  1. NAACP boycotting NFL games may be just what the NFL needs to get more viewers. Just like when all those faggots boycotted Chick-fil-A and they had the biggest week of sales in history.
  2. They are actually talking about cutting the UPT syllabus substantially to produce more pilots faster.
  3. I was wondering about this myself. I am very happy with how my situation worked out, but was also expecting the AF to say "fvck you, you are getting promoted and serving out the remainder of your ADSC". On the other side of the coin, I talked to a couple of my 11x buddies who were passed over unexpectedly. Only one of them had a negative indicator. I had buddies that were current/qualified Viper pilots who ended up getting passed over, who were planning on staying 20+. How can Goldfinger and Wilson even have a straight face talking about a "Pilot Shortage" to congress, the airlines or whoever the hell else will still listen after the bloodbath from the past O-5 and O-4 board for pilots? Honest question. I really want to know how they spin this.
  4. You can try anything once!
  5. Would love to hear what these kids think about drops in 2009-2012 then, when half the class got Preds. A decent drop was just getting a Viper in the drop.
  6. I'm glad you said that because the way I read it I came to the same conclusion. "okay so basically nothing changes except for the fact that you have said that you are changing something". A lot of "Ifs, Maybes and Looking intos".
  7. My favorite was the Air Force 4-Star IG, standing up and telling us that the inspection process was broken, there was nothing he could do about it but it was up to us Captains to fix it.
  8. For Lt Cols its 70 a month. Should exhaust the list by November. For Majors the list is exhausted by the end of September, leaving the 08 guys to pin on in October. No updates on what the rate will be yet on mypers.
  9. Sorry everyone. My Wing Exec misread the email on the PRF dates and thought the whole board was pushing left.
  10. God. I miss the days when dudes were born dudes and chicks didn't have dicks.
  11. This is bull$hit. I mean all 7 of those people now can't join. Thanks a lot Trump.
  12. Rumor floating around that the P0417D board for '09 Capts has been moved up 2 months from December to October. Can anyone verify? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  13. I 100% feel you brother. If it wasn't for an awesome Commander? I would have been in the cubicle beside you. I saw first hand how fvcked up the AF filling of the RPAs were. Let me know if I can help. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

  15. I'm drunk and only understood every other word but I completely agree. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  16. Malloy's COA was that you take 11Fs and Dual Qual them and all they did was fly and operate drones. No additional duties and a vast and extensive support system (finance, Dts, etc). I obviously have no experience but it seemed better than what the AF was doing (i.e. UPT direct and TAMI 21). Maybe better in theory than practice but seemed like more in line for what I signed up for. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  17. This, this, this. Even I, as fed up as I am with the AF, would stick around to 20+, if i could fly a light attack and then RPA on my non-flying days. Put it in some nice locations. Fvck Altus, and Cannon (the go to AF bases for new missions). Send over a couple E-2/3s to do my DTS and paperwork queep and voila! AF just created a bunch more 11Fs/RPA pilots who can live on our own little island without dealing with the stuff that makes us all want to leave. I don't see it happening, but MGen Malloy was pushing for this back when he was Col Malloy at AWC. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  18. That's interesting because the PT AFI has that separation is an OPTIONAL action after 4+ failures (Table 14.1), but then later says that it is MANDATORY to separate after 4+ failures. Anyone want to push to test to see which one is correct? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  19. About 2 years ago the wording of the PT AFI changed ever so slightly. Whereas it used to be an almost auto-separation, now the ball is more in the Commanders best judgement. My guess is using this technique wouldn't get you what you wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  20. That's a great point. I actually know of a guy who signed up for the 10 year bonus and was twice passed over for O-5 so he was out around the 15-16 yearish point. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  21. I had a buddy even try to Palace Chase his Bonus ADSC. I don't know the full details but since he is still on AD, I guess he was denied. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  22. The funny thing is besides some early Force management issues in my career and going through two potential RIFs, I personally haven't been mistreated, until my last two years. One of my personal struggles is that I internalize things way too much. I have seen way too many good guys get the shaft all in the name of the needs of the AF, when it was really out of convenience for the Commander and it affects me way more than it should. I've had a couple awesome Commanders. I have had some truly terrible WG/CCs. As I reflect I realize how negative I am most of the time. So here's a positive. Right after the first RIF board I was one of three Capt ACs in my Squadron. Our Sq got dropped a Pred for a Capt, AC. Out of the three Capts, I was the only one who didn't have an assignment yet. My Commander fought tooth and nail to get that assignment passed to our VERY weak swimmer Copilots who was about to pin on Capt. He then got me my first choice assignments out of there to protect me from any more AFPC "good ideas". Best damn Commander I ever had. Saw him fight day after day against OG and WG leadership to the point where he got sick of it and retired. Bright and shiny guy who would have been an awesome Wg/CC one day. He now flies for Southwest. Called me about 3 months into the job and told me that it was the best decision in his life and he should have done it 10 years earlier. Also told me to get out as fast as I could. Dammit, that was supposed to be a positive story about the AF. Oh well. I am actually a pretty positive person in real life. If any of you all ever run across me in the real world, first rounds on me. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  23. Sad. I've come to realize though that they truly believe it. They have been brainwashed into this backwards way of thinking that paperwork is how you "take care of people". Best Commander I ever had wasn't the best because I won awards from him, but because one day he sat me down in his office to get to know me and then asked me "what do you want?". Blew my mind that it took almost 5 years into my career for someone to ask me this. Keep the faith brother. Your people truly know who is "taking care of them". 24. He got his... he don't need you! When he retires he can make millions as a board member telling the AF how to unfvck what he fvcked up! Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  25. Good question. Before I did any of this I had previously tried to Palace Chase back to my home ANG unit, you know back when we had too many pilots... I had already been hired with a Position Number way back then which they have kept open for me. Along the way I made it clear to them my intentions and they have been super cool with it all. Eventually I will need a waiver but right now they aren't having any problems with it. It also helps that my Guard unit is one of the few true Guard units left. The hatred for all things AD is still strong there, however they did just recently start wearing flight caps outside (all good things eventually come to an end). Still no saluting and all first name basis, including the Two-Star down at State HQ. All in all they have all been suooirtive with it (leadership included) and even said to expect my promotion to O-4 shortly after I arrive (whether true or not, I really don't care). In fact several in leadership there now were twice passed over Capts. Their main point is they want someone they don't mind hanging out/partying with for the next 10-20 years. Life is good man.
