Anyone here do any painting (duracoat, cerakote, etc?) I am thinking about picking up a compressor and paint gun to get my upper and lowers FDE to match all the furniture on it. I am NOT a fan of the spray paint option since it doesn't generally match the same shade of FDE that Magpul uses. If anyone interested in here is the formula to get a damn near PERFECT match for FDE: 1 tablespoon Duracoat Leupold DE 1 teaspoon Duracoat Leupold DE 1 teaspoon Duracoat DM Lizard 1 teaspoon CAV ARMS Coyote Brown 1/2 teaspoon Hardener 3 ML flatterer Stolen from AR15.com. Note how close it is to the stock, pistol grip, and hand grip. Another rifle here using same technique:

What are UPT students doing when they hit 1LT? They are STUDENTS. The last thing on anyones mind is their date of rank. They are just trying to survive the day to day grind. I know...because I was one of those guys who missed their own promotion. Nobody gave a shit. Trying to convince a 2LT to keep tabs on something that insignificant (IMO) is silly. Worry about something "important" like being prepared for your flight. Not running around all day getting shit sown onto your flight suit while you are still in formal release.

Trying to get my stuff out of storage (yey they found it!). And I was quoted three weeks for them to deliver my stuff from Columbus AFB to Scott AFB. That sounds ridiculously long (STS). I got the phone number for JIPSO in San Antonio who I guess is in charge of it. So plan on calling them tomorrow. Just curious if I have a leg to stand on or if I will make myself look like a tard since three weeks is SOP.

I am willing to bet they pay losers to listen for shit like this. Same reason the press sends camera's and stuff to boring events...in "case" something happens. Think about if there news was there during the Tuscon shooting of Rep. Giffords. They don't care about the fundraiser... Same reason there are always news camera's there when POTUS is going or arriving on AF1. What if he trips? That would make the news. Better yet...what if something REAL happens? Where are you in the UPT process (if at all)? Because it's kinda scary if you are actually flying and don't have any clue how this process works... If you want to work for a ANG or Reserve unit you should apply there. Much much smaller odds you will get an associate unit in your drop, smaller odds it will be the one you want. (I am part of an associate unit FYI)

Are you married or single? You basically go to the Inn and find out if you are awesome and got a Non-A or you suck and you stay on base. If you are staying on or off base you aren't paying for it...so the rates don't really mater (77 a day though). If you have a Non-A you get 46 or something a day. If you don't have a Non-A then it's like 26. You don't need to make reservations, the AF handle's all that for you.
