Does Flight in CZTE Area = AFTO 781 Combat Time?
chim richalds replied to GearMonkey's topic in General Discussion
I'm pretty sure the only reason combat hours are logged are for fighter guys to see who's been actually doing the mission and who hasn't. For amc folks they are beyond pointless/worthless/stupid. -
I stand corrected Liquid. I know there are plenty of good leaders out there, I just never seem to run into many. I may be jaded since most of my knowledge of flag officers comes from run ins with the previous AMC vice. I know there are good dudes who want to stay in and right the ship

I would love to hear some examples of good "leadership" in the modern Air Force. If you say anything about blues Monday or morale patches I'm gonna come across the ing table.

This is nothing more than a way for 0bama and the libs to redistribute migrants to red states, to believe there's any human interest story here is laughable.

FY 15 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

you guys get caught up in the details too much. It doesn't matter what box you check, or what your sq/cc, wg/cc say. Mine both said disapprove and I got approved. Good or bad, I believe its as simple as your afsc/year group. Good luck to all who want to be paroled! -
Is it just me or do most guys you know actually rebound from a DUI to have a decent career. I know several that it was just a speed bump along the way for.

I'm sure whenever Curtis Lemay was given a new assistant or advisor, his first question was "how large is his waist and how many sit-ups can he do?"
-
They really did that? We really are getting to be a worthless bunch of pussies.
-
don't worry dude, come to RPAs, navs are welcomed here, hell, they even let some of you be commanders. Not bad for guys who have been extinct from the rest of the flying world for years.

The only way this really gets fixed is to show the taxpayers how much money has been wasted on bullshit masters degrees over the years, and even then they may not care unless it involves a Kardashian's ass

I grow tired of this new age culture that says we can't call it a Christmas party, have to take cbts on tolerating homosexuality, and trust us to carry gbus/hellfires but not carry a personal firearm. Call me old school, but the Air Force is too pussified for it own good anymore.
-
Total thread hijack, while I hate every club I've ever been in, it is by no means what's wrong with the Air Force. And not having one doesn't improve life either, I can confirm this after 3 years at fob creech.

I'll pile on, a restricted Atp isn't a big deal unless your company requires a full one upon hire. New regs say you need 1000 hours of 121 time to be a pic anyways (500 military can be counted towards this). -
Please tell me he at least had a good time at Scooters that night.

whatever, you're all so tough behind your keyboards, I was just saying its not normal to get loaded at work, and you all tackle me. And I didn't realize this wasn't corporate America, consider me informed now.
-
Call me devils advocate, but bars/ drinking at work isn't normal in corporate America. Those of us who enjoy responsibly don't want to see our heritage go away, but let's get real. My parents were shocked when they came to my upt graduation and everybody was drinking at 330 at work.

I know many of us are surgically attached to USAA for a bunch of stuff, but I've found their mortgage department to be the worst part of their business. Will be looking elsewhere for my next mortgage.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
chim richalds replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
Don't do it unless you really need the income/tricare. AFPC screwed this up, not you. Don't let your commander/buddies corner you into "helping the squadron/community." The Air Force is so bloated, this is the only way guys will figure out what really is mission essential. Work on your resume and set up interviews, let them get ready for ORIs and barbq competitions. -

I wish they'd release what made the difference in approving or not. Looks like if you have ever stepped foot in a c-17 you are cleared off automatically. -

Good rebuttal Chuck, I wasn't trying to be dismissive. The Dear Boss and whats wrong with the Air Force threads capture most of the common grievances that people have these days. I will say that being stuck in the C-17/RPA flesh trade made my decision easy. -

Chuck: thats a good idea, but since I got approved, I have had 50+ Air Force members congratulate me, including my Sq/CC and DO. I had ONE person ask me why I wanted to get out. I think people know whats wrong. -
