Did he get sent to ALO?

Okay hopeful, you have had enough fun for today. No need to try and sway the guys who actually have a shot to be hired at a ANG unit.

PPL in Pueblo, CO after IFT
Duck replied to Bobert's topic in Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA/RPV/UAS/UAV)
If you have a PPL they send you to the “special” course. It’s much easier and you get Friday’s off. That’s the only reason I know of. -
Most people become ALOs because they suck at flying. The Commander has a special phone line direct to AFPC and when he has a weak swimmer he will call and specifically request an ALO spot.

I already got that money spent dawg! [emoji385] [emoji383]

O-4 promotion list was just approved by SECAF and will be sent to SecDef.
-
Cool. I’ll ask those guys again to see if there is some third party I need to talk to. The AD med group is giving me issues saying I need a Med Clearance letter from the Recruiter, but the ANG has no idea what they are talking about.

Prepping for a palace Chase app. Does anybody know how to get in touch with an ANG in service recruiter? They are asking me for it this time but last time nobody cared.
-
Gosh. This reminds me of the AF blaming the F-22 pilot for not being able to breathe. Idiots.

I’m guessing PRFs come back for the ‘10 guys.

Majors board update. I got to talk to the Promotions people at AFPC and she confirmed my suspicions. The AF didn’t realize what a huge undertaking it would be at the SAF level when they got rid of PRFs. They have spent the last 2 months combing through thousands of ROPs for the people selected for promotion looking for negative quality indicators. It was taking so long to do this, that they had to send up the attached O-5 BSC board to the SecDef otherwise they would have run out of the previous year selectees to promote. She seemed to confirm that the rate was not a 100% selection rate, but that’s all I could get. Based off her comments I’m thinking we still have at least another month and a half before we get notified.

I seriously think I broke the Majors board. Worst case scenario I gave the AF the big middle finger and they keep me in an extra year.
-
Approximately 20-30ish days has been the standard. OSD takes around 18 business days and then the AF establishes a Public Release date around a week later.
-
Nope! For the first time I have ever seen it, after Execing for almost half my career, the AF sent up half the board results (O-5 BSC) and is still sitting on the 09 Maj LAF list, effectively splitting the board. Seriously.... WTF is going on.
-
Saw on Facebook that the LtCol BSC board that met with the ‘09 Maj LAF Board has been split off and sent to the SecDef without the 09 Major results. Sorry guys, I think I broke the Majors board...

Fvck you my friend... fvck you.

As far as I know, it is completely legal to screw around with someone who isn’t your wife. However most consider it unethical and generally a bad idea.

Except I know a ton of fighter guys who jumped at white jets to make a better life for their family. Bottom line is that people are motivated by different things. If the AF was smart they would try to leverage what motivates people instead of trying to fit everyone into a standard mold of what they THINK should motivate people.

1. I would say very feasible if you are a good dude. A good AD record will help get your foot in the door at some units, but you will have to visit and start hanging out during drill weekends to get them to take a chance on you. 2. Right now is the time. You can put your PC app in 1 year out from your requested date of sep, so you really have 1 year to find a sponsor. Start calling now and figuring out who is receptive to your situation, no sense in wasting time pursuing a unit that will not take someone who hasn’t been qualified in their MWS. 3. Going Staff isn’t going to help you, but it’s not going to hurt either in my opinion. Is transferring to an AMC asset out of the question? If you could leave ASAP it might only extend your ADSC a little bit and you could still PC off the last 6 months. At least then you would be current. That would pretty much make hiring you somewhere a slam dunk. 4. I know guys who went from RPAs to another MWS on AD go through a refresher of sorts in the T-1/T-38, I would anticipate you needing this, but that’s just my assumption. Anyone seen what ANG/ARC does with this situation? 5. Yes. After seasoning you are free to pursue your regional training. The regional, by law, has to respect your ANG job up to 5 total years of mil leave. I would get started ASAP. Start calling units and see who seems more receptive to you. At least you are a UPT grad, but you would still require a lot of training before you became a productive member of the unit. This is going to come down to whichever unit needs people and is willing to take the chance. Best of luck.

For all you mission hackers out there, you should love guys willing to soak up white jets so you don’t have to. When I went to pilot training I wanted to get out to the fight. Now that I have been in for 10 years and have three kids the last thing I want to do is be gone 300+ days a year. It’s like the kid in pilot training that realizes he wants to fly UAVs, one less for me.

I’m gonna disagree. Having just left T-6s to go to a top-choice, sweet location AMC base, I would much prefer to go back to AETC. I thought life sucked in T-6 land, but holy hell life sucks 1,000 times more in AMC. I would stay in AETC as long and as often as you can. Unless you like watching your kids grow up over Skype, then I guess AMC may be for you.

I am truthfully scared to death on the direction this train is headed, while the AF shovels more coal into the fire. I think when the time comes I’m bailing completely, I don’t think ANG/Reserves is worth it anymore. Which sucks because I actually still love military flying.
-
WTF? They are deploying Reserve UPT TRs now?
-
I’m seriously thinking this.
