  1. I think I remember 10 months for HPA? Can anyone confirm?
  2. Yeah, what I am saying is that the guy pulls his gun out and points it at the reporter for several seconds before shooting. Plenty of time to drop that mother fcker.
  3. Ummm... Not sure about anyone else but the first time he pulled his gun out and pointed it at the lady would have been reason for me to put the dude down.
  4. Nah, I think we're good as long as we don't say his name 3 times...
  5. Doing mine with a buddy at Higher Power. I doubt the 9-11 GI bill transfer lasts for my kids to see it... And if so, at least it doesn't eat up the whole thing. Plus a 737 type is almost a guarantee hire at SWA for a nice backup plan.
  6. Disapproved. Re-applying on 10 Dec 15, exactly 120 days from now! Another disappointment from big blue.
  7. I took the "Do you plan on leaving the Air Force?" Survey and one questioned they asked was, "would you volunteer for UAVs if they were in better locations?". Surprising, but that survey proved to me that the Air Force isn't stupid...

Is there something with having a disability rating and flying for the airlines? I heard some rumor/talk about some guys who got in trouble for claiming disability and working for Southwest. Maybe because they just didn't disclose it?
  10. Isn't it funny how Gates was in the Air Force then left and hates the Air Force? Then gets in a leadership position and subsequently starts to take it out on big blue. Funny how that seems to happen.
  11. same thing happened to one of my buddies while he was in 38s but he was able to work a deal with another unit.
  12. Ygtbsm, I think you misunderstood what everyone is saying. Pulling someone that early in their flying career to fly UAVs is extremely tough on the stick and rudder skills and is tough to get back that years worth of UPT flying ability. However it's not just limited to UAV guys. We had a senior guy show up to PIT and struggle due to being a staff/AOC/non-flying job for X years. Flying is a perishable skill, it has little to do with the guys getting UPT-D assignments.
  13. Ha ha.... Um 48. Hoping for some sequestration magic. Edit to add I do have valid EFMP/family reasons to want to go to the Guard.
  14. Break/Break. YGBFSM! My functional recommended disapprove even though my AFSC is over 100% manned due only to my ADSC remaining and "overall Air Force end strength". Anyone know if getting the red light from functional is a killer or not? Got approvals from Sq/CC and Wg/CC.
  15. Congrats!!! What a win for everyone in the PC boat.
  16. And be able to drive precisely at 40mph not 39 or 41 but 40. Whatever happened to that guy?
  17. You need to find someone with CMS access. I have been using the CSS. Mine currently says referred to Palace Chase OPR In vmpf, but is actually at my functional. The whole process takes a long time so be ready to wait.
  18. That's a valid point Azimuth. I didn't think of that. Doesn't it take like 1000 hours total time to be an AC?
  19. It all comes down to how much do you trust the Air Force, fellas.
  20. No, I am doing exactly to a T what the Air Force told me to do. I'm telling them to ask the people who left that career field. I am realistic with them and tell them that when the guys in my class went UAVs they were promised a follow on and from what I hear, there is no promises this time. I am afraid the AF would crucify me publicly if I told someone to walk. Plus it's not my decision to make for them. I will not however let the Air Force lie to them or be dishonest about what they are going to do. I already know what the dudes in the reserves think about Creech and Cannon because I have had extensive talks with them about it. So at least I know that when one of my studs takes those wings at graduation they know the reality of the situation and are not getting the old AF bait and switch. Hope that clarifies.
  21. I have encouraged my students to evaluate what they are getting at assignment night. If they are happy with the big possibility that they may never fly a manned AC outside of ENJJPT, then I tell them go for it. I tell them to talk to the many dudes we have in the reserves who got non-vol'd into RPA service and see if that is a life they are satisfied with. If not, assignment night comes before graduation for a reason, and I tell them to faithfully serve the ADSC they got from ROTC/USAFA and part ways with the AF.
  22. It's so great we are passing over so many fighter dudes. I mean all I ever hear anymore is how overmanned we are in 11Fs... /sarcasm off. Who is running this s#itshow?
  23. Not official, but my two cents. Don't push for getting BAH for spouse location, take the w/dependents BAH at wherever you get assigned and for the love of God live as close to base as you can find that is safe (class party house, is a great way to make friends). You will have super early mornings and a 30 min drive sucks. Just my opinion as a UPT instructor, some others may disagree or have other opinions.
  24. And the pendulum swings back the other way.
