Dude, either you are brand new to the Air Force or have had your nugget in the sand. I don't mean that as an offense but the assclownery among personnel moves/AFPC decisions makes zero sense. Hence the reason people are placing you in that UPT class. Hope this helps brother.

Slow to the fight here, sorry guys. Are you all saying if you flew T-38s or T-6s as a student that you shouldn't get the ADSC if assigned to white jets in said airframe? I think I am totally misreading this discussion.

If you Palace Chase into an AETC Reserve unit and then find an ANG unit closer to your permanent residence, how hard/likely is it to transfer units, having Palace Chased?

Yeah but I heard that (shortage) at the same time they VSP and RIF'd last year... I would think at the very least they need to do another expanded Palace Chase to hit the 55/45(?) mark for AD/ANG,RES that deaddebate posted a while back.

As far as I understand going to an undermanned unit isn't even considered. It's really all a numbers game from the Secretary of the Air Forces PC office. I will be pressing the test on a 4 year PC soon with an intent to hire/position number and my current SQ/CCs blessing. Wish me luck.

Not going to happen most likely. Although you don't have a 10 year pilot commitment, you still need to serve 2/3 of the 4-5 year commitment you got from your commissioning source.

I have always looked at Gates crusade against the Air Force as one of the many driving factors behind our recent personnel/manning problems. What do you all think about him?

I was an exec for two commanders. Not by choice. One was the best commander I ever had and one was the absolute worst. Both of them at the end of the day would pour a glass of scotch and mentor me. Throughout the week they would also call me into their office tell me what they were thinking and ask my opinion. Occasionally I had the opportunity to save the squadron from a morale busting mandatory morning formation run (etc). Bottom line I learned just as much about how to not be a commander from the bad one as I learned how to take care of people (promotions, assignments, etc) from the good one. I also learned that while I was just flying the line I didn't always have the big picture (and sometimes neither did they as the CC). The good commander got tired of the BS and left for the airlines. The bad is now an O-6 school dude.

Off the wall question here. How does the Air Force enforce the 3 for 1 years for your remaining ADSC? For instance, if you had 3 years left on AD and got on with the guard, are you on a commitment for another 9 years? Thanks bros!
