  1. Moving just off base...and he's going to have a separate place by Wal-Mart.
  2. FYI... If anyone has a FL concealed carry, New Mexico no longer recognizes it as of March 26.
  3. What if you're still in student status? (UNT/Little Rock, now Cannon)
  4. If it doesn't have a "military clause" built in to the lease, then the SCRA automatically covers it. It'll become a lot more contentious possibly, but you'll be legally covered.
  5. This is about to be the highlight of my week.
  6. Folks, Long explanation for a short question... I'm on a TDY out and back right now from Little Rock, but immediately upon my return (the next morning), I leave on a PCS to Cannon. Does anyone know if it's possible to get the TDY orders amended to authorize me flying into a new airport (San Antonio, where my car is currently located)?
  7. FWIW, I know someone going to Mildenhall, and he went through phase 2 (to include the flightline)
  8. Perdido is infinitely better of a neighborhood than anything out the front gate. I personally didn't mind living on base, because I was able to save a lot of money and time (and I wasn't there with a family).
  9. Given what I know of the text of it, I'm going to say they would have to be in your name.
  10. So as to not start a different thread, Has anyone had any SCRA issues with Sallie Mae? They keep raising my interest rate, claiming that my valid SCRA claim needs to be "recertified"
  11. Right. However for this DITY I'm using a Uhaul pod. By my calculations, even after tax, I should net about $1,000 or so.
  12. Question to everyone. I'm doing a full DITY to Cannon, but I have a TDY (out and back) terminating the day before my PCS starts, so I'm taking care of it in advance. The form says that weight tickets must be provided 45 days from the start of the move. Is that the time I physically depart this base, or the day I signed the paper?
  13. Technique, to alleviate getting your balls stomped, I'd refrain from calling it "very boring"
  14. Took me 5 months on the dot (Phase 1 and 2 only, going to W's)
  15. There's a lot of us that live at Lexington Park Apts, near the NLR/Maumelle border. It's 30 minutes door to door (as in inside ready to roll) every day, but opposite the main flow of traffic.
  16. Does anyone here who's currently in civilian life have any advice as to which is more marketable...an MA in Management (Global Business) or an MBA? For what it's worth, it's an online degree from Alabama.
  17. 12 hour days on formal release was the norm for us during much of primary phase (then add +3 for studying/food/PT/whatever). Advanced phase ranged from 4-6 hours of academics to (on occasion) another 10 hours on top of that studying per day (the kind that couldn't be done at home)
  18. Someone I know is from the Peoria Guard...IFS is a month. Water survival is 3 days, prior to class start in Pcola. Nav school is 11 months, FTU at Little Rock is about 6 months. She PCS'd out of Pensacola on or near graduation day and started class at the Rock about three weeks later.
  19. Question for everyone. At a certain base in Arkansas today, I was chiefed on wearing an LED light on my flight suit zipper. Was I wrong in responding "no" when he said "you need to take that light off"?
  20. Here's some irony. Sandusky's book: "Touched: the Jerry Sandusky Story"
  21. I didn't have my flightsuit on, and it fits perfectly without the liner, and quite comfortably with it. I'm pretty sure they make it slightly bigger if you get a mod.
  22. The dean isn't much better... While I personally intend to donate a care package for our troops, I respect the right of others to hold a differing perspective. Essential to a university environment is respect for, and protection of, free speech, academic freedom, and faculty governance. There are times when we, as a university community, particularly as professors who study and teach about constitutional rights and discourse, will disagree with each other, whilst simultaneously defending our rights to have divergent viewpoints. It is my hope and expectation that we continue to speak to each other respectfully about the issues and concerns of the day. Ultimately, it is this robust exchange of ideas that makes for a great university. Suffolk Law, while valuing debate on U.S. military policy, has a well-deserved reputation for supporting armed services personnel in the pursuit of their J.D. degrees and career goals. 23. I purchased one online (I wasn't going to Turkey anytime soon). Painless process, 2 weeks order to delivery. Jacket was made exactly to measurements.
  24. Prof. Michael Avery Suffolk University Law School 120 Tremont Street , Suite 380-E Boston, MA 02108-4977 t. 617-573-8551 Have at it, folks.
  25. This might sound stupid, but are there any rumors of Cannon getting an incentive pay?
