  1. Yep. This is the guidance. Talked my Wg/CC into writing me one, but AFPC wouldn’t accept it due to no negative indicators. Ugh.
  2. Oh wow, 2009-2011 good to see you again! Everything old is new again!
  3. Hmmm... anyone know where I can contract HIV? Kidding... kinda.
  4. I’m sitting close to 1.5 years left now, so I’ll push the button to request a 6 monther.
  5. Meh, make fun all you want. I am expecting to get picked up at this point. I am now just curious as to what kind of BS the AF has concocted to “make the spreadsheet green”. As soon as I get word back, I am throwing in a Palace Chase app.
  6. I got a joke for ya. CY17D Majors board release date. In all seriousness, something is going on. I’ve never seen a board delayed this bad with ZERO explanation from our Senior Overlords.
  7. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of the AF splitting a board after it met.
  8. Unfortunately this is only the Lt Col portion of the board.
  9. I take no credit for anything here...
  10. I wouldn’t read too much into anything besides this service is broken and incompetent.
  11. Wonder if the ‘10 guys go back to PRFs.
  12. The pitchforks are out on the promotion page for the AF portal. It’s pretty funny to watch the AFPC guys play the blame game on why it’s taking so long. The last update is early June.
  13. So this is completely unscientific and based 100% on observation, but out of my MAF to MAF buddies and my MAF to T-6 buddies, the guys with the T-6 tour have been getting picked up at a faster pace than my friends who where only KC/C dudes. I realize FEDEX/UPS is off the table, but if you are just looking at a major, I would take the T-6 if you can’t get anything else.
  14. I realize you say this tongue in cheek(that’s a saying right?) but I would do my best to get her on board first. If she is established and happy, asking her to uproot for 2 years is a tall task. She needs to see that this is truly best for the family and be supportive, otherwise your time at training is gonna be absolute hell. I could tell you tons of stories of guys who ended up dragging their wife/SO to UPT only to end up divorced, washed out of training and wondering why they pursued it in the first place.
  15. As a father of 3 who did the whole have a child while in UPT thing and then went on multiple deployments with young kids, I can’t advise to do the UPT without the family thing. I also did a tour as a UPT IP and saw the long distance relationship thing multiple times. That is a ton of stress to put on a wife and a young child. I don’t think you realize just how busy you are gonna be for 2+ years. Just wait till something goes wrong at home and you can’t be there to handle it because you are in Del Rio. My suggestion is that you guys go all in and do it as a family or don’t do it at all.
  16. I think Guardian would disagree...
  17. Great idea. Currently being ops tested on the O-4 board.
  18. You’re gonna be okay man. I mean by the time you hit your Majors board, it will be back to 85%.
  19. I wonder if he knew he wasn’t going to make it or if it was a surprise to him? The blame has to fall with his numbered AF Commander right? I think that’s who writes Wing Commanders PRFs. The AF just can’t get out of its own way.
  20. Bashi, what’s going on in your life man? You’ve been a negative Nancy for a while man.
  21. The apple (or in this case the grenades and ammo) never falls too far from the tree now does it?
  22. If you are worried about a full time job, I know plenty of ANG units where Lts back from UPT are full time ARTs making just as much as I am. The old part time Guardsman is a thing of the past...
  23. This is how I differentiate between what I accept and what I don’t choose to participate in. I’ve never preboarded, and when I go out to eat I make sure I tip the majority of the discount back to the wait staff on top of the 20% pre-discounted amount.
