ve recently experienced them on NIPR and SIPR, and they are computing cancer. They require a network connection to a central server to operate at all. Way worse than the laptops. Every login is like the first time. The lagging keyboard and mouse inputs are screen punching bad. It’s a 100% worse Air Force comm experience, if you can believe that. If your base is talking about getting these, push back with all your might.

65th Aggressor Sq Reactivating With F-35s

Oh no argument there. I’d take the over. -
You would think that saving the CSAF’s life would help guarantee job security and funding for your programs.

65th Aggressor Sq Reactivating With F-35s

It’s not cost effective (or even possible) to build/acquire a supersonic LO drone fleet that will accurately represent what an enemy may have in 10 years. What is possible: mixed in with actual Aggressors are virtual enemies accurately displayed on Blue Air sensors. Mesh networked, executing canned actions or making AI decisions, and represented by whatever intel we have about them. New threat models appear quickly and are updated as required. It would be expensive AF to make it work on all the radars, but a lot cheaper than replicating a 100-ship LO threat using actual air breathers. AKA LVC. -
That’s the crux of why fans are mad about this season’s writing. Even though the GOT world gives writers the ability to explain away physically impossible plot tools (the scorpions, fast traveling) using “magic”, they choose to ignore both physics and magic.

Clark, have you ever dealt with acquisitions? None of that UCAS shit exists, and the F-35s they want to use we’ve already bought. A Stingray tech demo is a far cry from an 8-ship of F-35s. You’ll be retired by the time someone figures out how to get an 8-ship of supersonic stealth drones to take off and land from Nellis. -
What do you expect for someone with a senior officer qual who insists on getting first pick of the sorties? And based on the last episode she has a poor understanding of how far she can trespass a WEZ.

Both hook for route abort procedures after entering inadvertent IMC. Also, do those things have to refill those flame tanks or what? They looked to be conserving their ability to rain death until the armies merged.

That’s a great example of “come up with an official reason so we don’t have to tell them the real reason.” Cracks, lol. Navy dudes completely cover theirs in tape.

Back then a lot of those IPs would’ve been fighter guys who got their helmet bags custom made in Songtan.

The brown captain’s bars are the worst. While the 1Lt and LtCol are still black. I’d love to hear the reasoning. And of course the Army uses black captain rank on OCPs.

UPT/Military vs. Civilian ratings
Majestik Møøse replied to Metalhead731's topic in General Discussion
It’s always a solid bet to gamble on generalizations and averages based on a person’s background (within reason), but never discount the ability of a motivated individual to adapt and overcome until they prove otherwise. Or, on the other hand, to fuck something up royally that they should have known better about. Thats the American way. -
What has your research turned up so far?

I thought it was ok. Some pretty good shots, especially the B-1 with Vegas backdrop. But running it past some current and qual’d dudes next time will prevent lines like “strapping on our nation’s business.”

GI Bill education benefits transfer
Majestik Møøse replied to Velosprints's topic in General Discussion
Without a doubt, the GI Bill transfer rules are at the top of the gov fuckery list. I’m not sure of the official reason for incurring an entire standard enlistment period for transferring one month of eligibility, but I’d wager that the government doesn’t expect service members to actually use the benefits as much as their kids would. It’s more of a recruiting tool. -
Sunglasses: Conservative, clear, slightly tinted, mirrored or photosensitive lenses are authorized. Ribbons: All or some ribbons and devices will be worn on the men’s service dress uniform. Sleeve rolling: The FDU/DFDU will have sleeves worn down, cuffed, or tucked under at the wrist when performing aircrew duties in-flight. Sleeves may be rolled under or pulled up if not performing in-flight duties; if rolled under or pulled up (using velcro to hold in place), the sleeves will end at, or within 1 inch of, the natural bend in the elbow, when the wearer’s arms are hanging naturally at their side.

I’d support honoring Mr. Rat with his own dedicated, Google-indexed thread, just saying...

Based on a google search of “Col Patrick Rhatigan” there are a shit ton of results from Wordpress, Medium, Scribd, etc that just contain the text from his official bio. Looks like an unsuccessful attempt to bury his infamous JPQ article in the results.

After tying the sleeves, Velcro the ends to themselves so they stay tied.

I hate to get all conspiracist on this, but the article quoted only a female program manager and a female pilot, both of whom are claiming bathroom issues with the bag. This is the PC spear that will be used to kill the bag if we don’t point to real problems like what matmacwc brings up: Along with buttons, baggy pockets, drawstrings, and whatever suspender setup the 2-piece flight suit program office wants to spend millions on. My baseless suspicion is the same as it’s always been: Chiefs and non-flyers are behind this push for no other reason than jealousy and lack of control over pilots.
