  1. Honest answer... Our best and brightest in AMC are now working for Southwest, FedEx and hell probably McDonalds right now. Think about that next time you meet a Two-Below the zone O-5, AMC guy who is their poster boy.. The level of bullshit that I saw during my prison term with AMC was enough to make the decision for me. Even though it's the non-flyers who gleefully enforce those stupid rules, it's that 2 BTZ Superstar Pilot that comes up with the bullshit in the first place.
  2. Talked to my buddy who was one of the ACs, and got some clarification on the story which only makes it funnier. SE Boom commented to them he flew commercial out there upon finishing some AF stuff down in Florida specifically to give them a check because they were a TFI crew on an AMC mission and that was the one way he could get around the two weeks notice to their OG/CC, Guard O-6. Which proved to be illegal according to the Reg. He mentioned the booms did get debriefed on cargo loading procedures one on one with the evaluator, but afterwards he debriefed the A coded AC on what their Q-3 items were so he could pass to the OG. SE booms plan was to Q-3 the AD boom for insufficient EFB charge and the ANG boom for not adequately addressing Infants during the Passenger Briefing. The AC says he kept the notepad paper where he wrote down what the dude said because no one in their right mind would believe him back home. The OG/CC and Ch of OGV back home were pissed about the whole situation and called the AMC Ch of SE. Side note: I need to get a copy of that paper so I can add it to my "Boss, I quit..." Book that I plan on publishing when I get out...
  3. I'm sure the truth is somewhere in the middle. I do find it funny that he didn't know his own regs that stated he couldn't give the crew a checkride. Q-3 to him for SA. Lol
  4. Dude reading comprehension! First of all how do you know we are even talking about the same guy? Second I recommended the FWA after I heard he flew commercial from Florida(?) to Hawaii only to give a checkride he wasn't legal to give. Had he been cool and not a giant douche, The crew wouldn't have given a shit that he got a sweet Hawaii vacation on the tax payers dime, but when you start trying to swing your evaluator dick around needlessly, don't be surprised when people try to screw you back any legitimate way they can. Bottom line nothing was done about it either way and he lives to be a douche to another unsuspecting tanker crew. Stories like this make me glad I got paroled from AMC.
  5. 3 to 1 is that standard?

    Cannon AFB

Are you talking about Cannon or the Air Force in general. Either way the answer is yes.
  7. You can be a nice guy and still be a douche, just sayin'. Next time maybe he should know his own regs before he tries to give a checkride and hook someone for not knowing/following the regs. Got clarification from the guy with the A code. One boom was to be Q-3d for not reading the passenger brief verbatim from the script and the other one was getting Q-3d for his iPad. Shityounot. He also made the comment in base ops that he had hooked a pilot the week before for forgetting to take off his wedding band. He sounds like a great guy, real big picture.
  8. Who said anything about PACAF or him being a Chief? He was an AMC SE boom, E-7 I believe. Seems messed up to me too. The A code was a brand new AC, with 2 other brand new ACs. Probably the reason they were targeted.
  9. Heard a funny WTF story from a bro flying Tankers on a Pacific AE (TFI unit, mixed AD and ANG crew). They got met in Hawaii by a HHQ Stan/Eval Boom Operator who had decided to do a no notice spot check for the two A1C boomers (fresh out of Altus) on the return leg of the mission. At base ops he says to the A code, "I see you have 3 pilots on this mission. That's good because you can still get home if I hook one of you guys." Dude decides after landing in Travis to Q-3 both booms for not having a fully charged iPads but after calling back to his Stan/Eval finds out he couldn't legally give either boom a checkride without giving the ANG OG/CC two weeks notice. Didn't know his own damn reg but flew commercial airlines to Honolulu for a free vacation on the Governments dime and gives an illegal checkride. Winning. Dude was apparently a huge flapping douche-bag about everything. I encouraged my buddy to do one of those Fraud Waste and Abuse things but his leadership back home was already worried about highlighting themselves.
  10. I think the real kicker is that these Commander policies are getting so stupid that even some of the shoe clerks are saying "really? You want me to enforce that?" And that is when we went full retard.
  11. Take a pair of silver wings and pin them on there and Go trolling for Chiefs.
  12. But... But... It has so many more places to put your pens!!!
  13. Not soon enough brother. Cheers Day Man, hate to see the Air Force falling apart like it is.
  14. Lies! All lies! People, yes, but very egotistical people. Some of them think they are God and hold your puny, pathetic future in their massive thunderbolt wielding hands. But YMMV! Kidding of course. Cheers and good luck.
  15. I know of a certain OG that not only looks at PT scores but BMI... Just saying, the wheels are off the bike.
  16. This isn't actually due to the 65 rule, but actually 1) AirTran guys who chose not to transfer and instead are retiring, 2) Southwest guys who don't want to deal with international/overseas flights and are retiring instead before age 65. Hence the 200 pilots being hired this year. No boom yet guys, sorry.
  17. Has anyone gotten any report dates for T-6/T-38 White Jets yet? (Fall VML) I got notified months ago but still no dates! Thanks brosephs! Headin' back to Sheppard.
  18. Or just don't screw up things the first time and you won't have anything to fix. Technique only.
  19. I totally copy why we only sent 2 dudes to fighters, but eventually that will catch up too. They should have thought of doing the whole TFI squadrons way earlier. Great way to get AD hands on Guard Iron and it saves a ton of money. It's definitely not the perfect answer but it could have smoothed out the full AB/ idle boards that we see all the freaking time.
  20. Craftsman, I feel the frustration. I too worked my butt off and made it to ENJJPT, just to see a class of 20 students get 2 fighters. Pretty demoralizing. Then I got to hear how overmanned 11Ms were and how undermanned 11Fs were. When I offered to get out and fly fighters with the Guard, as a recent graduate, I was told not to even try as it would tag me as a non-team player and get me a one way ticket to Cannon. So I bloomed where I was planted and made the most of it, being thankful to be flying but always realizing in the back of my mind how bad the Air Force handled this thing. I also got a bad taste in my mouth(sts) from senior leaders who really didnt seem to care as they seemed to be too busy taking care of themselves. A lot of the pain would have been easier to take with just some more transparency from the higher ups. Thanks General Chang for actually explaining some of the perceived madness!
  21. Wow. So I guess this thread is evidence that money does make the difference on whether you stay or go. Big Blue would be proud!
  22. Do I understand correctly that PYB/CPC is the same guy who runs w@ntscheck.com?
  23. Maybe this is a reach and maybe it has been touched on before, but who's to say it wasn't mutual until the moment the wife walked in and flipped out? Prompting some serious CYA from the "victim".

    Gun Talk

    Thanks! Bought them!
  25. Not at shoe flag, but I heard other senior leaders saying pretty much the same thing. Rather than dealing with the problem, they see stop loss as their answer.
