Just stuck it on the ghetto fabulous scale here and it came in just under 13lbs with no magazine, a harris bipod mount, the VLTOR stock, and 2x BUIS (so pretty much how it's pictured above but I put the bipod block on it, but not the bipod). Yea, I've shot the AR with the PRS. I actually like it, the PRS stock is down right awesome once you get it configured the way you like it (eye relief, comfort, etc). But, that being said, I have never shot it with the PRS in a "tactical environment" (ie: Carbine course, CQB/C, etc). I put the PRS stock on it in the first place to just to try it out, never intended to have a 16in carbine with a PRS stock on it. Then I find myself TDY at Altus and forgot I never put the M4 stock back on and all my other gun parts are in long term storage. My next rifle build will be a Mk12 Mod0 clone. The M1A actually came with a PRS stock (bought it used and have a box full of goodies). I will put a PRS on the M1A since I will pretty much only use it for distance shooting, slap the VLTOR that is on the M1A onto my existing AR, and then take the PRS on my AR and use it for the Mk12 Mod0 clone build. Obligatory pic:
  2. Acceleration has never killed anyone, it's suddenly stopping that's the issue.
  3. What is the experience of this guy?

AntiZombie Device...meet your big brother! I will call it: Bigger AntiZombie Device (or BAZD). Stats- "Loaded" Springfield Armory M1A (includes match-grade trigger group and medium weight cro-moly barrel) Troy MCS in FDE Troy folding BUIS Unitized and ceramic coated gas system Sadlak NM guide-rod Vltor Mod-Stock Yankee Hill Machine FS Troy single point sling attachment & "No-name brand" rail sling attachment Just threw on the Scope for my AR-15 to see how it looked. It's a Nikon with a BDC for a 5.56 so wont work well with the M1A. Compared to the AR-15. Ignore the PRS stock on the AR. I will be trading the VLTOR stock with the PRS. :) Entire family. Zombies beware!!!
  5. Interesting. I have always heard like 99% of the stuff is scripted. Like they will pull random people from the street and give them an object. So the negotiating isn't really scripted, but the item was never that person's to begin with.

I am confused. His beret fell off...so?
  7. It can be fixed. But it will take time and commitment. Those are the two things we have always lacked. We are impatient and never follow through. We jump ship at the first chance possible to avoid responsibility or finish what we started. Add a shitty ROE that makes it even harder to accomplish much of anything in a short time period and you have a guaranteed lack of success.

Crazy. The one I shot felt like a toy after shooting my 16" mid length AR. I guess it varies a lot. I think his was a 14.5 upper. So it was apples to oranges. But a 5.56 AR has such pitiful recoil it should never be an issue anyway.

Timbonez, if you really want to cut the recoil back consider a piston kit. The piston AR's I have fired recoiled similar to the ones with a 22LR kit. It's ridiculous.
  10. Oh very good point, didn't realize they were on a rejoin. I have no idea wtf he was doing then. Never heard of it happening before. And if so, this would be much more prevalent with all the stud's panic stopping on rejoins. Hell, I can't even count how many times I would go idle/boards on a rejoin...probably every rejoin I did on my first handful of form flights. Multiply that by...all of UPT and if it was an issue with the PT6 then there would be T-6's falling out of the sky at a very rapid rate.
  11. Not if the IP was a former -37 guy. They lost one at Randolf with two very experienced IP's on it for this reason. T-37 flap lever = T-6 throttle cutoff
  12. How is that even legal? So now WG/CC's can make up dress and appearance regs?
  13. No bet. I am willing wager that Charlie Sheen will be the next Keith Richards or Ozzy Osbourne. He is going to live to be like 98 years old and nothing will ever stop him.
  14. Bloody decent of them.

I threw it on there and then forgot to take it off before my TDY enroute. So now I'm stuck at Altus with the wrong stock on it since my M4 stock is in long term storage. But not all is lost since I am saving a little more money and buying a Mk12 Mod 0 upper probably while I am still here. But the handguard would be in FDE not carbon fiber.

  17. Exactly. I've been saying that for years. Anyone know what the procurement rate is going to be? It's going to take a loooooooong time if it is only 15 a year.

Or you can buy a real AR (5.56) and just drop in a .22LR bcg and have two guns in one! https://www.botachtactical.com/cmar22lrcoki.html
  20. Leave and next time they want us back they foot the bill.

Mailman made a delivery: Aimpoint M2 with Larue Mount, FDE rubber cover, and len's covers with integral ARD. Can't wait to throw it on my AR and zero her in.
  22. That sucks to hear. Hope those guys can get picked up with BA or something and take advantage of all the free flight training.
  23. I was trying to figure out what the hell that badge was. Figured it was some weird foreign jump wings and he had them in the wrong spot...but damn...that's even more embarrassing. Someone needs to jack that guy in the nuts repeatedly.
  24. I am honestly not surprised at the stupidity of the USAF. Can you refuse to sign off on an getting issued a weapon? Honestly I'd like to think I would flat out refuse a pistol without ammo. At that point it isn't a weapon, so why would I sign off that I was issued one?
