That's not really different from buying a blank lower and milling your own lower...which people have been doing for...well basically a long time via downloaded CAD blueprints. But seriously, the people who are committing violent crimes with guns aren't the same people milling them from blanks or 3d printing. None of those are currently regulated. And drum mag's for AR's blow. Let's be happy the Dark Knight shooter was dumb enough to use it vs bringing several reliable 30rd mags. I've never had any of my P-Mag's or Brownell Tan follower mag's jam on me. Bump fire stocks are beyond stupid. It is so ridiculously easy to turn an AR into full auto as is. Hell, a part in my buddies AR trigger group wiggled it's way out and we had a burst fire AR for a minute. But being ATF fearing citizens we quickly put that gun away until it was fixed.
  6. That's fucked up. At least the interview chick is pretty hot. Still fucked up.

Polymer lower AR's aren't new. I have one. It's light as shit, very little metal content. Edit: Unless of course your more impressed with the 3D printing part. OP said it would make gun control more difficult...I assumed because it was a plastic lower.
  8. I liked Bane, but not sure his voice was the right fit. Anne Hathaway did a great job as Catwoman though. Girl certainly pulled off the onesie with ease.

So was a .40 Cal and a shot gun. There will be a panic after this just like the Arizona senator shooting...but nothing will come of it. I would be more curious to see if anything happens to super high capacity mags for AR-15s. The dude had a 100 round mag normally used in 3 gun completions and the like. That is the low hanging fruit IMO.
  11. That is all well and good sitting at your computer. But even if you had a pistol strapped to your waist while awaiting the movie...that's a lot to ask. This dude had God knows how long to prepare for the event. You? Zero. This douche was NOT vulnerable to attack. He went out of his way more so than any other criminal save the North Hollywood shootout in 1997. Not only did this guy throw gas into the theater and have a gas mask, but he had body armor, 2 rifles, and a pistol (not counting the pistol in his car). His AR-15 has a 100 round mag...100 rounds!!! If I had my MP9 on me would I have taken a shot? I fucking hope so. But seeing all the facts infront of me am I optomistic it would have saved the day? No. I would hope that MAYBE it would be enough to distract the fucker for a couple of seconds...but a head shot in a crowded theater while choking on CS gas or whatever he used? Yea not taking that bet at all. In sum: Would a CCW in the theater helped? I'd say yes, anything would have helped. Would a CCW in the theater saved the day? I say no, baring amazing luck and shot placement.

Nice! How much does it weight? My M1A loaded with Sadlak gucci parts got sub MOA but it weights a metric shit ton. .648 MOA 100 yard 3 shot group.

M&P9 VTAC range report: It shoots better than I do (which isn't hard since I am a terrible pistol marksman). The sights take a little to get used to since they are a lot taller than normal sights. Seems like the 4th to the last round or so I am getting a failure to feed. Then when I go to clear the weapon the round is pointing vertical or straight down in the mag so I can't even rack the slide to clear it. Happened a couple times. Still have less than 10 mag's through the gun total though so I am not jumping to any conclusions. I have two mags that came with the gun, need to number them and see if it's one or both of them doing it. And then go from there.
  16. I wouldn't dare. This cord is obviously for some other guy...
  17. Holy crap. Well I guess I'll see them there.
  18. It's a snap. I take my little machine, I take your little thing. See? I put it into this little hole here, and nip the tip.
  19. Well that's a weird drone now isn't it...I bet they planted the bodies to throw everyone off the truth!

Sounds like budget isn't much of an issue with you since you are talking about optic combos here that cost more than the gun you just bought so here is my take: Unless you are shooting 3-Gun/Competition the offset optic is stupid/unnecessary (to include the offset iron sights). If you don't mind the extra weight then the red dot with a magnifier on a swivel mount is always popular. Make sure you pick your mounts correctly so you don't wind up with the red dot straddling the upper and top rail. Personally, price is no object I would go with the ACOG with the RMR on top. You are talking $2k here but hell you brought it up...so why not? If you want to be slightly more thrifty a bunch of ACOGs have built in iron sights on the top of the optic also. I have an ACOG on one of my Ar's and an Aimpoint M2 on the other. They are both great optics but the ACOG would be my SHTF option.
  21. They do make for rather expensive landfills.
  22. Except for that 99 year lease...
  23. Damn good thing we don't fly this jet anymore... Or drive these... I do want this patch now...
